Love this website!
As a big lover of the cinema, every time I watch a movie Cinema Society is my go to.
Prices are much cheaper than what you pay without an codes are sent instantly.
Only drawbacks are lack of cinema choice (Everyman would be nice to see) and I haven't figured out how to upgrade from a standard to Standard+ seat at Odeon because my local is upgrading all the seats which means I can only use the first 3 rows in most auditoriums.

All in all a great site.

First class Customer Service

The representative that I communicated with could not have been more helpful. Ongoing communication was needed and liaising with a 3rd party company. The cinema society kept me updated at all stages of the process and successfully negotiated a perfect outcome for me. I could not have been more satisfied.

Big scam at ODEON, £2 extra for XL screen so there is no saving. Terms and conditions are unclear. AVOID.

I've been buying cinema tickets for about 4 years. Never had an issue. Buying tickets for 2 adults and 2 teens and I always save at least £10. Amazing service.

I made a mistake ordering the tickets and the team at TCS were quick to help and resolved my issue within 24 hours, very helpful and will use them consistently.

Overly complicated labyrinthine buying process. I have twice bought tickets via the Cinema Society codes on the cinema's website and been charged full price by the cinema AND cut-price by the Cinema Society. No way of getting the money back.

What a waste of time. Saved just over £3 per ticket and then got a booking fee of £3 per ticket.

I had some problems with redeeming my vouchers. The team were helpful and managed to get them all back from me which saved me a lot of money.

Since 2022, I have purchased over £30,000 worth of Cineworld corporate cinema ticket stock through CinemaSocietyVouchers.com & Cinemasocietyclub.com for my business, FilmPass. However, Stripe later confirmed that the transactions for both were processed under WeAreSpark.com — one of several brochure-style brand websites the company has, which I never purchased from.

This caused serious confusion, as the payment descriptor stated “The Cinema Society,” but the legal merchant identity was never disclosed. I submitted a DSAR (data subject access request) to Spark Marketing Services Ltd & Cineworld on 19th December 2024. Spark Marketing Services Ltd was eventually acknowledged by a regulatory and PR solicitor, and on 16th January 2025, Spark requested an additional month to respond. I finally received the DSAR on 13th February 2025.

However, the DSAR responses from both Spark Marketing Services Ltd and Cineworld Cinemas were heavily redacted, citing third-party privacy — despite this being a consumer request for transaction-level data. Both responses failed to include any of the metadata or transaction-level information I had specifically requested. Aside from Spark Marketing Services Ltd's vague mention of Blue Light Card — with no explanation or context — the response provided no details on third-party access, transaction logs, abandoned checkouts, device fingerprinting, or whether behavioural signals had been processed. As a result, key questions remain unanswered — including who controls my data and whether fraud prevention telemetry has been repurposed for marketing insight.

“The Cinema Society” is presented as a standalone brand, yet no legal entity under that name exists — making it impossible to trace accountability or get clarity as a business customer. Due to these concerns, I paused FilmPass on 23rd December 2024 to protect my members.

I’m sharing this to raise awareness about the lack of merchant transparency behind this scheme and to help other businesses avoid the same confusion.

At times, trying to get a straight answer has felt like a scene from Mission: Impossible — except in this version, "the mission" really was impossible. Hidden merchants, brand aliases, and redacted disclosures have made transparency vanish in a puff of marketing smoke.

All I wanted was to know who I was paying for cinema stock, why VAT is being charged on tickets that appear to contradict HMRC’s 2023 determination (that corporate cinema tickets must be classed as MPVs, not SPVs), and whether my metadata — before and after purchase — has been used as data science.

Not a spy thriller.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the confirmation that I was a business customer.
However, this reply does not clarify which legal entity was responsible for processing over £30,000 in transactions. Nor does it address the controller ID confusion, the Stripe descriptor mismatch (“wearespark.com”), or the DSAR redactions.
ISO27001 certification is welcome, but it does not cover profiling, brand aliasing, or consent transparency.
I remain open to resolving this, but your reply confirms the very obfuscation I’ve raised with regulators.

This response has now been logged and will be shared with the ICO as part of the ongoing investigation, as it directly supports my concerns around brand aliasing, legal accountability, and controller clarity.

To correct your public claim: I have purchased from both CinemaSocietyClub.com and CinemaSocietyVouchers.com. The following transactions reflect my use of the club platform — typically 1–10 tickets per day for individual members:

These transactions appear on my bank statements and were processed by Spark Marketing Services Ltd, not a company named “The Cinema Society.” The Stripe payment descriptor used was “CARD PAYMENT TO THE CINEMA SOCIETY” throughout.

This full breakdown will now be submitted to the ICO as part of Annex D11 – Transaction Evidence and Brand Alias Misrepresentation.

For the record, Stripe confirmed that all of these transactions were processed by WeAreSpark.com — not by CinemaSocietyClub.com or CinemaSocietyVouchers.com, where the purchases actually took place.

The merchant you pay isn’t the one you see.

Don't fall to discount pries. For Example you buying tickets via website and they are telling you can save 33% but wen you add vouchers to system per tickets in Oden they add 3£ fee on top. Then you not get tickets cheaper but at the same price what you pay in online booking. And no where you will find when you need pay 3£ extra. On the website says 1£ per ticket on check put all ready 3£ per ticket extra.

Very impressed with my first experience of The Cinema Society Club. Excellent customer service when I messed up.
