Do not trust them

These guys will try to rip you off and take advantage of you by telling you you have to pay for the most expensive option there is to fix your car. They told me I needed a timing chain kit and that it would be $3600-5000 for my car specifically, but my uncle who fixes cars showed me that you can get the same exact kit for a couple hundred bucks.
No doubt they were trying to take advantage of me because I am young and inexperienced when it comes to cars/car troubles.

They’re horrible and we’ve been taking our cars for a min. Every single time something is wrong with them and the parts are cheap but they prices are not. They did work on our car without confirming with us and caused more problems. The customer service is horrible definitely spreading the word. I wish I saw these bad reviews before I started with them. Never again I don’t recommend

Communication and customer service are…

Communication and customer service are beautiful things. This shop has neither! We Had work done on our car that was covered by warranty at another Christian Brothers. This Christian Brothers refused to honor the warranty even after the other location tried to work with them. Here’s the catch when this location looked at our car they pulled the car fax and could see the previous work that was done on the car. This would have been a great time to ask about the previous work and mention it might be covered under warranty.  This would have been the nice things to do the good neighbor thing to do. Instead they said we needed work to the Tune over $800 then came back and said we needed more work to the tune of $1300.  I will NEVER go back here again and will actively tell my experience to anyone that will listen.

I took my 2015 Jeep to Christian Brothers in Corinth, TX after dealing with ongoing issues that a previous shop left unresolved. They got right to work. Everything was thoroughly documented—including photos—and explained to me in clear detail. I was even invited into the shop area so I could see exactly what was happening.
Every person I met was kind and courteous. You’re greeted warmly by the entire team—they make eye contact and offer genuine smiles. I left with tears of joy and a gladness in my heart that I haven’t felt in a long time. They truly live out Christian values.

My first experience with a repair shop using high-pressure sales tacticsy first experience with a…

This wasn't my first experience with a repair shop using high-pressure sales tactics. Last Friday, Christine Automotive in Houston, Copperfield, on 529 and Hwy 6. something very similar with my valve cover gaskets.

They found what they said was an oil leak and quoted me **$1,300** to replace the valve covers. They also told me I needed to get it fixed immediately or my truck probably wouldn't even make it to Galveston that weekend.

Before agreeing to anything, I stepped outside and called the owner of Midas on Highway 6, where I always get my full synthetic oil changes. He asked me to send him pictures of the leak. I went back inside, asked the technician to show me the leak again, took photos, and sent them to him. After looking at the pictures, he told me it was only a **small leak** and not something that needed immediate attention.

Christine Automotive then told me they could finance the repair, but I would only get their "discount" if I signed the paperwork that Friday. I felt pressured into deciding on the spot, and I refused. I left with only an oil change.

To make matters worse, the oil change had been advertised for **$29.99**, but I ended up paying **$49.00** instead.

These experiences have convinced me to always get a second opinion before approving expensive repairs. My advice is simple: **Ask questions, get every quote and discount in writing, and don't let anyone pressure you into deciding on the spot.** It could save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Not doing the job right the first time and over charge the customer

First invoice 48045 charge $1,053.45 dollars, vehicle mileage 274431 reason: car won't start. Replace electric fuel pump and strainer. Supposedly 3 year warranty.
Second invoice 48472 charge $1,316.54 dollars, vehicle mileage 274669 reason: while I was driving the car shuts off by itself and I almost crash. Tow the vehicle to the Christian brothers automotive and on-site I start the vehicle and I have a check engine light on. I t look a picture and it shows the check engine light that gas tank having a 1 quarter of a tank and th rpms reading 900 rpms. I spoke with both boss on-site and said that the reason the car shuts off if because it was out of gas that the level sensors was bad.
1. First thing they replace the gas pump. What happens to test the equipment. (Test the gas pump and sensors)
2. They said that the gas tank was empty. How? when I was on their parking lot before i left the car over the weekend I took a picture and it has 1 quarter tank of gas, check engine on and reading 900 rpms while the motor was spinning. Someone is lying and is not me. Of course I have to pay $2,369.99 dollars no warranty and i was told when I show up the second time that if I don't like the service I could take my vehicle out with the bad sensors or I could leave the vehicle and pay. So much for religious mechanics. Difference of mileage from first serves to the second service 238 miles. Be careful with this guys. They love the money without doing the work right the first time.

To Christian Brothers Automotive and…

To Christian Brothers Automotive and owners Russ Miller and Debbie Miller,

You damaged my vehicle and then attempted to make me financially responsible for that damage. That is deceptive business conduct, and it is unlawful under Indiana consumer protection laws.

