Ordered an Xmas pudding and some posh lager before Xmas as a treat for myself on Xmas day and it never showed up due to yodel being completely useless in my area, I spoke to their customer service team (C&B) and they couldn’t have sorted it faster, full refund sent back and very pleasant to speak to

Excellent service and great quality product. We needed help with the delivery and their team were so helpful and kind. Not only are the items really good but all the tins and packaging were reusable. Very happy.

I bought a tin of milk chocolate salted caramel biscuits from Cartmel. The tin was a third taller than the 7 biscuits it contained. Cost per biscuit....£1+ each...not exceptional taste, not good value for money. Very disappointed.

Shocking service. I ordered through joules.com. Originally my parcel was ‘lost’ and no one notified me, all of my emails had been ignored until I called their customer service. They said they’d send out a new package, that never arrived. Still no call back and now I can’t speak to anyone on live chat or phone. Absolute SCAM.

Update: my problem seemed to be directly with Joules.com, as soon as I managed to get through to Cartwright customer care, they sent out a replacement. (I haven’t received it yet but at least they were helpful)

Do not ever use them for professional corporate orders. Poor handling of specific personalisation requests and do not even mention the sender details while sending the orders. Completely forgot to include my Christmas and New Year message and my customers are puzzled and don’t even know whom they received the gift from. They have a lot of way to go in terms of customer service and operational effectiveness.

Cannot comment on the products they sent as I don’t have the feedback on them at the moment.

Such a nicely built brand but they don’t understand the essence of gifting 😞☹️

Consider this a provisional review, but so far i have to say everything is top notch. I used their make a hamper feature on their website, which is very clever. Ordered on Sunday night and its just arrived (now Wednesday). It's a premium brand, but I think for the price I paid it's reasonable. Delivery was free and I got 10% off with a discount code. Going to give it to my parents on xmas and if there is anything wrong or the food isn't good then I will be back to amend my review. But as of this moment I think they are going to love the gift. One small bit of criticism though. I opened the crate to have a look and some of the items in boxes were a litte bit out of shape. That's my only critique so far though.

I ordered two lots of honey, some gouda cheese melts, teabags and onion marmalade recently from this company. Delivery was promised for the Wednesday by DHL (on hold in Bristol according to the tracking) and didn't turn up! I rang C & B and they said delivery would be on Thursday or Friday, it still didn't turn up! It eventually arrived on the Monday after I had rang C & B again. The cheese biscuits were soft not crisp as expected. The honey is fine and the other items we have not used yet. Apparently DHL were not in this area despite neighbours having parcels from the same DHL depot when my deliveries were not received! Perhaps C & B ought to change their couriers! I would like some more of their products but put off by the delayed delivery!

I received my order this morning and all items ( apart from the sea salted caramel biscuits and sea salted fudge ) either taste awful or are really close to their best before date , so taste stale! I would like the items collected and a refund. These Items where for a special family lunch and it has been ruined by their poor quality and clearly over priced products. I spent almost 50 pounds and My order number is 2021-033185-8137.

C&B have always been pretty good when I have ordered from them and the delivery is usually quite prompt but last time i had major issues with my order. However the staff at HQ are lovely, helpful and really on the ball when it comes to sorting out problems and went out of their way to help me and when they couldn't issued a refund quickly and in a really efficient way. The products themselves are sublime and they do perfect shortbread. I do think their other products such as the regular biscuits and wafers are lacklustre but the shortbread is a define winner. I would order again simply because the customer service was excellent.

I ordered some products of this brand Cartwright & Butler, from Selfridges. Whilst most of them are quite nice, I was shocked to try (something I was looking forward to most!) their so called Black Cherry preserve which is totally NOT WHAT IT SAYS! Bearing in mind that by all rules, Preserves have whole fruit or large pieces of fruit, this is not even close to anything. The closest to Black cherry in this product is just the colour! It is a jar simply filled with gelatine, with some taste very remotely reminding of black cherry - SO, SO disappointing, I feel that for the price near to £5 it is a rip off! On the other hand, breakfast marmalade is nice and full of flavour and even has orange zest, all properly made. DONT BUY BLACK CHERRY Preserve - it is just a coloured gelatine! WHAT IS WRONG, Cartwright & Butler, what happened???

I purchased the Family Favourites Hamper for a birthday present. Mother-in-law delighted (which is always a good thing). The service I received from the company was impeccable. Will definitely buy again. Highly recommended

I bought a box of Maple and Pecan digestive biscuits as a Christmas treat. However, when 3 of us in my family tried one, it literally was like eating tasteless cardboard. When I emailed customer services I was told it was most likely a storage issue but as we had not bought directly from C&B I should contact the retailer, Bentalls. I don't raise issues unnecessarily as, like most, I do not have the time to do so, and I was extremely disappointed to have been brushed off in this way. As a reputable company I would have expected C&B to offer a goodwill replacement rather than quibble with their customer. The biscuits were just thrown in the bin and I certainly will not buy from them again. Other reviews I have read imply similarly.

The product I DID receive was lovely. However, I ordered two of the hampers for Christmas presents and only received one. After emailing them a few times, I have not received a reply (or a new hamper or refund). Really disappointed in the service.

I spotted Cartwright & Butler in a Selfridges hamper online and headed straight to the website to find out more. I was instantly bowled over by the products on offer: beautifully designed with a gorgeous selection of hampers and sweet and savoury treats. They make the perfect gifts for loved ones and for yourself - my (what feels like a lifelong!) quest for buttery, homemade fudge has finally come to an end! I was impressed by how indulgent, more-ish and nostalgic it was simultaneously (I'm salivating at the mere thought of the salted caramel brownies - I demolished them in two days!] I'm looking forward to trying out more products from Cartwright & Butler over the coming year. I also bought a retro sweets hamper for my sister's fiancé - the perfect gift for people who are tricky to buy for! The service was great too and continued to update me from the moment I ordered right up until delivery.

I found about this brand through Selfridges when I was on the lookout for fudge and could not be happier! My sister bought a hamper for my fiance and bought some extra fudge - one Salted Caramel and one Butter Fudge - for us to share. This is the fudge I have been desperately searching for years - I could not be happier! Can't wait to order again!

Really disappointed as the product I received didn’t look as good in reality, so wanted to return it for a refund. Which I’m entitled to do. I paid for the initial delivery to be sent to me and Cartwright & Butler said they wouldn’t pay for the return delivery either, which means I have to pay two lots of delivery. Nearly the cost of the product! They said it’s because of COVID, they have to throw away all products that are returned?? (Even though the product is in a sealed container??) What does that even mean? They would normally pay for returns delivery but because they lose out, then so do customers now?! Awful customer service - will never use again and will tell everyone to do the same
