Arrogant attitude after failure to deliver item promised as in stock
I had wanted to place an order for a power conversion for my Mk2, plus a tri porter conversion kit. So, I contacted Carp Porter Directly to check on stock availability, and was informed that although the green kit I wanted wasn't in stock, they did have the DPM kit, and advised I could buy a separate small bag in the colour I wanted. So, no problem, £1000 order placed, with confirmation it was in stock. Order arrived today, no power conversion kit, so I called to find out why, after they promised it was in stock, only part of my order was delivered. I was then told that the items had arrived this week, but were still being put together, and they do not ship on a Friday. When |I then forwarded the email where they confirmed they had the item in stock, I was then told someone had bought the last one moments before I placed my order, they had to make more, and that again it would be shipped Monday as they do not ship on Fridays. I gave up in frustration, said they could collect the order they had delivered and refund me. That's when the arrogance started. "It doesn't work like that" I was repeatedly informed. I would have to return the partial order at my own cost, which they would not refund, and when I questioned that I was told to go read their terms and conditions. Luckily I placed the order via my credit card, so am insured against this kind of arrogant nonsense, but if I was Danny Fairbrass I'd probably want to know how my team were treating my customers and their orders. I've used my Carp Porter for years, but will look at the other powered options given this experience and give another company the $1000 I would have spent here. Use them at your own risk, but do be cautious, and do not take their web site, or indeed reassurances from them directly that they actually have these items in stock.