When I brought my vehicle to your shop, I paid for a diagnostic because I expected a professional inspection to determine the actual issues with my vehicle. Instead, I was charged for services that were either not properly rendered or not rendered at all. You later admitted enough fault to issue a refund, which further supports that improper charges were made.

Your attempt to shift blame to prior conditions on my vehicle is irrelevant because the entire purpose of the diagnostic inspection was to assess the vehicle’s condition before repairs were made. If pre-existing issues existed, it was your responsibility to document and disclose them before performing work.

Instead, your shop installed an incorrect starter, which resulted in damage to my vehicle, including broken parts, and then attempted to charge me for correcting damage caused by your own mechanic. That is unacceptable.

This matter has caused me significant financial loss, loss of transportation, lost work time, emotional distress, and hardship to my family. As a single mother caring for my children while also supporting my father during his battle with cancer, your company’s actions have created unnecessary burdens in my life.

I attempted to resolve this matter directly and professionally through email, but your refusal to properly address the situation has forced me to escalate the matter.

At this point, I am pursuing a formal investigation into your business practices for deceptive consumer conduct. Once my investigation is complete, I will proceed with filing in small claims court and will present all receipts, records, communications, and evidence.

I previously attempted to settle this matter for $7,000, which included my financial losses and time away from work. However, because this matter continues to escalate and may now affect my employment due to lack of transportation, my damages are increasing. At this point, my claim will likely fall between $10,000 and $15,000, depending on the final outcome of the investigation and the total financial impact.

This could have been resolved privately and professionally. Instead, your refusal to accept responsibility has made litigation necessary.

The court will determine the facts.

I used to have good things to say about…

I used to have good things to say about this place. I’ve brought my wife’s Bronco and my Ford Escape here multiple times for oil changes and transmission services, and until now I trusted their work.

I recently brought in my 2017 Ford Escape because the check engine light was flashing for cylinder 2. I initially thought it was something simple, like spark plugs or a coil pack. On May 13th, I was told they would replace the spark plugs and coil packs, and that my vehicle would be ready the afternoon of May 14th. At no point did anyone contact me to confirm or discuss moving forward with installing the new spark plugs after diagnosing the issue further.

What concerns me is that it wasn’t until the following day that they informed me the engine had internal damage, supposedly confirmed with a bore scope camera. If they had already removed the spark plugs to inspect the issue and knew there was internal engine damage, I don’t understand why they still proceeded with installing new spark plugs and charging me for the labor and parts. I was charged $179 for labor related to the spark plugs, another $179 for removing and replacing them, plus $82 for the spark plugs themselves. Had I known the engine had internal damage and the vehicle would not be drivable, I never would have agreed to replace the spark plugs in the first place.

I feel like I was not given the full picture before authorizing the repairs, and that I was taken advantage of instead of being dealt with honestly and transparently. Since I work in the school district I will make sure no one goes to this location.

plugs could not repair.

Because the misfire persisted immediately after installation, it appears the ignition repairs were not the actual cause of the problem. A compression test and deeper mechanical diagnosis could have been performed earlier in the process before recommending a full ignition service. As the automotive professionals in this situation, I trusted your shop to determine the most appropriate diagnostic path and avoid unnecessary expenses.

I do appreciate that the coil charges were refunded, but the spark plug replacement was also part of a repair path that ultimately did not address the actual failure. From my perspective, I paid for parts and labor that were unnecessary in light of the true diagnosis. I feel this is very un fair for me to have to pay for a service, knowing that you knew the real reason of the issue. And I dont appreciate you lied to my bank saying yall fixed spark plugs that I broke I never broke any spark plugs nor did I ever look at any of the cylinders other than cylinder 2 which was not broken when I replaced it. Its a joke that you have the name Christian in your name....

Service Complaint

Service Complaint - Invoice Date 06/12/26
To Whom It May Concern at Christian Brothers Automotive - Lake Jackson, Texas
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my service experience on June 12, 2026.
My vehicle arrived overheating with smoke under the hood. Your team diagnosed a defective radiator cap. The final invoice totaled $363.79 and included charges I find predatory:
Cooling System Pressure Test: $79.95
Cooling System Fluid Exchange Service: $90.00
BG Cooling System Kit: $39.95 - I declined this service but was informed by the advisor it was mandatory and “part of the package.”
Radiator Caps & Coolant: $113.27
Charging over $360 for an issue stemming from a radiator cap is unacceptable. The upselling tactics used when my vehicle was in an urgent state felt exploitative.
I request a formal review of these charges. This experience has ensured I will not return and will actively advise others to avoid this location.

