The concert was brilliant, the venue however was not. Went to see Sonic Live in Concert, which was brilliant, but it was let down by the venue which has left me bitter. Starting off with stupidly high cloakroom prices. The rules against bags are for safety and security, under the Martyns law. however they are exploiting Martyns law for money by charging for cloakroom use. It said £10 for cloakroom, but it was actually £20, as I had two bags, but they did not advertise it as "£10 per bag" so I thought it was for all the bags. This also meant I had to hold all my stuff that I need to take with me, which was far from fun. Then there was an accessibility queue, I have hidden disabilities, being autism and ADHD, and I ended up having to ask if there was an accessibility queue because while there was, they failed to indicate it clearly. Then I discovered that my camera, being a DSLR, was banned, so I had to put that in the cloakroom. They say its because it's 'professional', yeah I am not there for commercial reasons am I, I am there to enjoy the show, and its not like I would have used it to block peoples views etc, I am not rude like that, and compact cameras and phones were allowed so photography and filming was clearly fine. So they took another £5 from me, £25 in total for just the cloakrooms. The queues for the merch was horrendous, and even if I made it, they were card only, and since I had cash on me, it'd would have been a waste of time anyway. Then there is the seating, the view from stall 5 was good, but the seating was inadequate. This is the first theatre I have been to which did not have cup holders for my drink, which ended as well as you'd expect, I got wet when someone accidentality bumped into me. Then came the worst part of the night came after the brilliant concert. Starting with the cloakroom. I noticed when I gave one of my bags to them, they tied it up. So when I retrieved it, I asked them to untie it. They flat out refused saying "We will not untie it because it was like that when it was handed in." Yeah, I clearly saw them tie it, so they had flat out lied to me. Then after that I realised I had left something behind, so I went to get it, but security bluntly said "No, we will find it, you are not allowed in." I told them my seat and they came back saying they could not find it. I began to think they may have missed it, or it fell out while I was leaving, so I asked if I could go and find it, escorted by security, clearly panicking at this point. Another blunt no. I could email them but considering the staff I had to deal with, I just went and bought a new one, because I am unwilling to deal with such staff again. For me and my autism and ADHD, this venue was all just too much for me. Lovely concert, bad venue.

The queues to get in are poorly managed. We arrived extra early (earlier than we normally do for Royal Albert Hall, London Coliseum, Royal Festival Hall and other concert venues) and the staff take forever to do simple bag and ticket checks.

Queues are poorly run with audience members not being told they can use any door instead of just the one nearest the queue. There are lots of staff members milling around and not doing anything.

Royal Albert Hall holds at least 1500 more concertgoers than the Eventim concert I attended and yet they get everyone in on time for the start of their concert and the queue times at Albert Hall are less than 10 minutes even when it's full house.

Eventim staff wait till you get to the front of the queue then send you off to another queue because your bag is 3cm too big!

A queue time of 48 minutes for a medium sized hall like this is ludicrous- they took so long that many of us who had arrived early were still forced to miss the start of the show.

NB they make you deposit backpacks (even small ones), tote bags, medium size handbags, umbrellas and normal items that other theatres and concert halls allow in - and the cost is an eye-watering (but lucrative) £10 per item! The bag deposit facility is even more inefficient and slow with only 2 or 3 staff taking the items and payment (NB they only take card - goodness knows what happens to people who only have cash).

Toilets inside don't always flush properly or at all, and there are too few of them. The back and side aisles of the auditorium are too narrow to accommodate standing safely but the venue still sells standing tickets. Attend this venue at your own risk.

Second time I’ve been here, first 6 years ago and yesterday to see the undertale concert.

Nothing has changed or seemingly been cleaned and from the frankly smell of super stale urine in the men’s toilets (like gag worthy horrible) despite being the 3rd person through the doors.

Huge number of bumbling clueless event staff all being poorly corralled by a stressed supervisor.

Sound quality was terrible as were the staff from keeping everyone from filing the performance on their phones detracting you from your experience due to a sea of bright phone screens.

Overpriced and feels like a bad pop up concert shop level of organisation and overall quality. Merch sold in the lobby could be far better managed.

I’ll use another venue next time.

