Outstanding service from all of the staff at Carlingo

I and my wife's experience at Carlingo car dealership was a pleasant one. Josh was quite pleasant, and took his time to explain explicitly what we are getting into, breakdown insurance, and the maintenance bit. There was also transparency on their pricing and no pressure to purchase the vehicle. The purchase was smooth, we bought the car, and so far so good we have been enjoying driving it around.
However, we paid half and finance the other half, and I am not sure of the finance company used by Carlingo, as I can see a lot of negative reviews; hence the 4 stars.

On our first visit, we received a friendly welcome and were allowed to examine the cars without interference. When we asked to see a specific car, the representative opened the car for us and allowed us to examine it in detail.

On our second visit to purchase the car, we were offered a drink while waiting. The representative, Amy, was very helpful indeed, not overbearing, explaining quite clearly the value of our car in part exchange and the process we needed to follow to purchase our chosen vehicle. She arranged a convenient time for us to collect the car.

On our third visit, the representative, Joey, was just as helpful, and we left the dealership with our car, fully satisfied with the buying experience at Carlingo.

Everything was fine, but found a fault with the car when I got home which Carlingo must have known about and they didn’t mend it or tell me about it so. Really annoying

Choosing and buying the car was excellent, first class experience with sales person, all made very clear. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Before I could drive it away there was a problem with ignition system. Car would not lock or unlock, radio stayed in when key taken out etc.
After sales manager was very apologetic and we decided to take it home and straight to my local vw dealer, get it repaired and Carlingo will pay bill.
Booked in for repairs on the 22nd so car off road till then at least

We purchased a vehicle from Carlingo for £20,500. After 7 months the vehicle suffered a gearbox fault, which was independently diagnosed as a mecatronics unit failure.
We raised a formal complaint under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Despite providing an independent report and allowing time for investigation, Carlingo has so far not provided a clear resolution.
As the vehicle was required for work, we had no option but to pay for the repair ourselves while the complaint remains under investigation.
We are disappointed by the lack of timely communication and are currently awaiting a final response.

Update: Following escalation, Carlingo has now reimbursed the remaining repair cost. While the issue took time to resolve and required persistence, it has ultimately been settled.

Thank you for your response.
For clarity, we did contact Carlingo by phone when the fault first occurred and were advised at that time that it should be handled via the warranty. A formal complaint was then raised once it became clear that the matter was not being resolved.
The vehicle was required for work, so the repair was authorised while the complaint was ongoing.
The matter has now been resolved and the outstanding costs reimbursed.

Edited to add just took car in for mot brake pads and discs have failed we have done less than 3000 miles it appears we have been let down again this is not wear and tear these things should last longer on a car costing over £20,000 and only having it for 8 months and driving less than 3000 miles.

The sales process went well and all this explained, the problem was on collecting the car, paperwork which I was told would be sorted was not, the up to date MOT certificate was not given, and the service book had the latest service details missing, which had been carried out by Carlingo. The simple solution is the mechanics fill in service book on completion and the new MOT certificate is put in documents package. The person handing over the car should be made aware of the status of service dates and mot.

Great experience using carlingo. The details of the car, the photos and video on the website were accurate. Service was friendly and not pressured. I got lower finance than I was offered at other dealerships using there finance company. My car was ready in less than 3 days since first contacting them.
