The owner of the company promises the money back for a trip canceled due to the weather and lies as much as he can. Don't believe his lies, the promised money will not be returned. Avoid the company and Duje Mihomilovitz from afar and you will save time and money.

Ponzi scheme. An Admin of large fb group Duje will take a select few groups on the trip. They will rave about the experience on this same fb group. And he will book many folks for the summer, take their money in full! and not refund it back. Avoid at all cost and DO NOT PAY in full. Do not pay using Revolut or PayPall. Only pay in cash after you receive service.

I booked a full day trip and Duje cancelled the tour the night before saying the weather was not good, he asked if we could do another day, and we cancelled our other things and he ended up canceling again. He promised the refund in 2-3 days . Until now 19 days, every day is a different excuse. SCAM

SCAMMER! DO NOT BOOK! Duje Mihovilovic is his name. This man asks you to pay him upfront and then cancels your trip for "wind", "weather", or another fake excuse. He then waits until you are out of the country to start with the excuses for the refund. All the while stating you will get your money back, but it is a scam. Moral of the story is he is a scammer that doesn't provide a service. I have reported him to both the Split authorities and the Toursim Board. Truly a souring experience for such a beautiful place.
P.S. I hope all of the people that fell for his rouse get their money back through other means.

THIS IS A SCAM! As many of the other recent reviews have said, your tour will be canceled and you will never get your promised refund back. The owner of this company reached out to us the night before we were supposed to have our boat tour claiming that the weather would be bad and we could not go out. It ended up being a beautiful weather day and many other boat tours went out without issue. Then the owner asked if we could make the following day work, which we said we could. Once again, the night before he cancelled due to "weather" assuring me I would get a refund in 1-3 days. It's been over 2 weeks now of him giving me excuse after excuse on why I haven't gotten a refund. He says that he's been stranded on a Croatian island and can't send the money until he gets back to his computer and then the excuse was his point of sale system is down and the refund isn't going through, etc... This has happened to SEVERAL other people who are out thousands of dollars since the beginning of August. Please do not be fooled by all the good reviews like I was, this man is a con artist.

Booked a whole day boat tour with Duje, owner of Bonaca Tours. The day before he called to say weather was not going to be good and he offered a refund. Turns out weather was fine, and this is just the start of his scam. He then spent the next few days saying there issues with the bank etc. Finally, once we had left Croatia, he sent a whole host of other excuses as well as fake payment confirmations. He then also blocked me on social media wherever I've called him out. He owns some Facebook pages so deletes negative comments. Keep far away from Duje and Bonaca Tours! You will not get a boat ride or ever see your money again!

Do Not use this company. This company and is owner Duje milovilovic cancelled our tour and a transfer to the airport the night before it was supposed to take place and hasn’t given us a refund. it’s been over 6 weeks. He has stolen our money and now will not respond to any texts or emails. I have spoken to many other people who have experience the same situation. Please Do not use them.

This may have been a legitimate in the past but we were scammed in Aug 2024 and reviews from others suggest this has now become a fraudulent operation. We had booked a tour in May for an excursion in August and this was meant to be a highlight of our holiday. Unfortunately the owner Duje Mihovilović cancelled our tour at the last minute under the pretence of bad weather forecast. We contacted no less than 10 other companies and all confirmed the weather forecast was fine. Luckily for us we did go on a tour after rebooking with another company but Duje/Bonaca never refunded the money. We received several falsified transfer confirmations for funds that never arrived: this is clearly a fraudulent business. So sad to hear that so many travellers have lost money with this individual. Be warned!