Odd to see they haven’t claimed the trust pilot page but when the reviews are all this bad I can’t blame them 😂

The music was incredible, however the staff were incredibly rude, the bag pooocy is outrageous because who in London is carrying an a4 size bag when they’ve been shopping? 20 pounds for bag drop off. Not the advertised “10 pounds”, they fail to put up signs anywhere that says “per bag”. Again staff were rude, power hungry and entitled.

Personally had a good experience with staff, bag drop off point was next door to the venue which opened at 2pm . But I would tell people not to bring rack sacks or big bags to save yourself a tenner. Staff were helpful and even let me join my daughter who was further along the queue. Enjoyable experience…. Keep up the good work!

This is a iconic venue and now seems to be run poorly by abusive and aggressive staff who get in your face!
DONT bring any bags with you whatsoever..it is not worth the aggravation...
My partner and I were both ejected forcibly by not adhering to their strict bag policy..even though I only had a carrier bag with a hoodie in..and my girlfriend had her insulin in a small bag..we were both treated extremely badly by the staff and the inexperienced police officers who were called by my partner after she was assaulted and dragged away by Showsec security staff...
Eventim..shame on you..we have been to thousands of gigs..I am 67 and my partner is 58..this is the FIRST time(and I hope the last time)..we have been ejected from a gig or music venue..Judas Priest are one of my all time favourite bands and sadly I will never get last night back.. incidentally we were in the disabled queue as my partner is type 1 brittle diabetic and needs insulin injections..another of our friends were treated badly too who is also diabetic...so I say to you in view of these and other appalling reviews about your security..it is about time to change your security providers and get someone in who is more understanding of disabled and vulnerable people to help them get in to your venue without treating them so dreadfully...
I have severe doubts about returning..and I feel that I am not the only one...

After the Jack White show at Eventim Apollo on 25 August, I was shocked by the extreme sound levels and even more disappointed by how the venue handled my complaint afterwards.

I was not the only person concerned: other attendees also publicly complained about the sound, with one reviewer describing it as “extreme” and saying a sound engineer in their group advised them to use hearing protection.

I contacted Eventim Apollo, asked them to investigate the recorded levels and requested a refund. Their replies largely repeated that their internal limit is 98 dBA over 10 minutes and referred to 107 dBA as a health and safety guideline, without properly addressing my concerns.

I attend concerts regularly and expect loud music. This was different: it left me genuinely concerned about hearing safety.

The refusal to meaningfully address the complaint or refund request has been extremely disappointing. I am now taking the matter through the formal complaints process.

Have come to this venue regularly over the years and never had any issues, but they seem to have gone downhill recently with an outrageous bag policy and ridiculous rules about closing the bar as the show starts.
They refused entry to anyone with any bags over ‘A4 size’ - never mind people coming on a weekday from work and having backpacks or laptops etc with them. Other recent reviewers have said they were sent miles to leave their bags at ‘bag drop’ businesses, on the night we went (3rd Sept) they now had their own cloakroom facility to the right of the building, but had the gall to charge £10 a bag!!!!! An insane amount to be charging regardless, but when you’re forcing people to put their bags in it’s obviously an absolute con they are pulling to make money. If they are trying to say this is for a safety issue, I was amazed that they then did not search a single bag that they let into the building.

Even worse, after queuing 25 mins to get to the cloakroom, we enter the bar at 8pm to be told the bar is closed and they can no longer serve anything other than tap water, this is with a bar three people deep who haven’t even managed to get one drink. I was told by staff this is due to the ‘type of crowd’ Kevin Bridges brings in, to avoid people getting drunk. Firstly, what an insulting thing to label a whole crowd with, secondly, I believe it’s already the law that as a business you are not allowed to serve people who are clearly already inebriated, which is right, but to just not serve people at all seems like a backwards business decision. The bar opened again at the interval but of course caused more of a crush due to people being refused service at the beginning.
The last straw was my friend having to leave the theatre half way through the show as she was struggling with her asthma due to the heat etc, and with all the fuss of being forced to put her backpack in the cloakroom she had forgotten to take out her inhaler. Overall, their ridiculous policies sucked the fun out of the whole night, after buying these tickets months ago and looking forward to it, we certainly won’t be going back in a hurry!!!

