We booked a 1 day tour with CCT during our stay in Lijiang, Yunnan. Firstly, Grace was very helpful when helping us plan the itinerary gave us useful tips as we were bringing along an infant. Ms Snow our tour guide was exceptional. She arrived early on the day of the tour. She was very attentive to our baby's needs. She even held my baby so we could eat in ease. Gave us a lot of information about the Naxi (local) culture. Overall had a good experience and will be happy to book again.

16 of us were all seniors. Nora made the excellent choice of places to visit full of culture, history and scenic views. It is my 4th time in China and this is one of the most memorable trip. We travelled from city via train and had local tour guys help with ticket purchasing and transportation to hotels were all smooth. Each local tour guides were very attentive to all our needs and spoke English well. The only regret was too little time for so much to see. But that was our choice. I strongly recommend this company and ask for Nora to help plan your trip! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

This trip was planned and organized by our group leaders, working tirelessly with Nora, our travel consultant. We started out in Beijing and ended in Hong Kong, covering thousands of kilometers and meandering among UNESCO ancient cities and popular mountainous attractions. The planning was satisfactory down to the last details. The local guides, handpicked by Nora, were all very professional. They were not only knowledgeable and friendly but also very passionate about sharing their culture, history and economic development with us. They were also very willing and ready to attend to our different needs and concerns, including medical issues and minute changes to make our trip more enjoyable.

Grace Wang, worked with us through five iterations of the itinerary to develop the best itinerary to fit our needs. Once in China, Grace kept in touch with us to make sure we were pleased along the way. It resulted in a wonderful adventure. China is beautiful.

BEIJING
Beijing Park Plaza - The room was what we expected. It was clean with the best buffet breakfast of all hotels on the trip.
Our guide, Nancy, was excellent. Her English was good and she was a problem solver. We visited the Great Wall on a day when umbrellas were needed. As a result, the view was very limited; however, the umbrellas came in handy as a ‘walking stick’. To limit walking, we drove around Tianamen Square which saved our energy to walk in the huge Forbidden City.

XI'AN
Xi'an Eastern House Boutique Hotel was our least favorite. The room was very cramped for 2 people.
Our guide, Susan, was very knowledgeable and very proud of her city. The Terra Cotta Warriors themselves were very impressive. I loved the dumpling making experience and the chance to peek into the average, middle-class Chinese apartment.

CHENGDU
Dorsett Chengdu Hotel... The room was very spacious. The hotel lacked some of the amenities advertised.
Our guide, Belinda, was very caring. She did her best to make our time at the Panda Center as easy as possible. We took an electric vehicle to the closest possible drop off point but there was still a lot of walking. Our Hot Pot lunch was our favorite of the entire trip.

LESHAN … Giant Buddha
During this day trip, we were still with Belinda. Lots of ancient steps to climb, but it was worth it. Not only the Giant Buddha, but also a Buddhist temple. I enjoyed watching the religious rituals.

DALI
The Linden Centre... A wonderful experience. The setting is a magical with lots of Chinese character. We sipped beverages on the lovely terrace at sundown.
How lucky we were to have Tony as our guide. Tony took us to a local market and for once I felt like I was in the China I dreamed about. Fruits and vegetables I could not identify. Meats and fish that were sold by ethnic groups dressed in traditional clothing. This is how the people shop for their food in Xizhou. Tony fulfilled my cultural need.... tie-dyeing, flower cake and Chinese pancake making, and watching the women of a school that teaches them to needlepoint with silk. Tony and our wonderful driver, Mr. Chang, drove us to Lijiang where I thrilled to find Mr. Chang would be our driver in this next city.

LIJIANG
The Bivou - This boutique hotel is a real gem. This is actually the first time we had dinner on this trip, Room service brought us a lovely ham and cheese toastie and a club sandwich with delicious hot French fries.
All of our guides were excellent but Cindy was given the hardest task. Our agenda was full of obstacles which were difficult, especially the Spruce Meadow on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Cindy took charge. There would not be any unnecessary waiting in lines. She would ensure we had the best seats on the transport bus. We thoroughly enjoyed the Naxi Family visit.