I want to share a shambolic experience we had with BONACA BOAT TOURS in Split, specifically with the owner, DUJE MIHOVILOVIC. I’ve encountered significant issues regarding cancellations and non-refunds, a little bit of research shows that I’m not alone—many others have also reported ‘unnecessary’ cancellations with weather used as an excuse and also not receiving their refunds. Personally, I am owed over €1000, despite repeated follow-ups, I’ve only received excuses. At one point, Duje sent me a receipt of payment, however the funds have never arrived. I’ve spoken to other customers who have experienced very similar issues, one has been waiting for a promised refund since June. During our trip, despite several cancellations over three days, other boat tours in the area were operating as scheduled. Duje had advised us not to trust other companies, stating that "9 out of 10 will rip you off and are only in it for the money." He claimed our family (a group of 15) “will have a terrible experience and be puking after 30 minuets”. However, after doing some research on Duje, we decided to trust the local recommendations and booked a different tour on one of the days he cancelled us, this turned out to be amazing, the waters were as calm as we could wish for. What’s particularly troubling is, Duje continued to accept bookings and ask for deposits for the same days he had cancelled our tours, he denies this, we have the evidence. While he consistently responded to my messages with seemingly plausible excuses, we found that he was being dishonest with us on so many occasions. His actions disrupted three days of our holiday, leaving us unable to make alternative plans during that time. If anyone else has experienced similar issues and feels apprehensive about sharing due to concerns over his claims about bank delays or refunds, please feel free to contact me directly. I strongly urge anyone considering Bonaca Boat Tours to avoid this company and DUJE MIHOVILOVIC at all costs. He appears very charming, the ongoing pattern of cancellations, misleading communication, and constant fabricated lies around weather conditions and refunds is unacceptable. Don’t let them take your money or spoil your holiday. There are plenty of reputable and trustworthy tour operators in Split who provide excellent service, so please do your research and avoid the stress we went through. Please note, Duje has made a complaint to trip adviser about negative messages and requested these be deleted, everything in this message is factual, we have lots of evidence of all of this and many other things about this man, his company and other information. Whilst some people have had positive experiences, ours, and those of many others, highlight a serious issue. Positive reviews cannot excuse unresolved payments and repeated cancellations that are not validated. With some research we have also discovered that he has had one of his boats repossessed by the bank. This information is factual, please don’t believe a word this man says to you. He appears very charming, but in truth he’s a cheat, thief and liar

Please save yourself the stress and do not book with this company. We had a trip scheduled with Duje towards the end of August and it never happened. He was constantly postponing our trip, citing “weather conditions” even though the water was completely still and we could see dozens of other boats sailing throughout the day.

Prior to the booking and the holiday, we were pressured into paying the full fee instead of a deposit. This boat trip was a huge dream for our family, and we were taken advantage of, because if we didn’t pay the full fee in advance we would lose our booking. Huge red flag.

Duje will initially maintain contact with you in order to not raise suspicion. He will constantly lie and attempt to charm you. He promised us a full refund, which we are yet to receive. We are owed over €1,000. He has excuses for everything and his lies become unbearable to deal with. It is all part of his stalling tactics, so that you have most likely left the country before you realise it is all a scam.

To make matters worse, he has now completely severed contact with the person in our family who needs the refund. Blocked on all social media. His family is in on this too, as they have also blocked us (even members of our family who have not had any contact with them)

Duje is probably on the verge of bankruptcy and has resorted to using his business to scam tourists.

We had a day boat trip booked with him for a family of 15, we paid in full in advance (over 1000 EUR), and were really looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disaster.
The day before our trip, Duje messaged to cancel, claiming bad weather predictions. However, there was no bad weather— the sea was calm, and all other boat companies were running normally. He postponed our trip to the following day, and then again, for the same reason, even though the sea remained calm and the weather was perfectly fine. That’s when we realized something wasn’t right. Someone from our group messaged Duje pretending to book a boat for the next day (the day he said we can’t go because of the bad weather), and shockingly, he confirmed availability and asked for payment in advance.
We were lucky to find another company last minute, and they were fantastic and the weather was absolutely fine despite what Duje told us.
It has now been over two weeks, and we are still trying to get our money back. At first, Duje was communicative and even sent us a fake screenshot claiming he had issued a refund, he told us what his bank said and that there were some delays but that the money were sent. He called, apologizing, and came across as convincing, he was talking about his wife and daughter to gain our trust. But once we made it clear we didn’t believe him and started requesting our money daily, he stopped responding and eventually blocked us.
This man owes us over 1000 EUR, and his behaviour is manipulative and dishonest. How can he sleep at night???? After we left a negative review on one of the Facebook pages, it disappeared, and we were blocked, making us suspect he controls the content on some of these platforms. It’s a mystery how he manages to maintain a good overall rating on most sites.
Avoid Bonaca Tours and Duje Mihovilovic at all costs— do not fall for his tricks!

