I had a holding deposit under 8 hours of the add. And the only reason it took over a week to sell is because it was an interstate buyer and the gentlemen tried everything he could to get to it earlier.

Bikesales auto assignment of the bike…
Bikesales auto assignment of the bike type and it's details is too restrictive especially if you're trying to sell a bike that is not very common or has been modified from the original. For example I wanted to sell a Triumph 955i Daytona which had been properly and professionally converted from it's fully faired state to the naked 955i Speed Triple style. This is a popular conversion amongst Triumph enthusiasts and is typically referred to as a 'Speedtona'. Unfortunately Bikesales has no provision for identifying the bike as such.

The ad ref was SSE-AD-4678521. It was some time ago & I think the bike actually sold through Gumtree.
I just sold another bike, a BMW R1100S (SSE-AD-7230422) and this highlighted yet another issue with the auto-description. There is no provision to list the colours of an optional factory two-tone paint job. The bike is listed by BMW as Titan Silver/Mandarin Yellow but you can only select one colour in the listing.

Our site is driven by RedBook data, which pre-fills the ad with info about the bike as it would have been delivered from the factory. You raise an interesting point though and I'll review our current process for modified bikes - if you could reply with the Ad ID I'll use your bike an an example when following this up. Bikesales was great.
Bikesales was very simple and straight forward. Sold my bike within 7 days for asking price.
Users beware however, there are a lot of scammers that monitor the site and you should avoid the 'I live really far away and I'll send a courier' scam.

This is by no means the first bike I have sold via BIKESALES. Always get top dollar (as advertised), enough interested would-be buyers (only need one!), quick sale (five days to pick-up by buyer this time), and it's hassle free.
BUT - a gripe - you should state the maximum number of words and photos allowable under each selling package, otherwise one is guessing.

Fast and easy!
Responses were overwhelmingly fast! I put an add in the night before and had heaps of people responded the next day. I couldn't keep up. My bike sold that same day!