GUILIN
The Jolie Vue Boutique Hotel had a perfect location. The room was spacious and the view of elephant hill was beautiful, especially at night.
Our guide, Linda, was delightful. I enjoyed walking around the nearby lakes and talking about differences in our cultures.
Daxu Ancient Town was the absolute highlight of my time in China. We met Mr. Zhou. He is 80 years old and is very proud of showing us his way of life. We enjoyed Yao Mountain Tea Plantation.

YANGSHUO
Yangshuo Mountain Retreat Hotel's setting was magical. Beautiful views. Terrific food. O
We visited the Fuli Ancient Town Market and painted fans in Fuli Town
A WONDERFUL SUGGESTION by our guide, Linda … I attended “Impressions Liu Sanjie”, a folk story directed by Zhang Yimou, the chief director the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Linda made sure I got the best seat in the house. Linda and our driver, Mr. Su, agreed to work late that night so I could enjoy this performance. I’m so happy I got to see this spectacular show on the Li River at night.

SHANGHAI
SSAW Boutique Hotel Shanghai Bund – was disappointing. Our guide, Mary, was lovely. I really enjoyed Fuxing Park. Shanghai Tower was impressive and knowing the amount of growth since 1990 was interesting.

I cannot give a full review of our journey without giving high praise to all of our drivers. China is one place I would ever try to drive. The drivers were excellent… Mr. Chen, Mr. Yang, Mr. Chang, and especially Mr. Su who even took me for a motorcycle ride in a sidecar!

I, along with my spouse, were invited by KenL to join a tailored made, 16 day itinerary that he worked tirelessly with Nora, CCT travel consultant. The places of interest planned for the itinerary were executed by Nora, travel consultant, and they were excellent for our sightseeing and educational experiences. The local tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly and English speaking, with special mention to Wendy (Zhangjiajie) and Mike (Guilin) who were exceptional. The local bus drivers drove safely to our destinations. We were satisfied with all hotels and restaurants, as per our itinerary. A Truly Memorable Tour Experience – Highly Recommended!
We had the privilege of embarking on a 16 days tour that was planned over the course of a year by our dedicated consultant Nora. From start to finish, our journey exceeded all expectations, and we are so grateful for her hard work and attention to detail that went into making this tour unforgettable.

Tour Guides – Knowledgeable & Friendly:
Our 5 tour guides we had for 平遙Pingyao、黃山Huang Shan 、張家界Zhangjiajie、凱里Kaili, 桂林Guilin were not only highly knowledgeable about the history and culture of the places we visited but also extremely friendly and approachable. Their passion for sharing their expertise made the experience both enriching and enjoyable.

If you are a type of person, with a open mind, willing to explore and enjoy everything , that's around each corner. GO TO CHINA. I spent 21 days in China, arrange by Nora and quides in a private tour. I went in early November, when the crowds were small and the weather was not too hot or cold. I was able to experience Chinese history sites, wondering, HOW DID THEY DO THAT.
The Great Wall,is impressive in size, condition and wear it is built on the crest of the mountain tops. Forbidden City, is extremely impressive in scale and it shows the wealth of the emperors. It is similar in interest as seeing the temples in Luxor Egypt.
Summer palace, Ming Tombs, Yungang Grottoes, Pingyao Ancient Town, Water Town, Xi'an terracotta soldiers, everything was arrange by Nora and her crew Tour guides were very willing to help and give great information , at all sites. There were no problems, people were on time, tickets were handled on time, food was delicious, hotels were very modern and my transportation was new. I felt safe. People were friendly and kind. They were fun! I just had told Nora, what I wanted too see and she did it fast and on time. I just had to pay. Great Trip.

