If I could, I would give -5 stars. I sold my phone in February 2023 with this company. I recently discovered that since then every month an amount of first £ 4.95 and a few months later an amount £ 9.95 from a company called Cybersentry with a McAfee reference was taken out of my bank account via direct debit. After becoming suspicious and some digging, I found out that this was in connection with the sale of my phone via We Buy Any Phone. It turns out that as soon as you sign up to them and provide them with your bank account details, they automatically sign you up for a subscription for a VPN and Anti Virus with Cybersentry without informing you. They pass your details to Cybersentry and they start taking money out of your account. Even though on the very bottom of their T&Cs it is mentioned that they subscribe you to Cybersentry, they break trading standards. Strangely enough, the CEO of We Buy Any Phone (Alex Berthonneau) also is the CEO of Cybersentry. And even more strange, when I've cancelled the subscription with Cybersentry, I was sent a one time passcode and at the same time, I received an email from We Buy Any Phone with a one time passcode although I have not requested it. This company is scamming you and are fraudulent. I will report them to Trading Standards and I also will file a DDIC with my bank. @We Buy Any Phone, don't even dare to reply with a copy and paste answer. The Trade in ID #A-T-4K2RB and I want the money back that you have stolen from me. You obviously have my details which you illegally have used. I also found out, that even if you do not sell your phone with We Buy Any Phone and just sign up, they automatically pass your details including bank details to Cybersentry and the subscription with Cybersentry starts.

Looking at other reviews. Same happened to me. DD set up on my account. Cancelled before collecting anything. Disgusting. Never use we buy anyphone again.

Would give zero stars if I could. This is a we buy any phone scam. They give ur bank details to this company to setup a direct debit. Disgusting behaviour and I don’t know how this hasn’t been stopped already!

Another customer stung by the automatic sharing of bank account details between WeBuyAnyPhone and CyberSentry. By agreeing to the T&Cs of WBAP you agree to your bank details being shared with CyberSentry and the payments to be taken.
To make matters worse I didn't even proceed with the sale to WBAP as they low balled the offer.

Absolute scam. Will never use either company again as a result.

Total we buy any phone scan merchants, gave my details and this appeared not opted in or anything! Reported to bank and deleted

Scam artists.
Call your bank right away. Report we by any phone to trading standards as being complicit in the con.

SCAM

Spotted this direct debit today on my account, had no idea what it was from, a random 6.95 leaving my account for last 6 months. I went to sell a mobile a while back and added my sort code and account number so can only assume its a scam company on behalf of them. Fortunately, funds claimed back via DD indemnity claim.

As with other people, I sold a phone to we buy any phone and somehow this DD appeared. I never signed up to this and have reported to bank.

Absolute thieves as everybody has written below scammed into a mystery subscription that I didn’t agree to . Only fount out when money started leaving my account , some how connected to we buy any phone , steer

Huge scam! Sold a phone via webuyanyphone. Suddenly saw payments for this I never agreed to. Avoid the company!

It’s a scam! I sold my phone to we buy any phone and then saw direct debits coming out of my account which I never authorised! I’ve now cancelled the direct debit. Absolutely disgusting how many people they have victimised! Definitely will not be using we buy any phone again nor will I recommend them

Was mislead into a subscription bywebuyany phone.com. Suddenly money £6.95 starts to be taken from my account, be careful. It’s definitely not clear that you are entering into any subscription. However easy to cancel, luckily I check my current account outgoings daily and caught it early enough

Wow I thought I was the only one this happened too. I spotted it yesterday for the first payment DD of £6.95 . I cancelled the setup immediately. Has since spoke to my bank to make them aware that I didn’t authorise this. Hope I get my money back and these guys get shut down. The scamming gits

WeBuyAnyPhone is a scam company - they paid way less than promised for my phone and then started charging me monthly direct debits.
