I didn't just pass - I can now Ride.

We covered over 100 miles of riding most days, 4-6 hours on the road, plus pad time. Thats 35-40 hours of road riding + pad time, over 450 miles clocked up.

Toby was excellent in his approach and challenged us to get up to speed quickly, but was adaptable and approachable, tailoring the sessions to our individual needs.

Having always adored motorcycles, but found them intimidating and fundamentally did not know how to ride, I've gone from zero experience to complete confidence on the machine.

This course - the intensive 6/7 day doesn't teach you to pass a test, it teaches you how to be comfortable and safe on a motorcycle.

I cant recommend BMW Rider Training enough. Completed a 6 day DAS course which was a fantastic experience, the amount of riding we did was astonishing, I had previously trained with a different local school and the difference in level of coaching and time on the bikes was night and day.

Our instructor Toby was brilliant, incredibly knowledgeable and really great at getting the best out of us. I felt that I learnt far more than just how to get through my tests and having the opportunity to learn and improve so much as a rider with such a great and experienced instructor really set this school apart from the competition.

It’s more than just passing mod 1 and 2 for this training school, the experience from all the team is beyond anything I have spoken to other training schools.

Denice and Ian were incredible throughout the whole week, to be told when everything had finished and about to go home how far I have got in ability really did make me appreciate what I have learned over the 7 days of intense training. (I had never been on a motorbike before this training)

They offer much more than just the pass stamp on the driving licence, nothing is too much bother everything is answered to your ability to understand what you need to do or how to overcome what you need to do.

The whole package is the support you need to get you through and onto the road as a confident and safe rider giving the best possible chance to go home after a ride out on your motorbike. That is something you can’t put a price on!

I recently completed my motorbike training with BMW Rider Training in Exeter, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. From start to finish the whole experience was professional, friendly, and confidence-building.

A special mention has to go to Stan, my instructor. He was absolutely brilliant – patient, clear in his explanations, and genuinely passionate about helping you become a safe and skilled rider. He struck the perfect balance between keeping things relaxed and fun while making sure every detail was understood. His encouragement really boosted my confidence, especially in the trickier parts of the training.

The facilities and bikes were top-notch, and the whole team made the process smooth and enjoyable. If you’re thinking about motorbike training in the South West, Exeter BMW should be your first stop. Thanks again to Stan and the team.

If anyone wants to get themselves equipped to ride a motorcycle safely and get through the required tests, I can't recommend BMW Rider Training highly enough. Martin was a superb instructor, taking us through step by step, with great knowledge and patience. He took the time to build confidence and skill set, and by the end I felt I was a happy and confident rider (albeit more experience always beneficial), and was thrilled to pass and get my licence. If you're at all thinking of getting onto a motorbike, this is the course for you.

Novice to Licensed Rider!

I recently completed a 5-day motorcycle course, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking to start riding. Going from someone who had never been on a motorcycle to having a full license, despite a few personal mishaps along the way, is a testament to the quality of this program.

My instructors, Stan, Martin, and Chris, were phenomenal. Although a special mention to all the team I had conversations with, no question was to much and all super friendly.

Their teaching styles were consistently easy-going, approachable, and incredibly articulate. They excelled at explaining and breaking down all the complex steps into manageable pieces, which made the learning process much less intimidating.

The course content itself was excellent. I gained crucial skills in effective observations and reading the road ahead, allowing me to quickly process information and make confident, easy decisions while riding. The riding sessions were good, providing ample opportunity to practice these new skills and get miles under my belt. As I'm not from exeter, being on a motorcycle and riding new roads was overwhelming but they all understood and curated my training around this.

What truly set this course apart was the incredible training area, which included a private road network and a mock mod 1 training pad, these where invaluable, especially for getting used to a bike if you've never been on one before.
I'm now confidently looking forward to my advanced training in the future, all thanks to the solid foundation this course provided.

All in all BMW Rider training, THANK YOU for EVERYTHING. Not only did they teach me everything I now know. I also have a group of friends in Exeter.

