A complete waste of time, and dangerous
I describe the problem succinctly, and then it goes on an endless loop of completely irrelevant questions, asking the question that you've already answered several times before you give up in despair. You also have no idea who you're giving sensitive information too.

Complete waste of time. Don't even bother. Sounds good but isn't. Nice little email reply yesterday to say a reponse by 6pm today. The response by 6pm was that they will respond in due course! Wonder when that will be. I always knew my surgery was crap but this has totally confirmed my view. Hope tax payers are not funding this load of nonsense

What a waste of time this is
What a waste of time this is! Our surgery opens at 8.30 am for phone calls. From 8.28 I'm on the phone trying to get a same day appointment. Finally get through just before 9 to be told all the appointments are gone. Explained my situation and they said they would ask if it was possible for the prescriptions team to provide me with a prescription but couldn't guarantee it. I decided to econsult, just in case. Waded through the ridiculously lengthy form, having to backtrack because it was trying to tell me I needed emergency assistance even though it was for a long standing non-emergency condition that flares up every now and again and all I need are dressings for it! I then get a text from the prescribers telling me all they can give me are four dressings but they dont actually tell me they've ordered them (which I know won't be enough as I usually get 20 at a time). I then get a telling off from econsult because I've duplicated a request. They just ignored what I was actually requesting. Never again! Ive now been told I have to start all over again trying to get through tomorrow. What's happened to our NHS?

Competed the form. Was referred to pharmacy. Went to pharmacy and was referred to doctor. Went to doctor again and was told to do an econsult. Done another econsult and was told to make a docs appointment (even though they just sent me away).
Complete joke. All because I needed an urgent appointment according to the enconsult, yet no one would actually see me. Guess I will just have to treat my urgent medical condition at home then.
Worked for me
Worked for me, cost & time effective for me as wellasmy GP. I appreciate it isn't for all conditions but it's another method to get help & advice.
Garbage system
Garbage system designed to make patients go away. My doctor's surgery forces you to use this annoying system as they don't want to see patients. You have to answer endless questions, all required, and it makes your stress levels hit the roof. Perfect for someone who is supposed to help with your health and wellbeing??? How they expect older people to be able to use this is beyond me. Getting clear how we are getting shoved over to private healthcare.

Poorly designed service. Many conditions are not addressed forcing the users to end up without any advice or appointment.

I couldn't believe how terrible this system is. The amount of times it refused to accept my symptoms as legit and told me to seek help myself is insane. I've had to pick options completely unrelated to my actual symptoms just so I could go through and finish the process to get an appointment. This is such a horrible system and it is designed to be this way. Doctors no longer even want to TRY help people.

What a terrible idea
What a terrible idea. I have not needed a GP for 6 years & i just want an appointment to get help to feel better. Some really stupid ambiguous questions on my form that i had to keep my sarcasm in check for! I couldn't actually name my issue as it wasn't listed so had to go for back pain when it's not back pain it's kidneys.
I personally feel this system is cold, uncaring & dangerous to patient's.
The e-INSULT system
This e-INSULT system is for the surgery's benefit and certainly NOT for the patient!!
Via the system, my doctor literally "guessed" that I had a viral ear infection rather than bacterial and to "wait 7-10 days". Now, due to its location, I have Bell's Palsy.
Angry and frustrated I completed another e-INSULT form that told me to call 111. After 30 minutes, all they could suggest was for me to call the surgery and be firm. I was eventually given an appointment. A different doctor took one look into my ear and confirmed a bacterial infection.
This e-INSULT system might work for a few ailments to sift out the time wasters, but generally I think it's dangerous and not fit for purpose.

The recent change to e-consult forces one to tick inapplicable boxes in order to proceed. I was delighted with the product before this change was made. Adding "None of the above" would be helpful
Disgraceful
Disgraceful. The whole process is very stressful, multiplies the affects of anxiety and affects your whole mood. When your getting over a mental breakdown and suffer with anxiety, stress, depression it heightens the affects. Those who suffer with symptoms like this should still be able to call the Dr's surgery to make an appointment, which is hard enough itself to do. Having no other option but to do the online process makes things much worse. It must be even worse for those who suffer severely with mental health. Also the elderly who aren't use to using the Internet and completing the online process, I can't imagine how many give in due to the process, all the questions.If not done correct, you have to start whole process again. I hate to think of the amount of suicides and deaths caused as not an easy process to complete. Total and utter disgrace. After 2 days im still waiting for a reply after reporting low mood,suicidal, thoughts of self harm, pains in chest and other private issues.

Not 24hrs access to surgeries. (They choose their own hours) total waste of tax payers money. Well done NHS.
A dreadful system
A dreadful system. You have to invent symptoms simply in order to get an appointment - and my GP agrees! Unless my GP practice resumes telephone appointments I shall complain to the PHSO. Normally I would say 'do not touch with a bargepole' but what choice do we tax-paying patients have in the matter?

There is one one function that Econsult fulfills well - reduce the load on NHS (which also means you [as a patient] get to F off).
No consideration for women's health
No consideration for women's health. This is a terrible system that forces you to present a 'problem' and go through their triaging for common requests such as booking an appointment for a cervical smear. I've had to answer dozens of irrelevant questions simply because this isn't designed to consider basic women's health needs.
