Hello,
please stay away from this rental car company. In the beginning they as frequently known try to sell you another insurance for your car. If you have one stay away!
Next our car got damaged on the highway, it just stopped going forwards. Well, how europcar heraklion told you, just call them and they will help you. No, of course not. They gave me a phone number of a towing service. The towing service lady couldn´t talk any english and even with help of greek people we asked at the streets the lady didn´t want to send a towing service in the end. Just to clarify, it was me, my girlfriend and her 8 year old daughter sitting on the edge of the highway at 11 pm. Then i eventually called Europcar Heraklion again to ask for further help, but they said they can´t do anything else. After all i had to call Europcar Athens to actually got a towing service to pick the car up.

The next day I called Europcar Heraklion again to ask for help so we could get another car, so we could get to the airport two days later. Surprise, they couldn`t help.
I then called Europcar Chania, which was closer to get a new car. They immediately assured us to get a new car.
In Chania they charged us immediately the insurance self excess and then handed us the new car.

Three days after returning to Germany Europcar Heraklion charged over 500 Euro unauthorized and just sent me the invoice of the damage. It was a gear damage, clearly not caused by me using the car over a week. At the same time they told me i had to pay for all the damage, because this is not an insurance case, even though i paid the self excess already in the first place... Makes sense right?

So in conclusion this is us a small family of two ICU nurses working hard every day to save human lives, getting completely treated disgraced and cheated on for more than 1000 euros!

I will make this public as much as I can to help people stay away from this company!!!

Europcar in auf Kreta verweigert die Herausgabe des im voraus bezahlten Autos.
gibt dieses erst nach Abschluss einer zusätzlichen Versicherung in Höhe von 138€ heraus.

TRUFFATORI LADRI....non affidatevi mai a loro.
Siamo partiti io e la mia fidanzata da Pisa a Chania con ryanair,il volo ha ritardato di 1 ora.All'aeroporto nessuno ci ha aspettato con la navetta come avevano detto loro quindi abbiamo dovuto camminare 15 minuti di notte con le auto che ci sfrecciavano accanto.Arrivati lì abbiamo provato a prendere l'auto da noi già pagata prima di partire ma ci hanno detto che non ce la potevano dare e dunque di chiedere il rimborso perché serviva una carta di credito per la cauzione .Abbiamo provato a spiegarli che sul sito non c'era scritto nulla del genere ma anzi c'è scritto che accettavano pure carta di debito.Ci hanno mostrato un foglio scritto in greco preso da chissà dove che secondo loro c'era scritto che la carta di debito non veniva accettata.Adesso arriva la parte più brutta,ci volevano mandare via alle 23.30 di notte senza auto con il nostro hotel che era lontano 1 ora.Ho provato di tutto per spiegare che si sbagliavano ma nulla fino ad un certo punto quando ho detto ad un dipendente che la stessa cosa era successo ad un mio amico proprio lì ed erano riusciti a consegnare la macchina solamente dopo aver pagato 170 euro non rimborsabili dunque regalando soldi a loro.Non vi consiglio per niente EUROPCAR.
Mi raccomando prima di prendere l'auto fate delle foto e video perché provano a farti credere di aver fatto dei danni voi quindi di dover pagare danni mai fatti.

L’agent désagréable nous a pas laissé le véhicule , suite au nom de la carte de crédit différent sur la réservation. Une fois les modifications effectuée en ligne devant elle et plus de 3h d’attente à rester devant le comptoir , elle nous annonce que on a dépassé les délais !
Une honte , l’agence ne respecte rien alors que on était dans les délais depuis le début à attendre devant elle , fouta*e de geul !

Wir haben einen Fiat Panda Hybrid vom 7. Juli bis 15. Juli von der Firma Kinsen Hellas Korfu Europcar ausgeliehen über Check 24. Als wir das Auto am 15. Juli zurückgaben wurde uns gleich mit der Polizei gedroht ohne ersichtlichen Grund. Die Mietwagengebühr wurde uns sowohl von Check 24 als auch von Kinsen Hellas Europcar Korfu doppelt auf der Kreditkarte belastet.
Zusätzlich wurde uns ein Autoschlüssel für den Fiat Panda berechnet obwohl wir ein Video anfertigten dass der Autoschlüssel einwandfrei funktionierte. Für den Autoschlüssel wurde ein Betrag von 500€ auf der Kreditkarte abgezogen.
Vorsicht die Firma Kinsen Hellas Europcar ist ein betrügerisches Unternehmen.