This was my 2nd time in a year using China Culture tours and Nora was my tour planner again. As usual, she is very friendly and always check on me. My family and myself managed to meet up with Nora and her colleagues in Guilin and she treated us to a sumptuous dinner. Really appreciate that and would highly recommend Nora and her company to everyone planning a tour in China.

The planning of our 8-days, 2-pax private tour to Zhang Jiajie, Fenghuang and Changsha by Nora showed that she was very attentive in our requirements as the itinerary was both well-planned and executed. We were glad we engaged China Culture Tour to plan our trip as we wouldn't have been able to enjoy our trip as much if we had planned it ourselves; this is especially in the area of the purchase of train tickets. We had originally requested for 1st class tickets BUT upon the opening date to purchase the train tickets, Nora shared that she could only get us 2nd class tickets but will continue to try and get the 1st class tickets that we wanted. She followed up closely and managed to help us with getting the tickets we preferred.

We had 2 wonderful local teams of drivers and guides in Zhang Jiajie / Fenghuang and Changsha respecitvely. We were very well taken care by them. Special mention goes to 艳子, our guide in Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang; she was not only knowledgeable in her area of work but was very caring in all ways. She took VERY good care of us during the trip and it's far beyond a guide's professional duties.

The tour planner Ms Nora was very patiently in helping me to arrive at the places my wife and I wanted to go. She was patient in attending to me despite my earlier indecision and changing my travel itinerary a few times. The tour itself was good as we travel and see the places at our own pace & leisure, without the need to rush through like in a big group. I would definitely use China Culture Tour if I want to tour China again. Ms Nora has done an excellent job! ☺️

We had a wonderful experience on our recent private tour to the province of Yunnan with CCT. Everything from the time we engaged our tour consultant Linda Wu to the end of our tour exceeded our expectations!

Linda was incredibly efficient, patient and caring. She worked tirelessly to design an itinerary that catered to our needs/desires while keeping in mind of our tight schedule as this Yunnan tour was an after-thought of our overall Asia trip. During the tour, Linda also checked-in on us to ensure that we were picked up at the airport by the driver and got on the train safely. We could not have asked for a better tour consultant.

Many thanks to our local tour guides: Sophie in Kunming, Grace in Dali and Alice in Lijiang; as well as our drivers: Miss Loo in Kunming and Mr. Li in Dali and Lijiang. We had a memorable time visiting the Stone Forest in Kunming, the enormous Buddhist temple in Dali, the Bai minority people in Xizhou, and the jaw-dropping natural beauty of Blue Moon Valley and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang.,., etc. We were amazed by the local guides’ in-depth knowledge in the history and culture of Yunnan and their respective cities. They also introduced us to some of the delicious local cuisine which we enjoyed very much every day at lunch.

All-in-all this Yunnan tour was one of the best guided tours we’ve had! We look forward to visiting other parts of this beautiful land of China with CCT in the near future.

Linda Wu arranged a very suitable itinerary for us two elderly people. The vehicle was comfortable, the driver was very friendly.
Especially tourist guide 張強，who was knowledgeable and explained many historical stories in detail and took good care of us.
We enjoyed this trip very much.

Great experience with this tour! Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Honorable mention to Linda from Guilin, she was very friendly and really took care of us with genuine manners. She is also very knowledgeable on the history and sites, educated us a lot. Another mention is Nora, who planned our trip from beginning to end. Overall I would recommend this tour to everyone.

I would like to give credit where it is due. Our recent 10days tour to Yunnan was such a wonderful experience! Having been recommended by a relative on her recent travel with CCT, I engaged Ms Linda Wu to plan a Yunnan itinerary with English guides to cater for 4 adults, 2 of whom are elderly travellers. From the outset, she was very prompt and quickly came up with a suitable itinerary according to my requests. She also provided tour suggestions that cater for preferences of the different travellers.

As we usually travel on our own, naturally I was unsure how a guided tour would turn out. My fears were completely unfounded. We visited Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La and in each of these cities, the local guides and drivers were excellent!

