In June 2026
In June 2026, I completed the first 2 of 6 training days with Rapid. I live in Scotland and had the pleasure of riding with Alistair MacLean who has a wealth of motorcycling roadcraft knowledge and phenomenal ability.
Alistair was able to identify very quickly a number of areas where “work was needed” in my riding and melodically went through what I needed to do to improve. Alistair provided explanations and practical demonstrations that allowed me to incorporate the actions required into my riding plan. Its up to me now to practice, practice practice!!
I often use the phrase every day is a school day, and the 2 days of training were exactly that. Alistair’s training methodology is painstaking and meticulous. He was able to break down the challenges that I presented into small bits and deal with them one at a time, with each building on the one before, resulting in a package of small incremental improvements, which together help to make me a safer rider.
We explored some great roads in the Scottish Borders and Northumbria. Alistair has great local knowledge of the best roads for riding and the best places to stop for food and coffee. It was fun and I am very much looking forward to the next session later in the year.
And Yes, we did get a few overtakes in!
BikeMaster Level 1
I recently completed the BikeMaster Level 1 course with Rapid Training over a couple of very windy days, and it was an excellent experience.
My instructor, Tony Egbe, has a whole career of motorcycling behind him and was brilliant at passing on his knowledge. He explained things clearly, shared practical insights from his experience, and was also great company throughout the training.
The course itself was very well structured, with plenty of riding time balanced by regular stops to chat through what we’d covered. Those discussions were particularly valuable — Tony listened carefully and helped break down each point so the lessons really stuck.
I took the course because I’ve recently returned to riding after a few years away. I’ve moved from a relatively low-tech Harley to the latest BMW RT and wanted to make sure I was getting the most from the bike while riding with greater skill and a stronger understanding of safety and control. Having never had expert tuition before, this course absolutely delivered on all those aims.
For now, I want to bed down what I’ve learned, though I may well come back for the next level in the future.
I’d highly recommend the course to anyone who wants to improve their riding skills and technical ability. And if you’re lucky enough to ride with Tony, you’re in for a fantastic experience.
Beginner Rider
I discovered Rapid Motorcycle Training through a YouTuber I follow and decided to give it a go to improve my riding skills. As a relatively new rider (I got my full license less than a year ago), I wanted to build my confidence and refine my technique.
After an initial phone call, I opted for the Roadmaster training and was paired with Alan. From the start, Alan took the time to understand what I wanted to get out of the course and tailored his instruction and coaching to my needs. Over the two days, we alternated between observing my riding and using a radio so he could guide me through new techniques in real time.
By the end of the course, I felt like a much more confident—and, importantly, safer—rider.
The personal approach made all the difference, and I’d highly recommend Rapid to anyone looking to up their riding game!
Great day of training
Great day of training to supplement my IAM Observer training. Alan Thomas our coach for the day had already been very accommodating switching dates for me when I was unwell for the original date. Alan provide different insights to riding outside the IAM framework to highlight the need to thing and ride for myself. Nice Lunch and even though it was November and greasy roads the ride was great. If you want to develop your riding further and perhaps already have IAM/RoSPA, I can only recommend considering Rapid as a great supplement to this.
Bespoke training.............
Owning and riding motorbikes is my main hobby and has been since 1977 (I'm 64 now). Quite a long time really and I'm keen to continue as long as I can and I thought it might be an idea to get my riding assessed and to get some training to keep myself as safe as possible. I wasn't really interested in going any faster I just wanted to get some safety tips really so I went for the bespoke package and within a short time had a booking with Mark Reilly. We spent a bit of time talking about what I was looking for and then Mark was kind enough to point out some things that I could be doing better and some things that I wasn't doing at all that might help me! It kind of dawned on me that maybe I should have done this years ago but hey better late than never! The format was that Mark followed me to have a look at how I rode, followed by a debrief, then he would lead and show some options, then I would lead and he'd have another look at my riding and this repeated multiple times. The time just flew by and it never felt like training rather more like constructive coaching. The funny thing is that when I rode home after the session I felt very comfortable putting into effect the things we'd talked about and practiced and I felt I was riding much more smoothly with more of a plan and rather oddly was also progressing both more quickly (and safely) than before. From my point of view the outlay was money well spent. If it extends the life of your hobby as well as possibly your own life as well it's got to be worth it. I'll let everything settle down and practice what I've been shown and will definitely book further sessions with Mark/Rapid. If you're wondering whether to do it do not be concerned about being "judged" or "tested" - the speed the coaching takes place at is at your own pace and I never felt in the slightest bit uncomfortable or pressured to do anything I didn't want to do in any way. Mark is both friendly and professional and I would say if you're thinking about it definitely give it a go!
Just want to thank you to all the guys
Just want to thank all the guys at Rapid Training.
After last year completing my bikemaster 1-3 (and a tour of isle of man).
I came back this year firstly having a couple of days on a refresher (thank you, Martin).
Also had a.fantasric four day tour of the isle of man(again). Thank you Dave
I've then just had two days with these guys having had coaching with their track master level 1, course (thank you Mark).
These are a must experience, if you are looking for any sort of bike riding tuition.
The whole set up is very relaxed, all the coaches are very friendly, they make you feel comfortable and the advice they give is quality. They are very professional.
So looking.forward to going back next year.
Thank you guys
Thanks guys, for the
I have come close to dying a few times…
I have come close to dying a few times on motorbikes, been riding since 7 years old. I decided to purchase the bike of my dreams the
Honda 1000RRR SP Fireblade, & to help my prospects of staying alive, I chose RAPID training, to enhance my skill set for the road.
