As a long-standing customer of DHL for the past 6 years, I am writing to express my disappointment with DHL Express NZ. I experienced a delay in payment to DHL of total $1500NZD in February due to importing a large quantity of shoes into New Zealand. It was a temporary problem. However, I informed DHL that I would wait for the shoes to arrive before paying, and I kept my word by paying in full once they arrived. Additionally, I had 25 orders to ship that were previously clogged as pre-orders since December.
Despite my efforts to resolve the issue, DHL closed my account and has refused to reopen it. This decision is particularly concerning, given that I have spent $38,942.75NZD annually for the past 6 years with DHL.
DHL's suggestion of using direct debit to clear the outstanding balance did not seem like a genuine solution since the availability of funds is a crucial factor. It is disheartening to see that large corporations like DHL are not in tune with the realities of small businesses.
Although paying invoices on a weekly basis may be a better option, DHL has not provided me with this option. Instead, they decided to close my account abruptly by saying that $1500 nzd delay in payment is
the stability and financial risk for DHL.
Unfortunately, despite my contributions, I feel that I've been treated unfairly recently.
It is evident that they do not value loyal customers.

NZ Shipping times have increased…
NZ Shipping times have increased considerably. Once upon a time, DHL would hand off packages to NZpost and within 12-24 hours they are delivered. Well, now - Its changed... Packages now sit in auckland for a few days before going out to regions for delivery.
We don't pay for packages to sit in your warehouses, DHL/NZPost. We pay for the packages to be delivered.

Apparently DHL has its own Customs department which is operated separately to NZ CUSTOMS pretty sure that would be frowned upon, if not bordering illegal.
Also they do not talk to or converse with NZ CUSTOMS even after multiple phone conversations with the team at NZ CUSTOMS who assured me all the details of Clearance and Payment were forwarded to DHL as the package I received was over the $1000 threshold.
Honestly the incompitance of DHL is beyond belief 1st and last time using them, don't bother using DHL period.

My parcel arrived in NZ on 11 December 2022. It has not moved past "arrived at facility". DHL tell me something different everytime I call and fob me off blaming customs and NZ Post. The customer service is non existent. I will never use DHL again.

DHL was used by a company in Hong Kong to get my parcel to New Zealand. The updates along the way via the app and email keep you informed all the way including customs check in Auckland the delivery to Christchurch was quick and when the parcel was handed on to NZ Post for Rural Delivery both kept me informed of the delivery progress. Parcel left Hong Kong Tuesday delivered to me Saturday. Thankyou DHL and NZ Post
Very impressed!
I purchased something online from Australia (in the week leading up to Christmas I might add). I opted for DHL express shipping as it was only a few dollars extra and I really wanted this item to arrive before new years, but didn't have high hopes as everything seems to get stuck processing in Auckland. I was very pleasantly surprised when the item arrived to me in Hamilton within 24 hours of being shipped from Aus! Much appreciated.
DHL service is pathetic
DHL service is pathetic! The driver lied twice and pushed the random message “we tried to deliver but no one was home’. Ringing their main office and querying was not much help either as they tried to cover up. This message was sent twice in a week making us feel like we were stupid and not hearing the door bell. They admitted that the driver didn’t have enough runs in the area so didn’t deliver! Further delaying my parcel. Reported to the supplier about DHL service. Please stay away from this company as their service is like a 3rd grade !!

My parcel was stolen
My parcel was stolen.
They did ABSOLUTELY nothing really to help me with it. Do not use this shipping courier as they are extremely unhelpful I was notified that my package was in her mailbox and if I hadve been maybe I could’ve gotten to the package in time it wouldn’t have been stolen. They basically told me there was nothing they could no longer help me with.
What is wrong with DHL?
We are waiting for something important to be delivered. They don’t have the courtesy to press the good damn bell! The driver just drive by and see a quiet house and leave? No tracking or whatsoever. F this inefficient company! It’s been twice and we are literally at home tracking, clicking on the link without any updates, only to receive a message with failed delivery attempt. Maybe the want us to sit outside the house the whole day and place down a red carpet for them to arrive with our parcel? How can such a big company train such pigs in this service industry? Is it a country thing?

Another failed shipment!!! I don't know to whom to complain because they are covering each others mistakes. my parcel was never been delivered 3 times I was home and there is no👆one comes to knock in door. since I can't redirect it on website I had to be very patient about all this. Only if I knew the company who sent me parcel was using DHL I would 100% cancel my order and to be honest I'm sick of (free delivery scheme) because you don't know what company they are using. DHL again shame on you!!!

Worst company I have ever dealt with 2 weeks and counting on an express package, was told in morning they will get it on way then called in afternoon and told didn't get put on the shuffle.
Sounded like was going be fast when they rang to try get my company's business but after this I will use anyone but them.
Appalling service
Such a bad service. I sent documents from NZ and I filled the shipment details online. I provided a branch address for the receiver address as I want the shipment to be collected from the branch. They put the item on hold. I called them asking why. They advised me that they need the receiver's physical address for security purposes. I provided that and they reassured me that the information has been forwarded to the team and I should not expect delays. The following day, the shipment was still on hold. I called again asking why. They advised me they need the receiver photo ID. I sent that to them and they informed me that it's been forwarded to the team. The shipment today is still on hold. I called again asking again why. This time, they don't know why it's on hold and I should wait the whole weekend to get a reply at the beginning of next week. I paid almost 300NZD only to get this appalling service!
This reflects the work culture/environment in the company - no one cares!

Have to give a 1 star. I mean they did manage to deliver the suitcase to the right place in the time frame quoted.
Shame that the suitcase was saturated. As a consequence the contents were soaked in stagnant bog smelling water.
All books were ruined, clothing soaking and foul smelling and some ruined too.
Suitcase received some heavy damage enough to shatter the external wheel and the section of the wheel inside the suitcase too.
Delivered like this by the UK driver ...... and just left for us to discover.
First time worst experience
First time i have had the worst experience with DHL. We tracked the parcel and it was stopped by MPI 20th Sept 2022. But we didn't get a reply from DHL till 27th Sept 2022.
So i rang up on the 27th and gave my email address. - No correspondence come the 29th. I rang again at 0830 on the 29th and was told the operator i spoke with prior on the 27th never put my email address on the requested note they had.
The fact there's a letter showing Medsafe allowing the parcel through should indicate that we need the parcel but DHL just take their time to communicate.
Let's see what happens next...