Freundlicher Mitarbeiter am Flughafen (Anmietstation direkt am Apt), rasche Abwicklung, erhaltenes Auto höhere Kategorie als gebucht, alles perfekt

Vera e propria truffa. Alla riconsegna l'addetto mi ha addebitato un danno per un presunto graffio sotto il parafango, non visibile ma secondo lui presente solo al tatto. Ovviamente impossibile provare che quel graffio esista e che anche se esistesse non fosse già presente. La stessa cosa è successa alla macchina precedente ed a quella seguente. è un modo vergognoso di arrotondare lo stipendio truffando i clienti. La cosa scandalosa è che Europcar non faccia niente. Ho scritto mail e mandato posta certificata PEC e non si sono mai degnati nemmeno di rispondermi. Ormai è passato un anno e ci ho rinunciato. Ovviamente l'utente in questo caso è completamente indifeso. Adesso che si avvicina l'estate di nuovo EVITATE ASSOLUTAMENTE EUROPCAR !!!!

Situation: haben am Flughafen in Korfu für neun Tage einen Mietwagen gebucht. Die Abwicklung bei der Fahrzeug Annahme war sehr gut allerdings war es dunkel und wir konnten den Wagen nicht eindeutig überprüfen sahen das aber auch nicht für erforderlich an, da wir eine Versicherung mit Vollkasko abgeschlossen hatten. Das Fahrzeug war ziemlich neu und hatte 31 km auf dem Tacho bei Fahrzeug Annahme. Wir fuhren mit dem Fahrzeug ganz normale Straßen und ohne besondere Vorkommnisse, gaben wir das Auto am Abflug Tag früh morgens wieder ab.europcar Korfu sichtete das Auto sofort an der vorderen Stoßstange links und entdeckte einen feinen, zarten Kratzer der oberflächlich zu sehen war, bei Tageslicht! Diesen haben wir bei Fahrzeugannahme nicht wahrgenommen hatten, aufgrund der Lichtverhältnisse auch nicht sehen konnten; so waren wir ursächlich verantwortlich für den Kratzer. Deshalb bei Übernahme intensiv nachschauen und auch den km-Stand überprüfen! Was erstaunlich war, dass der Bedienstete sofort auf die Stoßstange gesichtet hat, ohne das Fahrzeug weiter zu kontrollieren. Das lässt schon die Vermutung zu, dass der Mitarbeiter vorher schon wusste, dass dort ein Kratzer ist und wir jetzt beziehungsweise unsere Versicherung dafür aufkommen soll . Wie dieser Kratzer zu Stande kam, mussten wir ein Dokument unterschreiben, dass wir den Kratzer verursacht haben. Ausserdem war auf diesem Dokument vermerkt, dass wir das Fahrzeug mit 10 km als Neufahrzeug übernommen haben und auch das ist schon mal falsch, weil wir das Fahrzeug mit 31 km übernommen haben. Aber man verlässt sich ja irgendwo drauf, dass die Organisation die Tatsachen in die Übernahmedokumente reinschreiben. Also alles in allem scheint mir die Vorgehensweise von Europcar Korfu sehr fragwürdig und dadurch, dass eine Vollkaskoversicherung besteht, werden danach solche Sachen, einfach unserer Versicherung angelastet, die wir nicht zu verantworten haben.
wir sind sehr viel im Ausland unterwegs international und im europäischen Ausland. In der Regel buchen wir über Herz oder Avis und haben noch nie solche schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht,
Also solltet ihr mit Europcar buchen, grundsätzlich überprüfen, was ihr unterschreibt!!!!! Bzw. bekommt

I rent a car between February 10 and 17, and I am a regular client. The right rear bumper of my vehicle, which was parked outside my residence and for which I had basic insurance, was scratched with a key. As a native Greek, I am aware that the 749 euros that this company charged me is sufficient to purchase a used vehicle in Greece. Due to the fact that the damage only required repainting and not bumper replacement, I am extremely dissatisfied with the overcharge that was evaluated. I kindly request that no one else utilise this company in the future.

Europcar Klamata charged 285 euros to return the car to another location, which was four times the weekly hire charge. A somewhat unusual charge for a car hire company.

- Shuttledienst war nicht vorort - 2 km mit Gepäck zu Fuß gegangen
- konnte keine Kaution hinterlegen, Diners wird nicht akzeptiert (mein Fehler, Kleingedrucktes nicht aufmerksam genug gelesen)
- Visa-Karte meiner Frau auch nicht akzeptiert
- Bargeldhinterlegung auch nicht akzeptiert
- Storno alter Vertrag, neuen abschließen auch nicht akzeptiert
- seitens Europcar war kein Wille eine Lösung zu finden
- komplette Buchungssumme (€ 195) verloren
- musste ad hoc ein relativ teures Auto am Flughafenschalter mieten

Ganz schlechter service in chania Auto muss komplett gereinigt sein hab ich in 35 jahren Reisen noch nie erlebt! Unfreundliche Mitarbeiterin nie wieder Europcar !

2 Autos wurden gebucht und bezahlt. Einer der eingetragenen Fahrer hatte keine Kreditkarte. Das Fahrzeug, welches bezahlt wurde, konnte nicht bezogen werden. Es wird keine Kreditkarte eines Mitfahrers noch das Deposit in Bar akzeptiert. Nie wieder Europcar.

