We have stayed here for two months now. Following a burst pipe at our home we had to move out whilst major building work took place. We needed somewhere suitable for commuting to work and the school runs. As a family of five in a four bedroom house we were worried about moving temporarily into a two bedroom flat (sleeps 6 with the sofa bed) but the location was perfect so decided as it was for a short period of time and as it looked so nice on the pictures we would go for it.
We have not been disappointed at all. We have all loved our stay here, the children have told us how much they will miss it when we leave.
The apartment is in exceptional condition and was very clean when we arrived which in this current climate was reassuring. It hasn’t felt cramped at all with all five of us here. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is lovely we have enjoyed being able to cook meals whilst watching the kids playing with their toys and helping them with homework all at the same time. We have had a great time here as a family it’s been like a holiday
The sofa bed in the living room is comfy and easy to get out and put back. The kids have had the bedrooms, so again the thought of two months on a Sofa bed was a worry but it’s actually been fine.
Both bathrooms are great, as are the bedrooms with nice we big comfy beds and both with modern smart TVs in them.
The apartment has pretty much everything you need, plenty of fresh bedding and towels, enough kitchen utensils for our family, a dishwasher and washing machine/tumble dryer.
You cannot fault the apartment itself I could go on for a long time about all the things I like about it. However it’s the small touches that really made the difference... I told Alec our circumstances and concerns, he told us that the flat would be adequate for the five of us and he was not wrong. He left a gift and personalised note for each of our children which they loved and instantly made them feel welcome and at ease during what has been a tough time for them having to leave their home all of a sudden. He also left a mountain of chocolates and snacks for them! In the cupboards he left us nice coffee, tea, sugar, some condiments, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid and all the cleaning products you need. In the bathrooms were nice (posh) hand soaps, shampoos, conditioners and shower gels. All of which made the move a lot easier and if you came for a short stay you would not need to bring anything yourself.
We have only had one issue whilst we were here which was the lock breaking on the communal bin cupboard outside. I emailed Alec when I discovered it and he fixed the problem the same day.
There is a nice little play area five minutes up the road and the train station is only a 10 minute walk away.
I have waffled on a lot, but I feel the apartment and host deserve a great review. I would happily recommend staying here to anyone and will be thinking up a reason to come back myself!
