Had a nice stay with Cumbrian Cottages, we stayed in Wetheral. I have relayed a few minor issues to Cumbrian Cottages themselves and do not deem it necessary to reiterate on here as I received a helpful, considered response. Just to say we didn’t contact the owner regarding these issues as they were not really of relevance and we didn’t feel it necessary. Cumbrian Cottages information was very useful throughout, the emails and contact was friendly and helpful, the cottage was a very pleasant place to stay and we would stay again.

Location was great for us, size of property ideal, very well equipped, very clean.

Beautiful one bedroom cottage, luxury standard. Great location, very pretty with walks nearby. Easy to get to - just off the M6. Easy to book - no hassle. Have no hesitation in recommending.

Really enjoyed our stay, great location and the bonus of a parking space, perfect.

The Duke of Portland Boathouse was perfect for our first wedding anniversary. The accommodation was as good as was promoted, immaculately clean and so comfortable. The view across the lake was stunning. We were very impressed with the amount of logs available for the wood burning stove. The underfloor heating kept us very cosy too.
Everything was perfect. Cumbria cottage holidays were easy to communicate with too.

Wow 🤩 I’d driven past this boathouse in Ullswater so many times but it was always booked up way in advance. One day I got lucky and actually managed to book it for a birthday treat. It’s such a rare find and the Views are simply stunning. It’s the perfect cosy hideaway for a romantic getaway. Absolutely stunning. Well worth the wait. Only downside was that it was only available for one night 😢

My partner and I have stayed at the beautiful boathouse two times now, for each of our 30th birthdays. We love it there, the lakes incredible scenery goes without saying but the boathouse itself is so cosy and welcoming it feels like a home from home. We will always cherish our memories of visiting and recommend anyone with the opportunity to do so to go.

We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend the Silecroft Cottage! The hosts thought of absolutely everything. It was extremely clean, detailed and was so, so cozy!

Comfortable and warm. Lots of logs supplied for the effective wood burning stove. Good hot shower. Excellent location (can even walk to Penrith railway station, 2hrs on the Eamont Way). Off road space for one car. Spacious lawn meant easy to build two snowmen.

Lovely apartment, decorated beautifully for Christmas, super helpful hosts. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!

The house was generally spacious and comfortable. It was very clean, but with a few maintenance issues (e.g. windowsill in bedroom crumbled away).
The two twin rooms were lovely. Sadly the "double" room was not. It is far too small, the bed was squashed in with barely space to walk round it, so the wardrobe was on the landing. The bed was a standard double (i.e. fairly small) and uncomfortable.
The table was unusable because the alcove it is in didn't give enough space to pull the chairs out to sit at it. Also, the ground floor needs curtains that actually close - the house is on two busy streets and is like a goldfish bowl in the dark.
The kitchen was well equipped and the
Milk and shortbread were a lovely welcoming touch.

Booking from Australia was very easy and stress free. Although I was familiar with the area my cottages where in a perfect location for that part of my journey

Beautiful stylish house lots of original features mixed perfectly with modern fixtures. It has been finished to a very high degree and lots of added extras to make your stay there very comfortable. Central location only a few steps away from wine bars restaurants and shops. We would definitely recommend a stay at Egerton House.

Very helpful and informative over the phone. Owners were very polite and made us feel welcome, would definitely recommend for a romantic getaway. Hot tub was perfect and the cabin exceeded my expectations, was a really nice experience.
