RUN. FAST.

RUN. Do not even consider buying from this company. I ordered a bedroom set May 8th for $2,698 from a company doing business as Furniture Nearly which turns out to be a Comstrom company. I didn't know this when I ordered, I found a few average reviews for Furniture Nearly online. Their name suits them as I nearly had my furniture....
End of June comes along, after being strung along on the phone that the furniture was back-ordered but would arrive at their warehouse soon. The next week I am told that the order is in the warehouse but he doesn't know why it hasn't shipped out, so he puts me on hold, returns and says it will go out the next week. Next week comes and goes so I call back and the rep says the order was damaged and they can't ship it and have to wait until September to get another set so I agree to cancel the order and they refunded the money. BUT WAIT! It doesn't end there. A few days later they call me telling me they have the order and it is ready to ship. I tell the guy that I was told it was damaged. He assured me it wasn't damaged and they would take $100 if I wanted to resume the order. I told him I would once the credit card company was refunded, I wasn't about to have two payments held for one order. It took a few days and the refund was complete so I re-ordered. The furniture was delivered about a week later. I met the driver at the back of the truck, he told me to inspect it because the packaging was damaged. Two of the six boxes looked like they fell off a truck and got run over by another truck. We got them in the garage and opened the boxes, sure as heck two of the items were damaged, one with cosmetic damage which wouldn't have been an absolute deal breaker but the other was damaged beyond any usability. The driver noted all the damage on the bill of lading and provided an exception #. I emailed the rep and generic return email address for Comstrom and still nothing. I just want them to take everything away. My next step is to see what the credit card company will do if anything. I would love to be able to post pictures here, if I did you would definitely take my advice and run.

Good grief this was the worst…

Good grief this was the worst experience I have ever had. Ordered a dining table from a company called European Furniture Store with a CA address, only to find that it’s owned and operated by a company called Comstrom. Convenient that having a different name meant I didn’t see any of the terrible reviews.

Order the table early April for our new home and expected delivery date is April 29th. Amazing. I got an email after ordering confirming that I bought a table. A couple weeks went by and I hadn’t gotten an update on shipping or anything so I called and a nice man told me it was in process and I would get confirmation/tracking that Monday (this was Friday). Awesome. Nothing Monday, I waited until Friday to call back because I was getting a little concerned. The customer service line just kept ringing.

Over the weekend I got an email that looked like spam, it was so unprofessional. It said something along the lines of “your order is heavy and requires a lift gate, here’s a link to pay another $99.”

I called customer service again and this time the rep was a horrendous little human being! I asked if there was some kind of error since I’d received an odd request for more money weeks after the purchase date. He said “It’s not an error you have to pay more for shipping. Company policy.” I’m not sure if they’ve just gotten away with this so many times before they think it’s ok, but when a buyer and seller agree on a price for a product and you’ve received the payment, that’s binding…. Nothing material had changed (did the table grow?!) and the company arbitrarily increased their charge.

I imagine in a lot of cases when you’ve already waited weeks for a piece of furniture it seems like the path of least resistance and I feel like that’s what they’re counting on. I’m 100% in the same boat but also very stubborn so that wasn’t going to fly.

OK, back to the steaming pile of a customer service rep on the phone, he says “Don’t know what to tell you. Either pay or cancel the order.”

At this point I want the table but I would literally have rather paid a lawyer thousands of dollars to make them deliver on our agreement than give that customer service guy a dime. I did the next best thing and asked my boyfriend to take care of it ;)

His conversation a few days later was more pleasant but WEIRD. This new customer service rep mentioned nothing about a fee for delivery and was saying it looked like it should ship soon, he didn’t know why it hadn’t already. At this point I’ve started researching the nightmarish hell that is Comstrom and told him to just cancel regardless. He tells the rep thanks but go ahead and cancel the order… at which point the rep says “oh please don’t cancel yet! Can you wait until tomorrow?” He said no, and the rep told him they cannot cancel over the phone - only via email.

Before they had hung up the phone I sent an email canceling our order.

Two days later I’ve got a shipping confirmation from Comstrom in my inbox?? Upon closer inspection I noticed the ship date was April 16th (it’s now early May) and it’s going from one location in CA to another (I live in TX). Boyfriend calls back yet again to ask what the deal is and they legitimately have no clue what’s going on. It hasn’t shipped. That was the shipment to Comstrom or something. They’re still waiting on our $99 extra dollars and sitting on my $1,300 payment.

He tells them I’d canceled already via email and they claim to have no record of said email. He cancels over the phone. This time they can magically cancel over the phone.

I followed up with another email cancellation requesting that they respond to acknowledge this and give an estimated timeline for return payment. Nothing for a week, maybe longer… at this point time is irrelevant and we’re just living in Comstrom’s nightmare.

This past weekend I wrote yet another request for cancellation stating that I’d be filing a fraud claim with my credit card company and a complaint with BBB if they did not respond by today, May 10th. I’ll give you one guess how that turned out. They’ve already got an F with Better Business Bureau so what do they care?

Run. These people are borderline criminals, but like the extremely stupid ones rather than the cool and sophisticated con men. Absolute jokers running a shady operation into the ground.

I hope this helped someone somewhere. Had a little fun with the adjectives but it’s all true and still a continuing saga.

I ordered two tables from this company on March 5.
After many emails finally on April 5, it showed shipped.
Although FEDEX never got the package. On May 3 I asked for a refund and supposedly they refunded
it but they have not. I am out $397

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. Do not order from them. I bought a piece of furniture and after a month it still had not shipped. I contacted them and they said I needed to pay 89 more dollars for oversized item shipping or cancel my order. I paid it and still could not get a tracking number. After 2 weeks I told them to cancel my order and refund my money multiple times. I kept getting responses that they would refund it and never received any refunds. Now I am out over $500 dollars.

