A great place to buy a Kia
From our first visit to collecting our new car, we felt welcomed and looked after.

The young man (Ben) I dealt with was very helpful and polite. This is the sixth Kia I've had from this dealer over the years and have always had good service.

Extremly poor customer service. I made an offer on price of a car but then was bombarded with messages.
Someone called and said the car it’s still for sale and would I like to come and see it.
I asked him about my offer to which he said we only sell car at the asking price. I was like why calling then as I already made an offer. The man on the phone said to be with arrogance” WE ARE GOOD AT SELLING CARS”Kia venga 2018 with 60000k miles up for £5995. The market value of the car is £4875.00. So they wanna make 1k plus profits on a car which will be brought by a middle class section. Refer to the pics attached.
You just say yes or a no to an offer made by the customer.
On auto trader where the car is listed to sell has same model for the price of 6.2k for half the miles clocked.“GOOD AT SELLING CARS” even if it’s a rip of price and taking pride in scamming their customers.
I will not be buying and will keep my friends and relatives away from them.
Then told me that on closing message “SORRY, YOU DONT HAVE THE BUDGET”
I have the budget but not going to get ripped off.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
UPDATE:
just had the Director, Harry Bullock phone me and continually shout “We will not see your vehicle. Come and collect your vehicle” due to the review I put on below.
Also stated no complaints process to take this higher.
Also allowing a car that is unsafe to be driven away.
Did not address any of the complaints made via email prior to this Google review.
Was aggressive and rude and hung up part way through the call.
I have now taken this higher to the Motor Ombundsman. This garage should not be allowed to put the KIA logo on their building if this is how they represent their brand.
I actually bought a car from this garage around 10 years ago, had excellent service, both in sales, in servicing and warranty faults. Looks like under the leadership of Harry Bullock, the customer experience has gone downhill.
I reiterate that with the way I have been treated here by both Harry Bollock and The service team, this garage is not fit for purpose and needs thorough investigation when reviewed by Kia head office.
I will also be escalating in other areas until I receive a full, written apology from Harry.

Service team member was incredibly rude. Sighed at me because i asked them to contact another garage about lubricant type. All being said before they even looked at the issue. I’m not a mechanic. Also have to wait 20 days for car to be seen. No offer of a courtesy car and instantly made no effort to help. Just said none are available. Not even bothered saying, we don’t have one now, but we will add you to the list and contact you. Just brushed off and told to contact Kia customer service. Literally from the moment of ringing she tries to get out warranty issues. Do not bother buying a Kia, if you have don’t use this garage. No support, or care in the world for customers.
Avoid this service department at all…
Avoid this service department at all costs! I am beyond frustrated with their lack of accountability. My head unit keeps shutting down and restarting. Despite having a service plan, they are demanding £144 just to look at it, even though they failed to check it during my last visit.
I followed their instructions and captured video proof of the fault, yet they still refuse to honor the service plan or warranty without extra fees. To make matters worse, they use "warranty voiding" as a threat to stop you from going elsewhere, while quoting thousands of pounds for repairs they haven't even properly diagnosed. They are quick to take your money during the sale, but as soon as you need support, they disappear. Absolutely unprofessional and irresponsible.
Awful experience in general
Awful experience with car, told they were going to fix things and didn’t. Not sure how they passed our new car on a MOT as so many issues that would potentially be fatal in an accident. After ringing multiple times and being promised a call back, nothing happened so had to contact the manager. Absolutely gutted as we had such high hopes. Do better!
One of the worst car-buying experiences…
One of the worst car-buying experiences I have ever had. Be extremely cautious, as there is a risk of being sold a vehicle that has previously been involved in an accident. I lost trust in them, particularly as this is an authorised Kia dealership where higher standards are expected.
They were unwilling to take responsibility and failed to follow proper vehicle inspection procedures. On top of this, the customer service was appalling, with clear miscommunication and a lack of accountability. Their mistakes could have potentially put customers at risk.

Do NOT use. Their reply is dishonest and does not address their dishonesty.
Car was taken for MOT and service recently. Returned to us with the screen washer not working, despite working before it was taken in and despite them giving the washer a green dot on the online checklist. Seems very co-incidental that it stopped working between leaving their premises and us getting the car home. We will be notifying the DoT that these charlatans should not be registered to do MoTs as it appears they did not properly check the washer despite giving it a pass.
And why were we not given a printed checklist of all activities undertaken?
Replacement motor £147!! Nice work if you can get it.
Totally incompetent and stupid receptionist; seems unable to read. She was insistent to my wife that we had a MoT in May; we did not even visit the dealership in May!
Do NOT use these charlatans. A very high 43% one star rating on Trustpilot confirms our view.

No customer care
I have purchased 2 brand new cars (no idea why I went for the 2nd!) from this branch. The 1st a brand new sportage broke down after 800 miles Burton Kia really struggled with the fix and wanted me to keep driving it and breaking down. I put this down to a bad car, I eventually swapped to a Sorrento, the roof leaks terrible, they lied and said they fixed it to fob me off and it's currently back in there, they arranged for me to send it to the bodyshop at Ford who confirmed the drainage has failed in the sunroof but they don't have availability to fix it, as Kia cannot fix it they are trying to fob me off with another "windscreen repair" that was apparently carried out 6 months ago. I'm sure in that case I'll be back again at the next heavy rainfall. Awful customer service (just ignore you) don't bother using.