My coach was Joe, a true professional on comms when needed, reassuring me of ridding position and gently pulling me back into position when I loose concentration. Joe’s coaching never ended at the end of day 2 as I still felt his coaching, reminding me of the places where I needed help, in the report that was later provided to me. Joe is a true advocate to Rapid, I look forward to completing my Level 2 next year with Joe / Rapid when the funds permit.
If you want to be the best rider you can be there is no better training than Rapid.
Having done the normal 'ragging' offroad bikes when I was 15, I have finally gotten around (been given permission!), to get my bike license at the age of 51. I did this 2 years ago via Direct Access then went straight into IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists), after a quick taster of Bike Safe with Sussex Police and Biker Down for emergency medical training. In short, I realized that if I was to stay alive on the road I needed all the training I could get. Having got a 'credit' for IAM I went straight into BikeMaster 2 with Rapid. I didn't have too many ingrained 'bad habits' after having only ridden for 2 years but my inexperience showed under pressure. Rapid helped me on track to understand the true potential of my bike (Ducati Diavel 1200). Scraping the pegs was a novel feeling and learning how to safely apply exit drive, 3 stage braking and quick steer really educated me on how much grip you really have. This inspired massive confidence in corners which had been my nemesis. The Bikemaster 2 road days with Giles Lamb in Sussex were even better. Learning to apply the track concepts on the road really gave a practical use to what would otherwise have been interesting but not useful. Be accurate, how far out? where do you want to be?, How do you want the bike to feel? are all etched into my brain now on every corner. Yesterday I completed Bikemaster 3. We really started tuning the ride, less is more, only you know what you are doing, less busy, seeing everything without moving your head or reacting, prioritization of hazards. I am positive my riding will continue to improve if I keep practicing and developing. I no longer worry about corners or overtakes, I look forward to them, I hunt them out. My riding is soooo much more enjoyable and speed is a by-product of feeling in total control of the machine, trying to achieve accuracy and flow. I cannot recommend this enough. It is NOT cheap, but if you value your life, see motorcycling as a life skill and want to enjoy your riding to the max, then this is the best money you can spend. Thank you to the whole team (Giles & Dave especially) and I will follow your success on track with interest and support.
This Training Could be Superb!
Overall Experience
Training Period: October 2024 – July 2025
Coach: Vinnie Cooper – consistently outstanding across all levels: clear, patient, and highly skilled.
Routes & Stops: Beautifully planned, enhancing both the learning and riding experience.
Positives
Coaching Quality:
Vinnie delivered top-tier training throughout the entire program. His professionalism, clarity, and supportive nature made a significant difference.
Level 3 also featured Rich Evans for the track session at Blyton—equally excellent. Both coaches set the benchmark for what great instruction should be.
Scenery & Ride Routes:
Routes were scenic, thoughtfully chosen, and well-paced for both training and rest stops. They contributed meaningfully to the overall experience.
MESH Comms on Level 3:
The upgraded MESH communication system used at Level 3 transformed the course. Clear, consistent, and reliable—this is how all communication systems should work!
Negatives
Communication System Issues (Levels 1 & 2):
Frequent failures and sync issues with outdated equipment impacted training delivery.
These technical issues caused frustration, safety concerns, and a loss of valuable instruction time.
Despite reporting the problem early, there was no resolution until Level 3. Management’s handling of the MESH rollout was disappointing.
Inconsistent Coaching Quality:
Coaching at the Blyton track day (Level 2) did not meet the high standards later set by Rich and Vinnie. The contrast in quality was noticeable and affected the consistency of the training experience.
Final Thoughts & Suggestions
Rating:
Would rate 5/5 for the coaching provided by Vinnie and Rich.
However, the overall score is reduced due to early rider to rider communication issues and inconsistent instructor quality.
Recommendation:
Yes—with the condition that the MESH communication system is used throughout, and all instructors meet the same coaching standard as Vinnie and Rich.
Future Interest:
Definitely interested in a refresher course in 2026—preferably a non-track day version, with interest in Scotland and then Wales/Shropshire.
Closing Thanks
Special thanks to Vinnie for his exceptional dedication and consistent support throughout the course. His efforts were the highlight of the experience. It’s unfortunate that I had to take matters into my own hands to resolve the comms situation—it shouldn’t have come to that.
Bikemaster Lv 2 & 3 Track Days.... AWESOME!!!
Review UPDATE - May’25 – Bikemaster Level 2 & 3 Track Days
Finally made it to Blyton Park Raceway for my Bikemaster 2 & 3 Level Track days with Rapid Training. What can I say… AWESOME 2 days. Weather could not have been better and despite never having been on a track before, augmented with some initial nervice and trepidation, I embarked on the Bikemaster Lv2 coaching with Ian and Liam. Any initial nerves soon settled as Ian and Liam guided me around the track, building skills and confidence session after session throughout the day. Any pre-conceived ideas of thrashing around a racetrack amongst a melee, quickly evaporated as the emphasis was clearly targeted on increasing machine control and handling technique. Having completed the Level 2 road days back in October’24, this was a natural progression with both Ian and Liam nurturing with just the right amount of encouragement and building confidence.
The next day, Bikemaster Level 3 with Rich and Tony. Again, building on the skills from the previous day with even greater focus on layering vision, position, steering, throttle control and performance braking, the coaching emphasis was fully optimising machine control and understanding capability (machine and rider!!) in a safe and controlled manner. There is absolutely no doubt that my skills improved throughout the two days through better understanding of machine control, enhanced by the feedback/coaching from all the Rapid coaches, on and off the track.
The coaches on both days were brilliant – thank you to Ian, Liam, Rich and Tony. Your feedback and candour was greatly appreciated, the atmosphere relaxed but professional and I truly had a fantastic two days with you all at Blyton Park. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking to up their riding skills which has, without a doubt, increased my safety bubble out on the roads. While you might think this is expensive, it is very much an investment that will repay you for many years to come. Bikemaster Level 3 road days to come hopefully in the autumn this year.

