Our aim is simple: to offer truly wonderful experiences in truly exceptional houses, for groups of friends and families. We have curated our fabulous collection of large houses to rent with great care. Each and every house has been hand-picked with those truly wonderful experiences in mind. All have oodles of space, luxury as standard, and unique features that add the ‘wow’ factor.
We’re a family business. It started with just the two of us; husband and wife duo, Gareth and Claire Allen. We’re developing a team of lovely like-minded people around us as we grow, who will make sure we never lose that family business feel. And that means we’ll never lose that level of personal service that our wonderful guests have come to love.
We are selective. And unapologetically so. We feature only houses we’d be genuinely excited about staying in ourselves. It’s not about numbers for us – we’re happy to keep our collection of properties small and beautiful if that means we can recommend each property with confidence and pride.

Olive House exceeded all our hopes….it catered for everyone in our party from the youngest to the eldest…fantastic facility. My nephew who is 9 years old commented that this had been the best week of his life….

A fabulous time at Great Oak Farm
We had a fabulous time at Great Oak Farm booked through Big House Experience. The house is huge, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a fantastic family time celebrating my 60th Birthday. Lovely touches (a welcome food basket, English Sparkling wine in the fridge, lovely toiletries in the bathrooms) combined with plenty of spaces for adults and children make this an exceptional rental home. The playroom, outside playground and the indoor pool were all thoroughly enjoyed by the grandchildren. And a massive thank you to Fern & Farrow catering who provided a sumptuous dinner and an outstanding Sunday feast.

Lovely family Cotswold break
We were a family of 15 from under 2 to 73 and we enjoyed this beautiful large Manor House with wonderful grounds. The sauna was great, and the kids loved the football pitch and tennis court. Too cold for a dip in the lake but we went in anyway after the sauna! Bedrooms and bathrooms were excellent and the water hot and plentiful. The local pub did the best Sunday roast I have ever had out.

Lulworth House…
Lulworth House is a fantastic location with stunning views! The house is exceptionally well appointed and stocked with everything you need for a great family time. Beautifully furnished but with "lived in" feeling which is very welcome, especially with small children. The pool and the garden were especially fantastic. We appreciated the smaller details - messages from the team before we arrived to be greeted by Heidi who had ensured essential supplies (including fresh flowers) were on hand. A first class experience in every way which didn't disappoint. Thank you.

First time using the Big House Experience for booking for yearly retreat for women. Home Farm through Big House Experience
We booked Home Farm through Big House Experience both the house and the experience of booking through Big House were exceptional.
They were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole process, they kept me well informed and all their literature was really useful. They were very quick in returning our breakages deposit too. Can definitely recommend and would look at using them again.

Churchside Manor was excellent
The place was amazing, Phil and his wife had done an amazing job renovating it! Really well kitted out inside and outside too! Plenty to do in the local area even with a toddler, Seascale beach was a nice day out and Muncaster castle well worth a visit! Liz and the team also really helpful to deal with throughout the whole booking process and after we’d checked out also! Would highly recommend to anyone!

Tyr Bryn Menai
We (18 of us aged 5-80) had the most amazing weekend in this beautiful house overlooking the Menai straits. The house was very well equipped with everything you might need, beautifully decorated with a thoughtful attention to detail.
The gym, the hot tubs and the games room were very popular with everyone and the grounds were also well used.
We had fantastic weather which just added to the experience. All of the family thought it was the “best weekend ever” The children all said they wanted to go every year!

Heathcote Manor - Stunning, well worth a stay
We stayed at Heathcote Manor to celebrate my 60th birthday, and it was truly wonderful. The house is beautifully presented, spacious, and very well equipped; everything you could need is there. The gardens and facilities are fantastic, offering plenty to enjoy during your stay.
We visited in late March, but I can imagine it would be even more special in the summer, making full use of the outdoor kitchen and stunning grounds.
I would highly recommend staying here.

Fabulous company and house!
From the initial enquiry to checking out of the property we received first class service. The house ‘Magpie Farm’ exceeded all of our expectations. We had 20 family members come together for 3 nights to celebrate a family birthday. Big house experience answered all of my queries promptly and nothing was too much trouble. Instructions were clear and it made organising such a large group much easier. The house was incredible so much land for family games, The pool was perfect as the children could play and the adults could supervise from the lounge watching through the large glass windows! Every bedroom and en-suite was immaculate. Thank you we made many happy family memories.