Just want to give a shout-out to our guides & drivers who made our trips so memorable with their passion and attention to detail – In Kunming – Jerry, an ever polite and attentive young man; Rosemary, an infectious, energetic guide who is an excellent photographer (took some of the best shots for us) and looked after our elderly extremely well even in the challenging terrain of Stone Forest and Jiuxiang Caves . In Dali – Sally was a problem solver who switched cars to accommodate the luggage, who provided insights into the Bai minority way of life, and who chit-chat with our elderly in a café while we went on a cycling trip around Erhai Lake. In Lijiang – Rosemary gave good advice on our trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain such that time was not wasted on this excellent day trip. In Shangri-La – Jack did not bat an eye when we wanted to do a hike in the Tiger Leaping Gorge with the elderly and he ensured that the hike went safely! Last but not least, we want to thank our driver who accompanied us from Dali-Lijiang-Shangrila- he is the best driver ever. His driving skills are amazing and he was so concerned that we would miss our train by running with our luggages to catch the train.

During the tour, Linda continues to check-in on our trip to ensure we are well taken cared of. Linda and our guides also bought us local products and fruits to try and gave good recommendations for restaurants.

At the end of 10 days, our elderly relatives gave a thumbs up to the tour and the kind and wonderful care given to them by the guides/drivers. We also enjoyed the tour that is filled with wonderful experiences of culture, local life, places of interest and of course great food!

We highly recommend China Culture Tour and would not hesitate to travel with them again in China 😊

Excellent service! Nora CCT was always and easily reachable and helpful.The guides were friendly and punctual.Selected hotels and good resto's , conclusion: everything was taken care of!

Right from the start the experience was excellent, initially communicating with Linda, who was so kind and curteous answering al questions, and then on arrival things going like clock work. The tour guides Bree and MIke were excellent, so were the car drivers too. Linda came to see us as well. Thanks so much to Linda at CCT who made this happen, and thanks to our tour guides Bree and MIke too.

Our trip to Yunnan & Sichuan provinces in China was a nice experience. Nora Zheng, the travel consultant of China Culture Tour made the itinerary based on our requirements. She arranged the guides, drivers, train tickets, transportation, domestic flights, restaurants and cultural experiences. And all the arrangements worked perfectly. Too bad that the drivers didn't speak English and neither did we speak Chinese, but we solved it with a translation application. Nora was engaging and quick in her follow-up. She kept following us throughout our trip to make sure everything was ok.
The services by the guides were excellent. Their knowledge of the local culture, history and backgrounds was excellent. Doyle from Kunming knows all about the Minorities. Leeway from Dali knows a lot about the history of the Kingdom of Dali. Peter from Lijiang knows the old town very well, and he knows exactly where you have to take the pictures. Peter from Shangri-la introduced us to the philosophy of Buddha, very interesting. Leah in Chengdu is a Panda specialist, Bruce was in Jiuzhaigou and HuangLong very patient and helpful. Andrew from Leshan and Emei is a young guy with patience and has helped us to hike Mount Emeishan.
We had a problem because one of our domestic flights was changed to another day, but since our schedule has a day off, the schedule can be moved forward a day. CCT also had problems getting the train tickets, because the train tickets can only be bought 15 days in advance. But Nora was able to solve everything, so in the end everything went well.
We have to get used to the spicy local cuisine. Here in Holland, we are used to Cantonese cuisine. But the Mushroom Hotpot in Lijiang was very special, the well-recommended restaurant in Chengdu was also very tasty. Finally, the guide found a Cantonese restaurant in Emeishan City that was a treat for us.
These were wonderful days in China, every day we enjoyed this beautiful China. It is not only beautiful but also safe and clean, except for the public toilets. Thanks to Nora for her excellent organization and support throughout the trip. Highly recommended.

