Customer service has better things to do than to help out the customer.
The customer is wrong because they’ve been doin this for 10 years, so everything they do is right. How quickly can they get you off the phone while making you feel invalidated.

Product quality terrible

Their clothes are fine, they come in extended sizes which in my opinion they should do more of. I am a true medium and often I am buying XL or 2x to get my size which means the true xl-2x are low on options. They are owned by Walmart, which they don’t like to tell people and they are also I’ve heard gross to their staff which they don’t like to tell people. I used to like to shop there but I spoke with an ex-employee once by happenstance that completely stopped me from shopping there. We were chatting at a coffee shop because they nicely commented on a shirt I was wearing from there, lovely man, and we got to talking. They told me about how they loved their job but eventually quit because they had the best sales numbers in the entire EAST COAST for so long, and the leadership said their “personality” was the reason they didn’t get the promotion to leadership of sales. You guessed it, it’s a simple case of racist behavior- this man was Black, and it broke my heart that he was amazing at his job and they treated him like that. I could tell he wasn’t lying either because he was so personable and discerning that you would trust his opinion if you were asking his shopping advice. We had a great conversation very easily because he was easy to talk to. I’m not surprised the upper management & leadership there doesn’t support their staff as a Walmart conglomerate; but I will not be shopping there anymore in solidarity with that mans experience.

I have made several orders over the past 2+ years. Best off-the-rack sizing options for causal work pants and khakis that I have found anywhere. As a not- so-tall guy, being able to get a variety of trimmer pants with inseams that fit right out of the box is great. Pants have all held up great. Cotton sweaters are also more upscale than most others I have found and also have a trim cut, rather than a typical full fit. Definitely one of my go-to shops for men’s clothing.

If you are even thinking for one minute to order from this company, run like the wind. I will acknowledge that the quality is fair enough. That is the place it all ends! Customer care is nonexistent. It is impossible to get anyone to assist via text, phone, or email. I finally had to get AMEX involved and still no word from Bonobos. Thank goodness for AMEX, if you purchase from them be ready for a bad experience. I will never again order from them and have even gone so far as to contact Nordstroms and let them know they should discontinue selling this product.

So far I am disappointed with the level of service. I ordered clothing on December 13th and was anticipating a prior to Christmas delivery given that the estimated wait time at the time of order was 6 - 7 days. Today is December 20th and the status of my order is showing that it hasn't yet left the warehouse. The customer service phone availability hours are only 1pm to 4pm EST M-F. Otherwise, you can use their live chat, which has more extended hours of availability. The problem is that their live chat is only really "available" when the icon is showing. Currently there is no icon showing, so, I have no way of contacting the company at 11:50 am on a Monday morning. Very different experience so far than what I expected based on how many articles had advertised this company. Clearly the articles were just paid advertising.

As a big fellow, they have the most accurate size chart I've ever come across, and for that I am grateful. Their coupon use is a tad bit weird (ie doesn't work sometimes) and customer service isn't exactly the best since Walmart bought them (who wudda thunk it?!). But their shipping speed is pretty decent and choice of clothing in the B&T section is again above average, so would recommend. Not highly, but still

I never actually completed a purchase, so I can't comment on the quality of their garments. But my experience trying to make my first purchase guaranteed that I would never be a customer.

When you register with the Bonobos website, you immediately get an offer of "20% off your first purchase" if you apply a specific discount code at checkout. When I tried to purchase a "bundle" of polo shirts, I entered the discount code and received no discount. When I contacted Bonobos to find out why this was the case, they told me that the discount codes do not apply to bundles.

In Bonobos land, bundles are offers to purchase multiple garments at the same time for a reduced price. The polo shirts I intended to purchase sell individually for $68, but if you purchase three of them they are $48 apiece. That is an example of a bundle. Bonobos offers many different kinds of bundles for dress shirts, casual shirts, polo shirts, tee shirts, pants, undergarments, and outfits (pant/shirt combinations). Bonobos claims that bundles are merely promotional and not a regular feature of a normal shopping experience. But their website has a whole section devoted to bundles and the bundle prices are reflected in the shopping cart automatically without the need to enter any discount code. So, it appears that bundles are a regular feature and I would bet that the vast majority of their sales come through purchases of bundles.

According to Bonobos, because the bundled price is lower than the 20% discount price, the discount won't apply because the bundle is a better deal. What is left unsaid, of course, is that a customer will never actually be able to apply a discount code to any purchase unless that customer chooses to pay more than he should for the same garment. I can purchase three polos for $48 apiece as any customer can, or I can buy a single polo for $54.40 (20% off the regular $68 price). That's a discount of -13%. Great deal, right?

As far as I'm concerned, this is a bait and switch. I was offered a 20% discount off of my first purchase and they refused to honor that offer, instead insisting that the regular bundled price of $48 was the real bargain. The bottom line is that when I put three polo shirts into the shopping cart with no discount code, the total price was $144. And when I put the same three polo shirts into the shopping cart WITH a discount code, the total price was $144. The discount code that is supposed to give "20% off of your first purchase," but actually gives 0% off (or -13% off if you choose to pay more than you should).

Of course, I didn't complete the purchase. Bonobos should stop offering discounts they have no intention of honoring. I gave them multiple opportunities to make good on what amounts to a $28.80 discount to potentially win a loyal customer, and instead they gave me multiple explanations that defy math. And if this is my first experience with this company when they're trying to woo me as a customer, I can only imagine how future experiences will go. Thanks, but no thanks.

Nice products but getting in touch with customer service is a joke. No one is ever available to take your call and it takes 3 business days for them to answer email!! Inexcusable! Do they really care about the customer? Not in my book. I try to avoid Bonobos as much as I can. There are better alternatives with great customer service.