Christian Brothers Automotive presents…

Christian Brothers Automotive presents itself as a clean, polished, well‑structured shop — the kind of place where you expect professionalism and efficiency the moment you pull in. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the appearance.I called to get a quote for a transmission fluid change. They told me they’d call me back shortly. Five hours passed with no response.I followed up later that day, and they still didn’t have anything for me — no quote, no update, nothing. Two days later, I called again, and they “couldn’t find” the quote they were supposedly working on. At that point, the nice building didn’t mean much when the basic communication and follow‑through just weren’t there. If it takes multiple calls over multiple days just to get a simple quote, I’m definitely not trusting them with an actual repair. I moved on.

I went to this place to get a safety…

I went to this place to get a safety inspection on a 2010 Ford fusion and they told us we needed $2400 worth of work. This was only to find out the same day by a trusted mechanic that absolutely nothing was wrong and it passed inspection elsewhere. These guys are a total fraud and are adding exponentially to the problem of fraudulent overpriced, made up mechanical problems that they want to rip you off to fix. They can’t even look you in the eye when they let you know what they think you need to fix in order to pass inspection. This is because they know they’re lying to your face. I hope that everyone will take the time to read these reviews because this is not just one auto mechanics business problem this is an unfortunate theme throughout the industry with a few outliers that actually tell you the truth go to the state of Missouri Highway inspection department and you’ll find out the truth as to what you need to fix or not fix. Happy inspections to all. Christian Brothers is an interesting laughable name for a business who frames themselves in such a way that makes the consumer believe they are honest when nothing could be further from the truth. Good luck to everyone out there. Don’t get ripped off.

Christian Brothers Tega Cay - Fradulent

Christian Brothers Tega Cay will scam you out of thousands of dollars - telling you that you need urgent repairs when in fact you don’t. I took my car here for a routine oil change only to have a bill over $2500. They upsell and pressure you to do unnecessary repairs with fraudulent tactics and questionable videos. There is absolutely nothing “Christian “ about this unethical business that exaggerates repairs and scams you out of thousands of dollars. They also replaced the transmission in our truck with a “New” transmission that thereafter kept giving us issues on three separate occasions - a “new” transmission would not go bad and cause problems right after replacement. Such fraud and deception- Do not take your vehicles here.

Great Service, But Prices Are Extremely Highl…

I’ve taken my car to Christian Brothers Automotive several times, but eventually I decided enough was enough.

To be fair, they do quality repair work, diagnose problems accurately, and their customer service is excellent. I give them full credit for that.

However, in my experience, their prices are extremely high. Once everything is added up, you can often find another mechanic or repair shop that offers the same quality work for a much more reasonable price. Their labor rate is around $189 per service, so if you need brake pads and a battery replaced, you could easily end up paying $300+ in labor alone, plus the cost of parts.

Recently, I was charged nearly $1,000 just to replace the brake pads on my SUV. Meanwhile, a friend of mine recently had both brake pads and rotors replaced elsewhere for a little over $200.

My advice is to protect your hard-earned money and compare prices before committing to repairs. There are many honest mechanics and repair shops that provide great service and quality work at fair prices. In my opinion, Christian Brothers presents itself very well, but their pricing can feel excessive and disappointing.

False Christians

Willis, TX location. Beautiful new building on the outside...rotten to the core inside. Warm, friendly greeting when you arrive, but listen to the people speak when they think you're not listening, and what you hear is nothing but pride, prejudice and narcissism run wild. The worst is the owner! He wants to come glad-hand everyone, then go discuss someone who left a bad review in the most heinous manner. Out of curiosity, I went to look for this review, and was even more disturbed by his response. No shame, full public display, proud. Then, I see a bunch of FB posts, supposedly showcasing regular employees. Yep, he inserts himself into every one! When they come tell me what my car "needs" during my oil change, I politely decline. The owner then comes out to try and close me himself. I won't give you another dime of my money. If this is how you brand yourself, you may want to really put a Christian at the helm. Should have called it Narcissism Automotive.
Narcissism: Characterized by grandiosity, entitlement, an inflated ego, and a constant craving for admiration.

