This is the most shameful excuse for a service!
I am about to loose my job thanks to the ineptitude of these people. And why can't you talk to anyone!!??? My advice to anyone told to stop driving for six months is to just stop driving NOT to revoke your license, you will never get it back in time to go back to work before you get the sack!

DVLA! TRULY A REGIME LATE 1930's GERMANY WOULD BE PROUD OF!!

It is a legal requirement to update your details. I require a change of address nothing else. Tried online, repeatedly for 2 days, and was timed out on every session. Despite many of my answers being stored on pop up boxes from previous sessions. I timed my last attempt and I got all the way to my email address in less than 5 minutes. I pressed next and was met by the "your session has timed out" screen. I was well within the 20 minutes they allow for each session. I even tried leaving it several hours before trying again to no avail. I even tried their online chat service, waited 17 minutes for an advisor, who read my answers to the chat bot and was fully aware that all I needed was to change my address, I had satisfied ALL their security questions. I wrote several messages which were not answered appropriately and referred me back to trying online. I stated again I just need an address change, I have satisfied the security questions and asked why he couldn't just do it for me. To be told afer around 22 minutes that it could only be done online or by post!!! WHY OH WHY DIDN'T HE JUST TELL ME THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! OR EVEN SIMPLER JUST PROGRAM THE CHAT BOT RESPONSE TO "CHANGE OF ADDRESS!!" I have read many of the 1 star reviews and DVLA thoroughly deserves every iota of criticism aimed at it. To the idiot who gave them 5 stars for a personal number plate change I truly hope at some point in your future dealing with the DVLA that you fall foul of of it authoritarian regime.

TURTLE DVLA SERVICE

WHO PUT THESE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHANGING DRIVING LICENCE?

THEY ARE DOING IT 3 TIMES... FIRST TIME MISTAKE ON MY NAME. I don't know who is typing there, but I attached my passport and everything, and they sent my driving licence with a mistake. It would have been 100% better to keep my previous licence from my home country and not have anything to do with them.

SECOND TIME THE SAME (I'VE WAITED AGAIN FOR 2 MONTHS) AND AGAIN MISTAKE, LOL. GUYS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE? ARE YOU SIPPING COFFEE AND SITTING IN AN SPA OR WORKING?

THIRD TIME - I'M DONE - REALLY I DON'T CARE ANYMORE

I LOST TIME, OPPORTUNITIES, COULDN'T TAKE A CAR FOR JOB ..LOST, COULDN'T GO ABROAD NOTHING ...COULDN'T DO ANYTHING BC OF THESE TURTLE SERVICE

Don't reply to emails.
2 months I've been trying to contact them.
2 months I can't tax my car because I never received the log book.
They are all after you if you do somthing wrong.
But when you try to do the right thing you can't get hold of them.

Ordered a new private plate on Sunday, V750 arrived Wednesday!

Never had any issues with DVLA registrations.

Seems most of the reviews are not about DVLA registrations so maybe some of these people should hand thier licences back if they can't even read the correct description on Trustpilot!

Great examiner and efficient service

I had a driving test last Friday morning and received my driving license on Monday, it’s very efficient.
I’d like to express my appreciation of Burgess hill driving center examiner, Mr Matt. He’s really good to help me keep calm in the test. It’s very important to candidates. I do believe getting nervous in the test is common and will affect their performance. But if the examiner like Matt, it does help.

Absolutely diabolical company

Absolutely diabolical company! I can only imagine they are still all watching Netflix like they did throughout the pandemic and getting paid for it. They clearly aren’t doing any work! Applied for a license nearly a year ago and it was rejected due to having a seizure and doctor and specialist wrote to dvla to confirm I only had the seizure due to an acute infection which was treated in hospital over 4 years ago. I don’t suffer with seizures. Dvla have taken their sweet time. Offered a job which I have had to put on hold twice now. Written to the chair executive and no reply by letter or email, she couldn’t care less. They are terrible the way they put people’s lives on hold and they just simply do not care. They are so disorganised. This company deserves no stars but there is no option for that. I really feel for the thousands of people that are having to wait for applications back because the dvla are so incompetent. They are denying people job opportunities and it is disgusting. They are quick enough to contact people about taxing their car it makes you laugh, yet you need something from them and they will keep you waiting months and months and months and months on end. I just hope that these people are taken to court one day and there is a big scandal in the news about this and people get justice

DVLA Changing Direct Debit

I recently changed banks. My new bank did not transfer direct debits so I need to change the details with DVLA.
You would have thought that this would be simple. Not a bit of it!
DVLA say ask your bank to do it!! What rubbish. The DVLA web site is very very poor. After lots of searching I eventually found a option to contact them, but all it did was send me an automated email to tell me to ring them up!
I doubt anyone from DVLA ever reads this, or cares. But if you do, please know that I hold you and your organisation in the lowest contempt possible.

My licence was revoked last April as I have had restricted side vision all my life and have recently been diagnosed with age related dry macular degeneration. Why has it taken this long for the DVLA to finally say that my licence will not be renewed. This long delay has had a detrimental effect on my overall health.
The staff involved in my case have acted liked robots and have refused to look at my case on an individual basis. They have simply stated that I cannot meet the written guidelines. I am a safe driver and have been driving for over 50 years without any accidents. I asked if I could take a driving ability test but this was refused.
If the DVLA departments are typical of all government offices the country is in serious trouble. It takes up to 10 working days for information to be put onto the system. It is not possible to speak to a doctor or senior person reviewing your case. Letters from the DVLA are either very badly written making it impossible to understand what is required or just a useless standard letter.
It is a complete waste of time following the set complaints procedure. After failing to get a resolution from the complaints team, as a final step I wrote to the Chief Executive of the DVLA and Mark Harper the MP in charge of the DVLA but both letters were handed back to the complaints team to deal with.
The whole organisation right to the top is a complete and utter shambles and in need of an in depth investigation and should be sorted out.

Awful & heartless

Awful! The DVLA are heartless. They do not care about serving/helping the public. They do things in their own sweet time. If you complain, they simply ignore you. They don’t care about the fact you have done everything required. They have a ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude. Takes 3 weeks for them to even open a letter- which is confirmed on their current telephone automated message. Their medical team are awful too. How can they get away with this?

I have reported 2 repeat 2 untaxed…

I have reported 2 repeat 2 untaxed vehicles without MOTs on two occasions over 6 weeks ago to the DVLA The vehicles are still lying in the same spot yards apart ? How difficult could it be to have the vehicles clamped or even better uplifted .

They don't care for anything other than money.

My only interaction with DVLA aside from applying for my license in 2017 has been to appeal a fine given to me for not being insured on a vehicle I sold 6 months prior to the 'offence' date.
I appealed the penalty, they updated the vehicle records but still issued me the fine.
You can argue it's the owners' due diligence to update records or perform a successful sale, but I was doubly mistreated by one an unfaithful buyer and two being fined for someone else wronging me.

Absolute joke

Absolute joke . Customer Service is pointless as you get no information or time scale when waiting to hear from a medical , on hold for nearly 1 hour eventime I called , been waiting 2 months now with no email , no letter no nothing .....I've missed work opportunities due to this thank you dvla 😡

If I could give no stars I would . The most incompetent company I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with . They got my sons name wrong on his provisional license and said I had to change his name on all documents to match his license!! I can’t explain how angry they make me . They did the same thing 2 years ago with my other son and eventually rectified it but this time either though the name is the same format they refused to change it . Unbelievable