This is fraud

This is fraud. Placed an order on 12/7/20 for end tables costing me several hundred U.S. Dollars. After over 30 days of no communication from them, I wrote customer service requesting a shipping update. I was provided only a ticket number and no login credentials to view it. They didn't even attempt to answer the question. After restating my request for a shipping date now over 45 days after purchase, I was told it could be up to 90 days for re-stocking let alone shipping. Clearly they had no intention to honor the purchase and actually ship the tables. I will be reporting them to my credit card company and the CFPB.

I wish I didn’t even have to give one star but it won’t let you give negative stars. This is the worst company ever. Do not order from this site. You will NOT get what you ordered trust me! I foolishly did not read reviews on this company when I ordered a nightstand, had I done so would have spared myself a lot of trouble. It took weeks to manage to get delivery for which I had to call a third party delivery company that this company uses to get it delivered and they were an equally bad experience. They unloaded what was clearly NOT what I ordered so I refused delivery. I contacted customer service, who by the way you cannot talk to on the phone you can only email them and then they will eventually quit replying, so I emailed the contact and explained what happened. I told him I just wanted a refund. Clearly however I was not going to be credited so I finally disputed through PayPal and did get my refund. Horrible company, horrible customer service, horrible experience!

Let this be a warning to everyone out…

Let this be a warning to everyone out there. I hope and pray you read this before ever buying from these people.

Hands down the worst company out there. Customer service doesn't even have a clue on how to communicate with their customers. They take days to get back to you, even if they do write you back.

I asked for a refund and never heard from them again.

My feet didn't fit in their foot soaker so I asked for a refund. Nothing. No one has written back and I'm out $130 bucks.

I'd write the attorney general to file a complaint, but with Covoid-19 going on I'm sure they have better things to do.

Please, please dont every buy from this company. They are horrible.

Fast Service

the agent took my order. the guys were prompt enough to tell me the right bounce house for my kid and the blower that went with it. took the order. The order was shipped the next day. my kid got his bounce house in 4 days. much before his birthday. he has started playing on it. thanks.

Will NEVER order from here again

We placed an order on May 9. After waiting a while, emailed customer service and was told the chair was on backorder. Not ideal, but ok. This was a gift for my 17 year old for her birthday. We are now at August 4 and still no chair and no ship date in sight. Will NEVER use this website again. My kid is so disappointed she hasn’t gotten her chair.

My homey Design bed came in today

I got my bed today. Since I'm a single mother with two little ones, there was no way I could bring it in and set up. I paid the delivery guys few extra bucks and they set up everything for me and removed the debris. I had ordered a homey design bed with nightstand, dresser and mirror. It was very well packaged. The guys who delivered were super nice. They were kind enough to wait for me until came back home. They waited until I checked all the pieces. The service was good that I could not stop thanking them and Comstrom for prompt delivery of my furniture. Highly Recommended. Will tell my friends about this place too.

I ordered a couch on 5/27. You immediately billed my credit card which is unethical if not illegal - certainly against accounting rules. I have had to pay in full for my couch and as of 7/8 I still dont have it. Horrible customer support. I will cancel by end of July if I dont have it and dispute the charges through my credit card company. You should NOT have billed me over 1 month before shipping my item. Disgraceful.

You lied to me telling me "we dont have the color you ordered but have "red" in stock" So I swithced to red and you still took 2-3 more weeks to ship it. Plus you had already charged my card the day I ordered it - despite not having that color in stock. That is not Covid fault. That is deceit. If you have an item in stock it shouldnt take 3 weeks to ship.

Proven Trustworthy

I never knew about Comstrom until recently and I've made 3 orders since and other than a shipping delay on one order everything has been perfect and honestly can't blame Comstrom for the product delay given the current situation. The only complaint I had was that no one contacted me to inform me of the delay and I was forced to contact them after never getting a shipping notice for my order. But the customer service rep got back to me quickly and explained the situation and of course I understood. But will I shop here again? Absolutely! Would I recommend Comstrom to others? Definitely and already have. With so many new online merchants, you never know which are legit but at Comstrom you get what you pay for.

We are disappointed in the workmanship

We are disappointed in the workmanship. There are several burrs around edges that look bad. The veneer on the front looks really bad as it is laid over the other veneer. It looks like whoever made it did not care how it looked.

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. I need to return the item and the people I speak with
just keep telling me that they will send me the information I need to return it but I never get it. The item is still here to be returned and I it's very difficult to speak to the person who is going to help me.

Lies, lies and more lies!

After over a month of the items having been purchased, we are still waiting for our items to be delivered.

They lied about the expected delivery date, and continued to lie about what was really going on, after MULTIPLE calls to get information on what was taking so long.This is a very poor business model and I will never recommend this company to anyone.

There is no "confusion here." The order in question is the one ending in 8161; the one you are referencing was 1 of 2 orders we placed with your company.

I highly doubt that anyone has the time to come and write a bad review just for the sake of it, when they in fact received their order. The same way you were able to do research in order to put this response together, you should have been able to do some further research and see if there was anything that was pending.

Your company issued a tracking number in early June, and the status has remained the same ever since, "Pending." Each time that we have called to get a definitive answer, we have gotten the same response, "that it will ship within 24 to 48 hours." If you guys keep any records of calls received, you should be able to see that there is no "confusion" about what is being stated.
