Encore are crooks

Encore are crooks. I booked two tickets for Private Lives at the Ambassador Theatre, London. The show is tomorrow and I have never received them and they are impossible to get hold off. Avoid them. I wish I had checked this site before I used them.

Robbery

I looks like I am not the only person having this problem. I’ve booked five tickets for Abba Voyage back in March for this December, costing well over £600 and received no acknowledgment of my purchase, although the money has left my bank account. The other reviews do not fill me with optimism that I’ll receive my tickets! People say avoid this company, but I had no choice, having been directed to them from the Abba Voyage website.

Scamming shysters

I tried to book 2 x tickets to an evening performance of Cabaret via website londonboxoffice.co.uk and when it came to making a payment of £598, the payment was taken (evidenced by the debit transaction from my online banking) but I never got the booking confirmation as the site crashed, stating there was a problem with my payment. I tried to email their customer service team and the telephone number (020 7492 1527) does not take calls despite the advert stating the lines are open until 8pm. My bank transaction shows a payment of £598 was made to "Encore Tickets" but I have no booking reference and no email confirmation with the e tickets. I could not even send an email direct to Encore tickets either! This is a complete scam and I cannot raise a visa dispute with my bank until 20.11.23!

I would never use this company again I…

I would never use this company again I booked two tickets for Ain’t too Proud for todays 2.30 performance. I tried to find my tickets today via my emails . We left for London as I live in Southampton tried phoning them number was dead was told by their other company they could not help as only dealt with theatre packages. I did send an email and got a reply from a company called pissedconsumer asking me to verify my email Really, this address was shown in Las Vegas . By now I thought I had used a bogus sight. Sent an email to the theatre thank god they were able to find my tickets.

E-mail confirmation of purchase not received.

We booked (and paid for) 2 theatre tickets and the confirmation e-mail never arrived. The phone numbers are all inactive and "all staff are working from home". The only way to submit a complaint is to quote the reference from the confirmatory e-mail - the lack of which is what we are complaining about! Avoid this company like the plague - a possible scam.

I booked tickets through Encore and…

I booked tickets through Encore and they never arrived. I then spent a morning trying to contact them and the number on their website is bogus. I called a number of other numbers provided on various websites and they didn't work either or were bogus. I think this company is a scam and the National Theatre should not be using them. I have been on the phone for 1 hour.

Panic then then turned out ok!

Booked show via LastMinute.com website on 30th March and transferred to complete the sale via Encore at a total cost of £296. Never received confirmation email so panic set in! Unable to get through to Encore via phone as either numbers didn’t exist or unobtainable. Contacted LastMinute .com who basically appeared to refuse accountability as said they were just a platform and to take issue up with Encore. Then miraculously received copy of email confirmation and pleasant message from Encore along with copy from LastMinute.com who had incidentally previously told me they couldn’t find any booking!
All sorted within a matter of hours so great relief.
The most frustrating thing has been the inability to be able to successfully communicate with Encore which is frankly in this day and age both insulting and unacceptable and causes unnecessary anxiety. All could be resolved with accurate contact information.

I recommend any unfortunate people who have been less fortunate and have paid for tickets using a credit card, to contact their card provider and ask them to initiate a charge back so at least you can get your money back. Alternatively contact the CEO of Encore Joe Steele.

Good on line help from Esther

I tried to book tickets for a musical, I made the payment and didn’t receive any confirmation and saw the seats I’d selected still available.
I started a chat and a lady called Esther answered in around 4 minutes, she followed up my problem with an explanation which was resolved within 48 hours. I was very happy with the help received.

Avoid booking with this agent.

My wife showed symptoms of covid on the day we were due to attend a Theatre booking.I emailed 3 times asking would it be possible to change the date or a credit note, they totally refused and only replied to 1 email. I feel they are a disgrace to the hospitality industry and should be avoided at all costs, there will be no Encore from me.

Disgusted in this company

Disgusted in this company , me and my daughter were struck down with covid and it clearly stated an exchange yet they wouldn't . Horrible would never ever use again or recommend

Awful customer service!…

I bought 2 tkts in the stalls for a show on a Saturday night in March 2023, starring Cheryl Cole. This was a birthday surprise, but I told him on Christmas day.
He then told me he had also bought 2 tickets for Valentine's Day, with a restaurant and hotel booked.
I contacted the agent to request not a refund, but a credit voucher to use for another show, at another time of year.
To my surprise, the request has been denied as "we only exchange tickets for the same show" and "we never offer refunds".

So we now have 4 tickets for the same show, on Feb 14 and March 4th.
I've also been told they will not exchange my tickets for March as they are of higher value!

This is awful service for a totally legitimate reason of wanting to exchange. I didnt even ask for a refund, but for a voucher to use for another show later in the year!
They should be ashamed of themselves - in retail you are allowed a refund if you take the goods back with a receipt. I advised them within 5 days, and still they refuse to exchange.

I would urge people NEVER to use them, or at least think twice if ever buying tickets. Awful customer service!

Wouldn’t ever book through them again

Wouldn’t ever book through them again. We managed to get to London for our Mary poppins performance, to only get completely stuck at tower bridge due to a burst water main and diversion took you around in circles, so if you don’t know London well you are stuck. Couldn’t park there and walk as I am disabled. I contacted encore and they refused to exchange due to the supplier. After speaking to the supplier which is Prince Edward theatre, they wouldn’t have minded rebooking us, but encore say supplier said no and theatre says encore said no. Absolutely nobody will decide who has said no. They have absolutely no compassion or understanding for disabled people at all. Avoid at all costs, we now won’t get to see Mary poppins as it closes on 8/01 and practically sold out or they want three times the price we paid, all seems extremely unfair, looking after regular customers is common sense.
