Avoid this travel insurance company! Extremely unprofessional! I wasted so much time waiting for an answer to a simple question about my travel insurance. They took ages to reply, and their response had nothing to do with my question. They use canned copy-paste responses without actually addressing the issue. I had a terrible experience with them.

Easy, affordable and excellent packages for over 60s
I travel an extreme amount right now with my tour company. As an older traveller, it was almost impossible to get extended cover while having the audacity to be over 65! C2G made this seamless, exceptionally easy and very affordable. I would highly recommend both personally and for my EVA Volunteer Travel guests.

Policy renewal issues
Because at time of renewal of my policy I had extreme trouble with Millstream who simply never answer the phone. Thankfully. Both Grace and Shannon worked very hard to make Millstream contact me. Without the help of both ladies I would not have been able yo renew my policy with you.

Buying their insurance is a cumbersome experience.
The need to buy two separate insurances is a real nuisance. Phone lines to covered2go are very busy and it takes ages for anyone to answer. The medical health insurance part (Millstream on Line) has a dreadful website. It keeps getting my wife's age wrong and it's impossible to enter her correct age. A very, very cumbersome and irritating process. Subsequent Amendment
I have amended this review in the light of Covered2Go's response. Their customer care department is actually very good. It responded promptly and professionally to my complaints and all in all the quality of their response is very reassuring. I have therefore increased the original star rating from one star to three. Millstream on Line continues to make errors in the second policy holder's date of birth, however, and this is worrying. That said I have purchased both insurance policies - that of c2go and that of Millstream and am sure that, in the hopefully unlikely event of a claim, they will respond professionally. But I do wish that they would, like other companies, amalgamate both insurances into one single process.

There appears to be a disconnect…
There appears to be a disconnect between the various departments used by Covered2Go. The on- line system is very difficult to access when declaring medical screening information and there is an extremely long wait on the telephone system to connect to screening personnel. The purchasing process is not seamless, uses different reference numbers and requires the customer, to follow up with each department. Renewal premiums are debited immediately whilst refunds take several days, and are not automatic.

We appreciate that being redirected to a separate website/team to complete your medical screening, along with receiving different reference numbers and making separate payments, can make the process feel disjointed.
As we are not currently medically authorised, the medical screening is carried out separately by our underwriters, Millstream. If cover is available for any declared medical conditions, any additional premium is paid directly to them, which is why this forms a separate part of the purchase process. We are currently in the process of merging the two systems to make a more streamlined policy sale experience for customers.
We are also sorry to hear about the lengthy wait you experienced when trying to contact the medical screening team. This is currently their busiest time of year and, unfortunately, telephone waiting times can be longer than usual. We do hope that you had no similar difficulties getting in touch with us at Covered2Go.
We would also like to reassure you that we do not store or retain customers’ card details, helping to protect your payment information. As a result, policies are not renewed or charged automatically. Instead, we send a series of renewal invitations ahead of expiry, allowing customers to choose whether they wish to purchase a new policy.
We appreciate your comments regarding the overall customer journey and will take your feedback on board as we continue to look at ways we can make the process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Less cover than before.
I have been with Covered2Go for some time now and find their cover and price very competitive (although luckily I have not yet had cause to claim).
Sadly they have taken Morocco off their European list so I would have to purchase a more expensive policy (I usually have an annual policy) to continue my cover with them. Sadly I will have to look elsewhere now.

Well priced and good comms
What made Covered2Go stand out from the other 2 Which? best buys I looked at, was that Covered2Go made it easy to get further information about potential policies without engaging in sales pitches by call centre people clearly on commission. They were really responsive and answered the questions asked. Written information made comparisons with other policies really easy. Price wise they were significantly cheaper whilst offering more enhanced coverage. One star docked because the process of linking the separate medical endorsement paperwork to their hub was harder work than it needed to be.
