I chose to support a local business expecting care, pride in workmanship, and accountability. What I received was very poor.

From the outset, the installation was not delivered to a professional standard. Cameras were left at incorrect angles with no proper calibration, and the overall system was not fully tested before being signed off. I had to identify issues myself and request a return visit, which should never be the case on a paid installation.

The external work was particularly concerning. Wiring was left exposed, including across outdoor areas where it is vulnerable to damage, with no protective conduit used. At the front of the house, unnecessary holes were made and an external box was installed that is visibly misaligned and not appropriate for the property. The finish looks rushed and careless.

Internally, the same lack of attention to detail continued. Equipment was initially left untidily, and finishing work such as silicone application was completed to a poor standard. These are basic expectations on any professional job.

Functionality was also not delivered as expected. Notifications were not coming through to my phone. Instead of resolving this properly, I was told this was due to software or Apple, despite the fact the system and products were recommended and supplied as part of the installation. This reflects a failure to take ownership of the solution provided.

I was then advised that running new wiring would resolve the issues and that this work would be reliable and under warranty. I agreed and paid again based on that assurance. Despite this, the system still does not perform as expected, which makes it clear the root issue was not properly diagnosed or resolved.

Despite all of the above, I was sent the full invoice as though the job had been completed to standard. That shows a clear disconnect between what was delivered and what was charged.

When these issues were raised, there was no accountability. Instead of acknowledging the gaps and resolving them, the response was defensive, with the position that the system had been delivered to a high standard. That does not reflect the reality of the work or the outcome.

I made multiple attempts to resolve this directly and professionally. That opportunity was not taken.

I will now need to bring in others to correct the work at additional cost and time.

I needed to have an alarm put on my family home and searched Checkatrade thoroughly. Having been through all the reviews for the top suppliers awarded over 9 out of 10, Bickley Fire & Security Specialists Ltd had by far the most positive and current reviews.

I completed my on-line enquiry late one evening and within an hour Alan called me back to discuss my requirements. During our conversation I was confidence Alan knew my requirements, offered me several solutions and even gave me an outline cost. The next day I received a written quotation which was very reasonable and met my needs fully. I agreed to proceed and was given a start date one week later.

Alan contacted me the date before to confirm he and a colleague would arrive at 9am and there were both there promptly.

The installation went very well with minimal disruption allowing me to continue with my day. I was kept up to date throughout the day and Alan explained the system to me detail and assissted me with installing the App on my mobile and getting that all up and running.

An additional sensor is being added to the system that I asked for which was no trouble at all and will be completed within 48 hours.

Overall communication, workmanship, timeliness and value for money has been brilliant meeting my needs.

An excellent service. Updating my old alarm system so it now works via WiFi and I can control it via the app. Alan was polite, efficient and very pleasant to have in our home.

Alan was the 5th and last attempt to get a small set of units intercom working - all the others either said the system needed to be replaced or were individuals who worked independently under an umbrella co who were a body shop with no experience

Bickley fitted an integrated burglary system for us in August 2024. I was very happy with Alan's personal approach and with the quality of work provided. They provided a basic modern system for us (with supporting app, provided training on the system, and clearly explained how we could extend the system at a later date. Alan even provided some basic advice on another electrical issue in our house, and offered to connect us with a reliable local electrician for support. We wanted to use a local provider and Bickley were perfect for this, I would definitely use them again.

Alan could not have been more helpful. We used BFSS at our central Bromley office, Contingent Works. All our coworkers are very happy that the fire panels have been replaced and we are all safely looked after.

Alan quoted for storm damage to our electric gates. We were immediately impressed by the thoroughness of his inspection of the damage and his proposed solutions which he discussed with us. His experience enabled him to give good advice to solve problems and suggest improvements and his quotation did not include items which did not need to be replaced, unlike other quotations we received. His quotation was competitive.

Alan worked very hard on the day of installation and completed the work within the day. He cleared up and left the site very tidy at the end of the day. Unfortunately, an electronic bolt newly purchased was faulty so Alan had to return to fit a week later. This time Alan had pre-tested the unit on his bench and the installation was successful.

We are extremely happy with the quality of the work done, Alan’s professionalism, courtesy and communication. We feel we have received excellent value for money.
