Professor Paul Ursell was recommended to me and I attended at Parkside Hospital for an initial consultation. Following a thorough examination he replaced my right cataract and 2 weeks later my left. The operation was quick and painless and the hospital and staff were excellent. The whole procedure took 15 minutes. I had no post-operative discomfort at all and my vision was corrected almost immediately. The end result is incredible - I no longer have to wear glasses.
I have no hesitation in recommending Professor Ursell - he is an excellent surgeon.

I had my initial consultation with Paul at the beginning of February and 8 weeks, 2 operations, 2 toric multi focal implants, and 350 eye drops later I could throw away my glasses and see everything a lot clearer both for distance and reading. I can only agree with many other comments here about Paul and the whole procedure; he explains all the benefits, risks and the process in a clear and calm way, the operation only takes a few minutes (more time is spent preparing beforehand and tidying up afterwards) and then you walk away to enjoy a sandwich and a cup of tea! (Parkside hospital and their staff were wonderful!).I had been wearing varifocal spectacles for a long time and in the two weeks between the two operations it was rather strange with such differing eye sight but after the second one everything improved rapidly.I have no hesitation in recommending Paul, he was excellent throughout.

Any medical procedure causes anxiety, the more so when eyes are involved. Let me reassure you that the whole process was seamless, there was absolutely no pain and all I saw was a bright light. It was well worth a delay of two weeks between the procedures for each eye as Prof Ursell was able to provide me with the future vision I required. I'm delighted with the result.

I saw Professor Ursell in Ashtead Hospital for an initial consultation and 8 days later he replaced the cataracts in both my eyes. The operation was quick and painless, and I had no post-operative discomfort at all (which surprised me). The results are remarkable. Before I was very short-sighted and my cataracts badly affected both reading and distance acuity. After the operation I now have very good distance vision (glasses-free) but still need glasses for reading. (This was the expected outcome as I did not want multi-focus implants.)
