Worth it!
I found Breakfree Nutrition through Facebook and I was skeptical that they could help with my binge eating. I spoke to Martin on a zoom call and he was lovely, but what convinced me was that he showed that he understood the issues I was facing and predicted the patterns I was stuck in and predicted how I would probably feel later. So I joined. Each week, I worked through the modules and worked hard to practice what we had learnt. And slowly, slowly, I changed.
Martin took time to reply to my messages and give me detailed individualized feedback that could actually help me. In the Q&A session, I heard from other people that were struggling with the same issues! So lovely to hear from them and know I wasn't alone.
I like that there were actual concrete practical things I could try, strategies to implement. I have been to counsellors but they rarely give you the actual tools you need to help yourself.
Martin is patient and kind. He has obviously been helping people with food issues for a long time and it shows in his knowledge and what he shares with us. He shares personal stories which makes us feel a bit more normal, a bit more human, for our weird patterns and behaviors that we don't normally shine a light on.
I have stopped binge eating. I am not bothered by food anymore. I can eat chocolate and stop. I have stopped hiding food and eating in secret.
It took me 6 months, but it was worth it.