Please read all the recent reviews for this company. Duje over promises on everything, and then changes itineraries and doesn't refund anyone for un-used trips. They promise to have everything you need on their boat, and they didn't have much of anything. They said they would have water and an ice chest and they had neither. They had 2 masks, and no snorkels or fins. There was 14 of us, so 2 masks doesn't cut it. The biggest disappointment is Duje saying he will refund and then he never does. Find a better option!

If anyone has a boat tour booked with Bonaca Tours, or if you are thinking of booking with them (specifically the owner, Duje Mihovilovic) you might want to think again…

We had a boat tour booked recently, in the days leading up to it he made it out like there were weather issues and he eventually cancelled the tour. My mum who paid for the trip in full in advance (€1000+) has since been unable to get a refund and she is know liaising with her bank and law enforcement.

He’s in regular contact and there are always issues with his bank etc, in reality we’ve now seen many other reviews where he has done this to other people (check as many review sites as possible, trip advisor etc).

While he was cancelling our trip, someone in our group messaged him completely separately to see if he’d take a different party of 15 to the same locations on the same date and he accepted, asking for a full deposit… the weather/cancellation trick is something he does to keep hold of deposits without intention to return them.

Luckily, another local boat company took us out at short notice. We had an amazing day, the weather was perfect and sea was completely still, as per the real weather forecast.

If you decide to use his company, DO NOT pay in full because if it doesn’t go ahead you will not get a refund (despite his charming messages, promises and excuses).

We booked a private tour with Duje Mihovilović at Bonaca Tours - Private Boat Tours from Split,Croatia. We could custom our day exactly how we liked it. Duje also assisted us with random questions we had. It was an absolute pleasure so book with them… so easy!! The boat was super comfortable, spacious and had a nice big area at the back for relaxing/tanning, sipping cocktails and admiring the Dalmatian Coast. They took us to some of the clearest water spots for swimming and fun. We could also have a nice lunch on an island on route. I will most definitely recommend them and book with them when we go back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

He treated us like family….he even met us the morning of our trip while we were having breakfast just to say hello and surprise us with an incredible bottle of Croatian white wine!!! It’s all in the details!!!! We sailed to the blue lagoon, Trogir, Solta. We did a lovely wine and olive oil tasting at a very small family run winery that was one of the highlights of our day! Duje texted me throughout the day to ensure we were 100% happy! I can not recommend Duje enough! He goes the extra mile!!!

This was hands-down one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. Duje was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating and made sure that we were having a great time. He catered to our preferences and built the day around what everyone wanted. The boat was excellent and had nice features like the sun bed on the back of the boat. If I ever return to Croatia, I will undoubtedly repeat this experience with Duje as captain. Thank you again for making this day such a special one and for allowing us to see the beauties of Croatia.

the experience was amazing, our driver Duje was super sweet and extremely professional. Everything was top notch, we went twice in a span of only three days. That should tell you enough!

Our party of five friends hired a boat for 1 day in early September. We had an amazing experience and a wonderful day none of which would have been possible without Duje at Bonaca Tours.

We booked the tour in advance of arriving in Split (after reading some great reviews on a Split Facebook group). Duje was very responsive when exploring trip options via WhatsApp and we paid for the trip fully in advance. No issues with any of the organising,booking or payment (which can be a concern when booking from afar).

Duje met us, as promised in the morning in Split, he listened to what we would like to do and then took us to a number of amazing and beautiful places. Including a quiet cove for swimming, the shipwreck for snorkeling, blue lagoon, Milna and Trogir. We also stopped off in Solta at a breathtaking place for lunch. Duje was a wonderful host who was knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions. He couldn't have been more accommodating and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others. We only wish we could do it all over again!! Thank you again