China Culture Tour - October 09-25

We are a group of 16 , the majority of whom are seniors with 2 members in their mid eighties, who went on a 17 day tour of China specifically designed to our needs. Our itinerary was specifically designed to visit exotic places with high cultural, educational and aesthetic values. It spans from Pingyao Ancient City in the north to Guilin and Yangshao in the south travelling by Rapid Train and on the way, visiting exotic sights like Huangshan, Hongcun, Xidi, Zhangjiajie, Phoenix Ancient Town, minority ethnic villages, and more.
To cover the vast areas, and because of the complexities involved - the logistics, special transportation needs, living accommodation especially in remote areas, etc.,many other tour companies declined to undertake the tour planning and offer a quote.
Members’ demands were high in food selection, city and country walking and trekking, and the numerous train rides and transfers with full luggages. The 4 Star hotel accommodations we selected were excellent in location and services.
Above all, the services by the guides were excellent and exceed expectations. They all paid very careful attention to our member’s needs and did not hesitate to make changes to accommodate them. Their knowledge of the local culture, history and anecdotal backgrounds was excellent. Of special mention was the fact that a few of our members fell ill during the trip and the guides in charge were especially caring and responsible to help bring them to the hospital for treatment and to obtain the proper medication.
Finally, because of the complexity of the program , we planned well ahead with Nora, the tour consultant, who is very knowledgeable in her area of work and responsibility, who worked with us tirelessly to achieve our goals. We made numerous changes along the way and she was patient, accommodative and goal oriented that led to the success of the whole tour.

On my bucket list of places that I want to go in China, I never thought about I could do them all in a single journey. Most of the travel agencies offer different routes in order to cover most places on my list. Until a friend of mine invited me to joint their tour which organized by China Culture Tour. Nora, a very patience, kind and professional travel consultant who spent enormous time in finalizing the logistics of the tour for our group. Given the facts that we are a group of seniors, in all the cities that we been to, we were carefully taken care by their very professional local guides. I was amazed by their in depth knowledge on their local culture. They even went extra miles to make sure we were comfortably taken care of with all the needs (like transportation, meals, our health issues and pampered us with suitable fruits and herbal tea) along the way and according to our ability. Their services are outstanding and appreciated. Again, I would like to say thank you for Nora from China Culture Tour for her excellent planning and exacution, Jimmy from Beijing, Jonathan (calm and polite) from Pingyao, Tony (an energetic guy) from Huangshan, Wendy from Zhangjiajie, Fenghuang (a cheerful and super lady), Jacky from Kaili (a walking Miao culture dictionary) and Mike ( flexible problem solver) from Guilin, Yangshuo.

Our 11 days in China with China Culture Tour in 10/2024 was amazing. We chose China Culture Tour after we compared with several other tour companies. Nora Zhang (Tour Advisor) was very responsive and professional via email & WeChat. We visited the following; Fenghuang, Zhangjiajie, Chengdu, Leshan, Emeishan & Jiuzhaigou. Our tour guide, Linda in Fenghuang & Zhangjiajie was very nice, friendly, kind, knowledgeable & professional. At Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Linda took us to remote scenic spots where we were able to avoid huge tour groups. Also, we paid extra for the VIP line in order to get into the park to save time & energy. Since all of us (5 adults in our group) can’t speak, read or understand Chinese, Linda recommended good restaurants, translated the menu for us and helped us to order the food for us. Linda bought for us some chestnuts, tangerines, candies & magnets. As for our tour guide in Chengdu, Leshan, Emeishan & Jiuzhaigou, our tour guide, Leah was very nice, friendly, knowledgeable & kind.
Leah recommended good restaurants (good local food) and took us to less crowded spots in Jiuzhaigou whenever possible. For our trip to Emeishan, Leah took us there earlier in the morning in order to avoid the huge tour groups. We (2 adults) invited Leah & the driver to eat with us for lunch & dinner during our trips. It was like Leah was more of a friend who was showing us around various parts of China. I really enjoyed our vacation in China because everybody at China Culture Tour helped us to enjoy our time there. I would definitely recommend China Culture Tour to anybody who wants to visit China.
