I purchased the Buddi System quite a many years ago for my wife who suffered dementia. It provided everything that I, as a carer, needed. My wife has now passed away but I have developed a serious balance problem and thought that the Buddi system was an excellent item to help with the occasions that I fell. The equipment that I originally bought for my wife wouldbe great for me also. For several years I was very happy with the Buddi but more than one occasion I emergency contact would get email messages telling him that my batteries were very low on charge. The next time this happened I set both parts of the Buddi system on charge at the same time. After about 18 hours the charger showed that the GPS piece was fully charged but the wrist watch was only showing 1 bar of charge. When I lifter the wrist watch it was making a noise like an adiated wasp. When I contacted Buddi customer service there was NO support as apparently Buddi NO LONGER DEAL WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC. I now have two pieces of equipment which I originally paid around £260.00 along with the monthly contract of around £24.00

My wife sufferred altzheimers but I found this wonderful company, BUDDI, they provided a wonderful tracking facility. If my wife went outside a parameter, set by me, I received an emergency call from BUDDI staff by phone. Wonderful service. A few years later, when my wife passed away, I was suffering regular falls. My balance was very bad, so I signed up with BUDDI, using my wifes equipment. Initially worked well for me. Recently, 01/04/2026. My wristband would not take a charge. I contacted BUDDI, only to be informed that they could not repair or replace the wristband. This makes my entire BUDDI system redundant. The wristband component is the part that detects falls. This situation was obviously a financial decision. Buddi no longer supply this equipment to the general public. Pity such a wonderful device is no longer available to the general public. I have recommended these devices to friends who would need these. I hope none of them bought a BUDDI.

Customer service is very good. Always received a call back to keep me updated when we had a slight problem with the device recently. Everything resolved so I now have a very happy wife again. For anyone considering the same as us, we bought and used it in the UK for years before moving to France. It works exactly the same over here.

Faced with an issue due to an expired debit card, I updated my information, but the transaction still failed. Buddi came to the rescue with exceptional support, assuring me they were dedicated to resolving the situation. I was impressed by their assistance, as well as their kindness and empathy toward me as a senior. I am truly grateful for their efforts.

I am genuinely disgusted with the lack of compassion and understanding I have experienced from Buddi.
So here's what they don't make clear: hidden away in their terms of service is a clause which says that the wristband you buy cannot be sold or transferred to anyone else. These are only on their website, right down at the bottom in tiny writing. It was not highlighted when I bought it, nor did any paperwork come with the tag to alert me to this fact. I didn't buy it for myself in the first place, I bought it for a relative who died before they were able to use it. I'm unclear now whether they would even have been able to register it.
Having finally felt able to go through their things I came upon the wristband and thought it would be good for someone else to make use of it.
Apparently, however, this is not permitted. I have pleaded with Buddi customer service to allow it to be used by someone else, but the only concession they would make was for an immediate relative to have it. I have no immediate relatives who could benefit from it.
It seems the thing must now go in the bin completely unused.
Whilst I recognise that it is fully legal to have terms and conditions which are available on your website, these folks are a product which is most likely to be bought by or for an elderly person, and quite possibly, such as in my case, at a very stressful time when a loved one is seriously ill or injured. It's not really very honest. I also think it's pretty unusual (and effectively it's illegal) to sell something and seek to dictate how it can be used after sale and who by.
Lesson: Only buy a Buddi wristband for yourself and only if you expect to wear it in the long term to get your investment back.