UPDATE: These con artists keep replying avoiding to address the elephant in the room. My card gave me back the money they tried to charge me when I reported them for fraud, thus proving my claim. The rest is riff raff because they don't know what to say.

If this outfit steals your money claiming you were late, even though you booked with your flight number, claim it from your card. That's what I did successfully, as these people are SCAM ARTISTS.

I repeat, they are running SCAMS.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM, and if you have, cancel the booking now and book with someone else. You will still save a ton of money.

Arrived at the airport in Chania, We were under the impression that europcar car collection was at the airport as listed online, we realised we could not find the stand and also realised we had not received a confirmation email for the car hire booking. We called up europcar and explained this to be told we didn’t need one and that somebody would come and collect us. We called again as we were not sure where to wait and we were told to wait at departures. After another hour we still had not seen europcar arrive. We called again to tell us somebody was on their way, 30mins later somebody arrived to collect us. Upon our arrival at the car hire place the lady inside was extremely rude and we were told that without the booking confirmation number nothing could be done. She was speaking to her colleague in her own language but not informing us of what we needed to do. We called up europcar to receive the email, the man on the phone was very helpful and sent this across swiftly. We passed this info over to the lady and gave her our drivers licences. She informed us that we hadn’t booked a second driver, and we assured her we had and showed proof. She then requested an additional 70euro as a young driver fee, this was not listed at point of booking and only listed on email that extra charges may incur (the email we did not receive) it took 2.5 hours to get the car in total so it wasted the afternoon of our first day. Awful experience collecting the car and awful customer service. Wouldn’t recommend at all. The best part of the car hire was the dropping off of the car, Nikos was very friendly and helpful. If the car hire started the way it ended I would recommend. We had many cheaper offers but we chose europcar as we thought they were a reputable company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! The customer service team came back with just an apology. No refund of the fee that was charged that we were not aware of! Be careful of the hidden costs!!

la location de la voiture en Juillet qu'on a récupéré à Athènes ne s'est pas bien passé car la voiture n'a pas été révisée. Nous avons eu un message d'alerte de maintenance sur le tableau de bord 3 jours avant la fin de la location , ce qui nous a apporté beaucoup de stress. Nous n'avons eu aucun geste commercial.

Eigentlich war alles Bestens. Gutes Auto und fast neu. Auch der Shuttle vom und zum Flughafen hat prima geklappt. Einig waren sich die durchweg sehr freundlichen Mitarbeiter allerdings nicht, ob das Auto gewaschen zurückzubringen sei, was vorher nicht angekündigt war.
Ich habe auf der ganzen Welt Autos gemietet....Mit 65 Jahren begegnet mir ein solches Ansinnen zum ersten Mal.
Was mich ebenfalls SEHR geärgert hat, war die Aussage, dass ich in ein pasr Wochen auf Grund meines Alters (dann 66) einen höheren Preis zu zahlen hätte.
Das ist Altersdiskriminierung und wird von mir nicht unterstützt
Alle Anbieter mit derartigen Regelungen fallen für die Zukunft aus.
Vielleicht sollte man dies einmal medial thematisieren, die meisten Unfälle verursachen 19- 39-Jährige.
Flugtauglichkeitsprüfung wie immer bestanden aber Risikoaufschlag fürs Autofahren zahlen....Lächerlich!!!

The company just wants money and dose not care about the customer

SCAM ALERT. Chania Airport. Would give 0 stars if I could. They cancelled our booking claiming we were late, lying about our arrival time, even though I had quoted the flight number when booking the car through booking.com. Booking.com tried to deny responsibility via 3 or 4 different people until I quoted that europcar guarantees a booking for 1 h after the actual arrival of a flight when the flight number has been used. We were looking for their supposed "shuttle service" that picks you up from departures for at least 30 min running up and down the airport. We asked other companies, airport staff, even the police and NO ONE knew where they were. No one would pick up the phone so we could ask them to pick us up. Eventually I saw the van and chased it down the road myself. No info on booking.com as to where the van stops etc.
Staff on the ground were completely clueless and unhelpful. They had one card machine that blocked my card and I was there for more than 3 h trying to sort out the situation. They claimed they could give us the initial car and had me pay full insurance, only to say 5 min later, they could not do that and the money had been lost!! Evenually we had to book a completely different car. When asked what time to rerurn the car they told us 2 h before the flight. However that was before 7 when they opened. I asked multiple times and they said 7 in the morning. When we arrived 10 to 7, a man there claimed that they had a right to charge another 60 euros because we were early!!! I rented a car before by europcar in Italy with no issues. Sadly this is the last time I am using their service. This was the absolute worse, dodgiest service I have ever experienced and it ruined our whole first day of holidays.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. STAY AWAY! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