Everything about the training was superb. I really can’t speak too highly about it; absolutely fantastic - the experience, the bikes, the training, the riding kit, and Exeter was a great location to learn. If you’re thinking about it, do it!

This Training centre (Royston) is second to none ! When first turning up everyone made you feel so comfortable and welcome !

And a special mention to Toby who was a fantastic instructor ! Very calm great teacher and endless amount of advice and knowledge!

All in all every instructor that I met was very welcoming and friendly and love a good laugh which puts you at ease straight away and I would 100% recommend anyone looking to do any of the courses available ( I did DAS 5 day ) ! Well worth the money hands down ! And to walk away with a pass for both mod 1 and 2 was just the icing on the cake !

Absolutely fantastic, not only has my riding improved tremendously and my confidence is up but so has my driving as a result. Toby, from the Royston site, was excellent and patient and prepared me for the test as much as possible. I knew exactly what to do on the day. The support from the other instructor, Iain, was fantastic, too. Both instructors made a welcoming and friendly environment and couldn’t do enough for me. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to pass their test and most of all understand the fundamentals of riding safely and confidently. Great experience, definitely worth the money!

Having experienced the dodgy end of the motorcycle training world with my CBT at a disused portacabin site on broken concrete and old bikes I wanted to find somewhere with decent facilities and training for direct access.

I picked BMW’s 5 day programme based on reviews.

I trained at Royston with Toby who was brilliant - huge credit to him for my first time passes.

The facilities, along the other trainers who were really helpful, fellow learners and the latest bikes the whole setup is class leading. I don’t think there’s any better way to learn.

I would highly recommend it to anyone serious about learning to ride.

I did my DAS course at the Royston school on the brilliant F800 GS. Denis was an excellent teacher. Very friendly, polite, patient and knowledgeable. Even though I had little to no experience on 2 wheels, his guidance allowed me to reach the standard of passing mod 1 and mod 2 with zero faults on each.

Highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to get their motorcycle license!

Great course whether you’re completely new to bike or own a smaller bike and want to upgrade your lisence. The equipment provided is clean and protective. The bikes are all brand new and very capable / easy to ride. The highlight is the great knowledgable team of instructors. Special thanks to Toby and Brian at the Royston school, they really made it an amazing experience.

The training at Exeter by MTS in conjunction with BMW was awesome thoroughly recommended.

I passed both my CBT & both parts of the DAS course first time with instructor Stan. I cannot recommend these guys enough! I was so nervous just going for my CBT, but before I got to the door I had a very friendly welcome from Chris and was instantly put at ease. I had Stan for both my CBT & DAS and I’m so grateful I did. He was calm, polite and very encouraging. He explained everything in great detail and in simple terms for me to absorb everything that I was able to put into practice straight away and remember everything going into my tests. Both Chris & Stan are great at being serious and getting the job at hand done while being easy going and have a laugh with you!

I absolutely will be back for an advance cornering course!

Absolutely brilliant 7 day course, would recommend them to anyone who wants to receive a great experience with the best trainers and with the use of quality motorbikes and safety equipment.
Thanks to both Ian & Denis for a great week and gradually building up our confidence and teaching us to ride safely and pass our A test.
As others have already confirmed this is a great place with first class trainers and facilities who will support you throughout the course to get you out on 2 wheels.
Don't waste you time get booked in with Ian and his team, the old adage in my view is true you get what you pay for in life.

Excellent intensive seven day course
Made welcome as soon as I walked through the door and put at ease. The facility are well organised and comfortable.
I did my training on a BMW 310 and they had adjusted the bike for my height. Again the bike was well maintained and rode beautifully.
I had two instructors in the course of my seven days and both were professional and would give constructive feedback to my riding, which help immensely.
They covered all types of roads during the seven days, which definitely helped with the test.
I passed my MOD 1 and A2 licence on day seven, this was made possible through excellent instruction by the trainers.

I have to say, Bmw riding training Royston was a fantastic experience carried out seven day course all the instructors were incredibly friendly and helpful and a really nice atmosphere and a well presented facility