In my view, if you are considering buying a vehicle from Burton Kia you are doing so at your own risk. It is essential you thoroughly inspect every aspect of the car yourself. This means check every single thing works. The switches, buttons, both keys, wing mirrors, and the overall condition of the body, among other things. Do not take delivery or proceed with payment until you are completely satisfied and have verified that everything functions correctly. The dealership places the onus of inspection on the buyer, as they do not assume any responsibility afterwards even though they claim they have checked and give a warranty. If you are fortunate, you may encounter no problems; however, if issues arise, you will find it impossible to communicate with this dealer, as they become unresponsive.
I encountered several issues:
1- Car was being valeted upon arrival even though I had paid deposit 6 days prior. Once it was ready, I discovered multiple rust spots and paint chips on the vehicle which were not shown on video.
2. One of the keys was non-functional. It was resolved by programming the key to the car. Fortunately, we checked this. Had we left and found out later then it definitely would not have been rectified by them as you will see below.
3. While driving home, I noticed that the driver's side wing mirror was missing a big piece of plastic and had a crack in the black casing. This damage was not mentioned in the initial video or at any other time before. Had this issue been disclosed in the initial video and they would sell it as it is then I would not have purchased the vehicle. On their logic, they should not have highlighted and repaired the seat. Unfortunately, I have to look at this wing mirror every time I drive therefore reminding me of the terrible treatment I have received from Burton Kia.
4- The buttons for the cup holder fail to function as they do not slide open when pressed. It is evident that this issue was not examined by trained technicians, contrary to their claims. The right side cup holder is loose so comes away from the unit. what is the purpose of their own "comprehensive 12-month warranty along with the remainder of manufacture Kia warranty guaranteed". Another claim they advertise and not deliver.
5- The vehicle was advertised on Autotrader with 2 years of breakdown coverage. Upon my arrival, I was informed that it only included one year due to the vehicle's age.
6- The worst part of this purchase. It was only after I expressed my concerns via email, rather than at the time of the part exchange handover, that they raised an issue regarding the service history. The sales manager, Shane Ward asserted that my part exchange lacked full service history, a claim I never made in any initial conversation with him or at the time of the agreed deal. In my view, surely any discrepancy should have been raised at the handover not this way of trying not to offer any solution by blaming the service history of the part exchange.
7- Warning light on the car has come on within a couple of weeks. As they have not been replying to the above there was no point contacting them. In my view, I don't feel the car was checked properly given all the issues I have encountered.
Shane Ward stopped replying to
my initial complaint so I contacted the branch manager, Lee Hale. I provided Lee the email evidence of the part exchange service history which I got from the garage they sold the car to. This showed I gave the service history not what Shane claimed. Lee did not reply to my complaint. I also exercised my rights under Consumer Rights Act 2015 which Lee replied that I had to deal with Shane regarding this even though I had an active complaint against Shane.
Finally, when no response was received then I emailed Charlie Bullock the managing director with all the above. He has also not replied.
I have put a detailed review on Burton Kia facebook page as limited here on words. There are videos and pictures of all the above.

I recently bought a car from Kia Burton-on-Trent. Marley made it a very enjoyable, stress free experience.
He was very professional and patient throughout the whole process explaining everything in detail to me. I would definitely recommend both Kia Burton annd Marley to anyone considering buying a car.

I was very impressed with the service I received here. In the first instance from Marley and then Anton who was also great to deal with taking me through the sale of a car. I hate pushy sales staff but fortunately this wasn’t the case here and I had a stress free experience of buying a car (other than payment 😀).
So far I’m pleased with my vehicle and a slight minor issue was dealt with quickly and professionally by Anton.
Would recommend.

First tine visit to BurtonKia. Made very welcome and introduced to Simon,who I had contacted by email. Simon was very professional and knowledgable about the car which I test drove. He made me feel comfortable as he explained controls etc. following test drive I decided to purchase the car. My part exchange deal was a simple process. This was on Monday. I arranged to collect my purchase on Friday. As promised by Simon the car had received a service, mot and a few added extras. The whole process was stress free mainly thanks to Simon’s professionalism and politeness.
Was I Invisible?
My husband and I called in to look at the Kia Sportage as I am soon due to order my next Motability car. One of the things I wanted to check was that my disability aids would actually fit in the boot. Unfortunately the boot wouldn’t open so instead we spent a few minutes looking at the interior of the car but the dashboard was totally black, like as if the battery was flat.
There were 3-4 sales people in the showroom but no one approached us even to say hello. One of them kept watching me but after having a drink of water he then picked up his phone.
We were in the showroom for 25 minutes but no one came anywhere near to us so eventually we decided to leave. Perhaps it was because the sales staff didn’t want to deal with a Motability customer!!!
Fortunately I live in an area where there are 2 other Kia dealerships so I don’t ever have to return to Kia Burton should I want to choose the Sportage.

Called in to look for a motorbility…
Called in to look for a motorbility car. Interested in a Kia Sportage. Spoke to two different sales people, one who I think was the manager. Neither of them showed any interest and couldn’t be bothered to speak to us. So we left and went to Renault in Burton. Completely different,couldn’t help enough. Very helpful and I purchased a new Symbioz about 40 mins later. Kia obviously don’t want to sell cars, or don’t want to deal with the disabled. Absolute waste of time