Horrible bag policy, £10 and massive queues

Worst theatre ever regarding bags policy. Clear methods to squeeze money out of customers.

First and last time to visit this shitty theatre.

Event location and access great, but absolutely OUTRAGEOUS to have to pay £10 for my laptop bag (so £20 total seeing my husband and I both came straight from work). Having paid a lot for the tickets it really feels they try to use any opportunity to squeeze their customers at every angle. Didn’t enjoy the 30 min queue to pick our bags up after the show either..

The bag policy is really too much. They should at least have a place where visitors can leave their bags, but instead, they send people somewhere else—a mile away—to leave their bags there, with no help or organization! The staff was really unfriendly and even rude. In the end, I emptied my rucksack into my pockets and had to throw the bag away.

The venue is being very strict about bags not being more than A4 in size - then charge £10 to look after the bag-! Never had a problem before -

Bag’s under A4 only, however mine was & I was still made to drop my bag 15 mins walk away & leave at a shop that closes at 10pm??? The owner of the shop was furious with them too? Ruined the concert & will have to leave early to collect bag, appalling mismanagement by Apollo & Showsec should have been amazing to see The Black Keys totally ruined fuming 😡 complaint on it’s way but NEVER visiting again. Eventim APOLLO get a luggage room??????! Or someone with a tape measure for A4 at least

Recently went to see bands here - very easily accessible from the tube station but not so good on the actual sound experience. Security seem ok although I would now question how adept at their job they are when the bag policy for both events was a size no more than an A4 - on both occasions we sat near people with rucksacks which were obviously larger. And surprised that a child of 4 would be sitting in a Jack White gig tbh where the sound levels were extreme. Obviously no issue to the parents or the staff. I've never been to a venue where there are constant flows of people walking around the circle or getting up and obliterating the view of those behind - the staff don't do anything to prevent this. Sound wise, we are used to loud events so it's not usually an issue but the sound at least from the seated circle was poor - the auditorium seems to ring which causes lots of reflection. We were with a sound engineer who thankfully told to get some in ear audio protectors as the sound was definitely at a level that would do harm. Twice was enough to realise it's definitely an issue so won't be going to this venue again.

Absolutely hideous evening. The event had been oversold. We had bought tickets in stalls standing but could not even get into the door. We ended up standing in the corridor at the back listening but the sound was terrible and obviously we couldn't see anything. The corridor was full of others like us that could not get in either indicating just how over subscribed this event was. There were no signs of any staff or security to manage the crush of people trying to push their way into the auditorium. We left early as felt there was no point in staying. I will not be returning to this venue and would strongly recommend not wasting your money if the act is something you really want to see. You will be poorer and incredibly disappointed.

The venue is great but Dave Chappelle last night was a terrible disappointment. This is the second time I have seen Dave here and the second time I have seen this set. Just a lazy repeat of gags from last year probably because he was so stoned or drunk or both. He hardly got off his chair unless it was to get a drink or cig. He’s still doing the Chris Rock Will Smith routine ffs. I love Dave but this cost a lot of money to come down for the night and I’m bitterly disappointed.

The bag policy is very restrictive, applied at the whim of the security staff who were very rude to some people in front of me. No arrangement to store bag/cloak troom but referral to an external agency with a QR code scan and no further responsibility like guidance.
The acoustics and seating hardly justifies the price of tickets.
Overall a third rate location for a first rate show for an internationally acclaimed city for performances.
I would avoid it like a plague.

Absolutely rubbish venue. Unfriendly and argumentative staff. Created such an issue even for small hand bags ( bigger than A4 size and asked to drop these in unfamiliar places to be booked through the strange app. I had to walk nearly a mile to drop the small ( more than A4 size ha! ) to a hotel and pay 13 ponds for that. That too just before the show and I missed the show.

Seats were badly aligned that thou can not watch the show properly and temperature control was felt.

Toilets were filthy. Venue was substandard level for the level of show and actors.

Never going to go again.

The staff at Eventim were super helpful especially James the supervisor. He listened to us patiently and resolved our queries in a timely fashion.

Its the staff like this that make the experience memorable