This is for APEX

This is for APEX, NC location.
The waiting room is a pleasant experience and they are nice. However, while I was in the waiting room, I overheard 2 issues that the mechanics caused to customer vehicles.. 3 and 4 if we are inclucding the issues caused with my car. 1. There was a lady who came in with her daughters car that just had full brakes put on a few months ago and failed inspection. The car was parked at home while the daughter was in college and not used. 2. The mechanic left a magnetic tool or something near something in the car and that did something bad to the car. 3. While waiting and only asking for oil change, I was called to the counter and shown an oil plug and told that it did not belong on the car and they would add a larger one. I said is it stripped and they said yes, so we added this longer one, for free? I have only had 1 person do my oil changes up north for years and he is extremely careful with any tork use, and he said, it was absolutely fine each time. The only other mechanics that touched my car was Christian Brothers, the last time and this one, so I have to say this was them, only a few months later and it began to leak oil from that plug. They also overfilled it. 4. I was showed a pad that was fine and then drove up north and by the time I got up there it was grinding and scaping and the mechanic told me that, the boot cover was torn. He even helped me to contact them but they did not respond, other than to deny even taking the car apart to do their 50 point or whatever inspection. they did take the tires off, and somehow ripped the boot cover on the brakes.
AND for these reasons, I say they do not know what they are doing. I suggest looking elsewhere for a mechanic or even an oil change that turns into them taking your car apart for hours on end to try to find something wrong and/or creating problems. RUN the other the other way! I also saw they have had complaints on different forums including BBB.

A clean shop the doesn’t fix your car

Brough my car to the Whitestown, IN location with a rough idle. They diagnosed it as a dirty throttle body. They cleaned it, did a relearn, then said it was fixed. When I picked up the car, the idle was significantly worse. Now instead of just a rough idle, the car completely stalls when in park. I brought it back a second time, and they couldn’t figure out the issue after having it for almost a week. I kept asking about a vacuum leak, and if they smoke tested it. They wouldn’t give me a straight answer, always dodging the question, saying they’d get back to me (they never did). I ended up picking up the car again for the second time having nothing been fixed. A few days later I investigated under the hood and discovered that they put the air box back on crooked which cracked one of the alignment fins causing dirty air to get into the intake from the cracked fin being smashed into the air filter.

It’s such a scam - I paid $550+ for them to make my car run worse and damage my airbox and air filter.

The bad reviews are unfortunately true, and I should have read through them before spending $550+ on absolutely nothing. These guys are a rip off

A name like Christian Brothers suggests…

A name like Christian Brothers suggests to customers that they have found an honest repair shop. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I have an Endurance extended warranty, and at other repair facilities I have paid the $100 deductible and left with a properly functioning vehicle. In this case, I brought my car in for a window regulator (the part that raises and lowers the window; approximately $59 shop cost) and a radio that was not working (approximately $225 shop cost for a replacement). I later received a call stating that the vehicle was ready, but I was quoted $1,400. When I contacted Endurance, I was told they had authorized $99 for the regulator and $226 for the radio, plus labor based on the national repair manual (the standard time a qualified mechanic should need to replace and test the items). However, Christian Brothers charged me $256 for the regulator alone, despite the part reportedly costing the shop about $59 (or less). Additionally, I did not receive what I believe I was charged for regarding the radio. Endurance authorized $667.98 for the repairs, which I consider a fair and honest price for the work. The shop also charged me two separate full diagnostic fees—one for the regulator and another for the radio—despite both issues being readily apparent. I do not believe a complete diagnostic was performed in either instance. I was not given a choice or an opportunity to authorize the work and pricing in advance. I informed them I would not pay the $1,400 bill and that I would pick up the vehicle to take it to an honest shop. Ultimately, I was required to pay $420 for two diagnostic charges to retrieve my car. I am a 100% disabled veteran with a service connection, and I do not drive often. My options were $420 or $1,400. When my wife went to pick up the vehicle, she waited approximately one hour while the shop removed the newly installed parts and reinstalled the damaged parts. This suggests the actual repair time was less than an hour. I am 70 years old, and shops that operate this way are often described as dishonest. I encourage others—especially veterans—to avoid this business. I am connected with many veteran groups, and I will be warning fellow veterans not to use Christian Brothers Automotive.

Nothing Christian about these brothers

My elderly mother-in-law took her Scion to this outfit (Denver location) with one dead cylinder.
I am an automotive professional with 30 years of experience but I live 1,000 miles away so I couldn't take care of the problem myself.
These bros - without doing ANY diagnostics - suggested spark plug replacement and, since it's been awhile, we agreed on the condition that they install OEM - NTG/NGK plugs rather than some crap.
They charged $172 for the job that takes maybe - MAYBE - 15 minutes with two smoke breaks. With new spark plugs, the problem still existed but they presented a list of "issues" in the amount of $3,500 comparable with the value of the car. On top of $172. When I called them with questions, their explanation was "because of age/mileage". None - NONE - of the items they wanted to replaced had any defects.
The car was taken to another shop that ACTUALLY DIAGNOSED the issue, replaced one ignition coil for less than $100.
To summarize, it's below the lowest to take advantage of an elderly person simply because they can. And, BTW, it turned out that they installed the crappiest spark plugs (ac delco)... for $172.
There is nothing Christian about these brothers.