Fantastic Experience
As a motorcycle rider with over 45 years riding experience you may question why I needed training.
In short I’d developed bad habits, lost my edge due to not riding enough and wasn’t getting the best of my bike and its features (Triumph 765RS for context)
So I decided to book the Bikemaster level 1 course and reset and refocus my riding and get my mojo back.
My coach was Martin Powell, a genuinely nice guy with a vast experience of both road and track riding.
Martin took time to understand the areas where I wanted to improve and show me in a safe and structured way how it could be achieved.
I had a fantastic 2 days riding with Martin and genuinely come away a better rider than the one that turned up on day 1.
I’ve already booked my next session at Blyton Park and looking forward to taking it a stage further.

Last Saturday and Sunday I took my level 1 ,it was a dank dark foggy snowy rainy Saturday, more suited for indoor activities in front of a roaring fire. Vinny cooper was my coach and immediately put me at ease during our paperwork session .Out on the road Vinny was brilliant. As a returning biker after a long long time my confidence was a little low. Vinny assured me that my riding was good and just needed help in the road positions and a re set of my seated position. At the end of day 2 I could feel it coming together. Now I have booked my level 2 and 3 with Vinny as coach, cant wait 🏍️

Great advanced Motorcycle Coaches, Tailored to you
I was looking for advanced training and not sure where to look. I liked the look of the Rapid Training Bike Master series as it is quite different to the IAM and ROSPA offerings. I was due to have a 2 - 1 customer to coach, but i had a 1 - 1 with Martin around Shropshire and Mid Wales. 2 great days of riding on great roads, Martin is a fantastic coach with years of road and track experience. I was exhausted by the time i got home, but it was so worth it. Hugely recommend Rapid for advanced training.

