We stayed at Mynach House for my 70th birthday celebration and the house was perfect for my event. The venue was clean and smart and as described on the website.

We used Winnie’s Catering for our meals and Steph was excellent.

We would stay again.

Stayed White Gable House in Exeter for a long weekend, 4 families in total. Great location near Exeter Centre & quay. Bags of room across the house and lodge, and use of cinema and gym and pool and hot tub made for lots of fun. Recommend visit to Darts Farm.

We had a throughly wonderful time at Brockhall . The house was beautiful & comfortable .The grounds just lovely to explore . The indoor swimming pool meant all the children went home like ‘prunes ‘ .
We are all looking to return .

Big House Experience is the way to go if you are looking for a reliable company to source and manage your big house get away. We recommend the stunning Limestone Grange in Derbyshire which sleeps 30. Big House Experience were super helpful at answering all our questions and being on hand to ensure our booking and overall experience went smoothly. They recommended brilliant caterers too. We would definitely recommend this company and this accommodation. Five stars!

I’m writing this review to share a genuinely disappointing experience with Big House Experience, and to help future customers make an informed decision.

I booked a holiday home for 12 people six months in advance for a specific weekend, based on the clear understanding that the booking carried a strict no-cancellation policy. Given that condition, I planned accordingly and coordinated travel for guests visiting from abroad.

Two months after confirming the reservation, I was informed that the property had been double-booked. I was asked if I could move to a different weekend, which unfortunately was not possible due to pre-arranged international travel and fixed plans. I was then offered the option to rebook later in the summer — but only at a significantly higher price. Although a 25% discount was mentioned, the revised rate was still roughly 50% higher than my original confirmed booking, meaning the initial agreement was effectively not honoured.

The most frustrating part of this experience is the imbalance of responsibility. Customers are expected to accept strict no-cancellation terms, yet when the provider cancels due to an internal error, the burden falls entirely on the customer — financially and logistically. With only four months left until the trip, comparable alternatives were no longer available at a similar price point, leaving me in a very difficult position.

I understand that mistakes can happen in hospitality, but how they are resolved matters. In this case, I did not feel that a fair or equivalent solution was offered. I would strongly encourage prospective guests to clarify what protections exist if a booking cannot be honoured by the company itself.

I stayed at The Mead Country House with 24 of my friends and family for my an amazing weekend for my birthday.
Big House Experience managed our entire stay and helped us to organise a fantastic weekend. Would definitely book with them again and have shared their details with friends looking to book similar events.
I found the Big House Experience website very detailed, especially the floor plans than helped to organise the event.
The property itself was incredible, that looks even better in real life than the photos. All the houses and bedrooms are stylish, and have everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
The house is large and has lots of space, for guests to relax, chill out and have fun. The kitchen has an amazing oven to cater for lots of guests and the dinning room is great for dinner parties. We hosted a party in the Cheese Room which had lots of space for dancing and games!
The pool, gym and sauna area are fantastic and kept the kids entertained all weekend. Kids can also access to Puxton Park which has lots of fun activities.

Easy process from start to finish, the house was amazing better than we expected.

We stayed at Tall Trees! It was fantastic. The team at Big House Experience were professional and easy to work with. They dealt with any questions in a timely manner. Communication was excellent. Looking forward to our next stay.

We had a fantastic family time at Green’s Hill House. The accommodation was ideal for a big family get together. As we went in January we knew we needed a big shared space and the spacious lounge was ideal. Everyone had a comfy place to sit and, even though there were 20 of us, we didn’t feel on top of each other. We had a special time celebrating a significant birthday.

I rented Rosebriar House for a long weekend for my birthday party and we all had the most fabulous time.
We were provided with ample information before the trip which made the process really simple. The house was beautiful and very well presented. Would recommend to anyone thinking about visiting.

Three hills farm really impressed and was perfect for a family get together and 40th birthday celebration. Booking was straightforward, comms were excellent, everything was effortless. Would recommend and will use them again!

We had a full house of people of all ages with us and the whole experience could t have been more lovely. From taking it in turns to cook delicious home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, swimming in the exquisite pool and steam room (like having our own spa), yoga sessions, table tennis, walking on cliffs with rainbows. Just perfect. Thank you to the team for the care and detail put into the experience.

The Big House team were nothing but helpful and responsive when organising my sisters hen. Every single question I asked, no matter how big or small, the team answered within a few days. They talked me through each step of the way and made a potentially stressful experience of organising the hen an absolute breeze. The house itself was incredible and was a real highlight of the hen.

Tregulland Cottage & Barn with Big House Experience: This is really a special place. We hired both the cottage and the barn for a joint Birthday weekend (21 folks). The owners have made the properties feel special but also like a home from home. The properties have everything you'll need and then some (down to a good pastry brush!). They ensured that all we needed to add were the people and food/drink. Some properties supply a little fire wood, here you get all the logs you will need, dishwasher tabs and beautiful soaps/shower gels etc. The large fridge/freezers, having 2 dishwashers and toasters per properties, all made staying a breeze. When you add in the fresh water pool and steam room this is 5* weekending. Easy to find, close to great walks and the Sunday lunch at the Rising Sun were lovely extras. A high quality property that we will gladly come back in the future.

Incredibly easy to deal with. Everything exceeded expectations! Wisteria House was excellent and we loved it for our family trip. Loads of space, well stocked with loads of things to do including an excellent pool!

I have stayed at this property a few times over the Summer and in the Winter and it never disappoints. It is the perfect location for relaxing, and is just a short walk to the local pubs and restaurants. The house is stunning, and waking up to the view of the lake is a an absolute highlight!

Friendly and helpful team, lovely property

We all loved the Olive House! Juliette really has thought of everything for everyone of all ages. The house not only has the WOW factor but is also so well equipped for all weathers. We couldn’t take full advantage of the outside but it didn’t matter at all. The caterers “Good for a party” and Ruth who baked a birthday cake were all fantastic too. So we are very happy we discovered The Big House Experience. We will be recommending to friends!