Highly recommend for any level of rider
I spent a total of 6 days with Martin on road across 3 months, during this time his coaching helped me identify weakness and strengths in my riding and mental processes when riding.
By the end this had helped me evolve as a rider to be more aware and feel more relaxed when dealing with unknown areas or difficult riding conditions and progress my riding to a higher standard.
Game changing coaching
Game changing coaching! I had a day 121 with Les Smith and I have come away a completely changed rider for the better. The training was completely tailored to me, and progressive. I highly recommend. Not only did I learn a massive amount, I had a massive amount of fun too! Thank you so much Les and Rapid!

Fantastic Experience
Two more sessions left on Bike Master course with Rapid’s pro rider Phil Barley. So 4 road days completed and 2 track days. This has been an amazing experience my awareness confidence and ability on road has increased dramatically. I now really enjoy my riding much more its now a complete pleasure riding and not just about getting to a destination. The track riding has inspired me to go out and buy a track bike, which I took to the track last week, and again the skills learned gave me the confidence to have a fantastic day. Lots more riding to enjoy and can’t recommend Phil enough. The track days are also so well organised by a great team from Rapid. Overall a fantastic experience! Don't miss out!

They get results
My confidence and my understanding of what my Motorcycle is capable of has grown significantly since I began the Bikemaster course.
I am currently doing Level 3 and on Monday the 15th July had a really intense and informative days track riding under the supervision of Mark and Liam. Thanks guys for a brilliant day !
I’m looking forward to two more days riding on the road with Phil and putting into practice some of the techniques I learnt on the track.
Thanks again.
Nigel.
I have just completed Bikemaster level 3 with 2 days training on the road with Phil Barley.
For me the Rapid training experience has improved my riding immeasurably.
Phil has without doubt improved my riding and at the same time enabled me to be much more relaxed and alert on my bike.
If you want to improve your riding what ever level you are the Rapid team get results.

BikeMaster Level 2 course
BikeMaster Level 2 course
two day intensive, informative, exhilarating (and perhaps not for the faint-hearted!)
As responsible, thinking riders who want to take riding to the next level, this is a ‘must do’ course!
Why accessorise your bike when enhancing your riding should be the higher priority! of competency, expertise, the understanding of the Rapid rider skill set requirement, including motorcycle machine control and handling skills.
Further, the coaching is essentially one on one training, even though there were two of us on the course, i.e 1:2 whereby we had both previously passed IAM and ROSPA advanced rider training.
Phil (our professional RAPID Coach highly qualified approx 30 years experience) his expert coaching and instruction was of the highest calibre, tailored so that we did not move on to the next area for development, until we had each achieved and fully understood what was required of us before he/we moved on to the next area of learning.
This course will advance and enhance your riding skills, so as to make all of us safer and more confident riders.
Whatever your current level of motorcycle riding skills, you will learn something new!
In between the (and I mean this lightly) ‘fast and furious’ national speed limit training and riding, I was taking breathers, making the most when in 20 or 30 mph zones, using my bike’s cruise control, so as to recuperate from the exhilaration with all my senses being heightened and at their highest levels!
My acronym for RAPID

Top class instruction
As an IAM member advanced rider I’ve done a tour with rapid of Yorkshire, Scotland and Lake District, also completed bike master level 2 at Blyton Park with additional road tracing around Yorkshire. I have now completed 2 days with Alan Thomas thru Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset. What a fantastic instructor. Put me totally at ease, picked out a fabulous mix of roads, instructions were clear, professionally delivered. Also some great food and coffee stops. Has taken my skill set to a new level. Highly recommend Rapid for anyone looking to improve their skills on a motorcycle and get more enjoyment out of their riding.
You’re never to old to learn (I’m 59) and will do e refresher course next year to keep on top of my game.
