Originally was using a local accountants with good service. Azets bought out and it became hard work. Constantly getting CIS deductions wrong which caused me cashflow problems. All I got was an apology over the phone after I complained because I was receiving letters from HMRC. I had 30 days payment terms with original accountants. Azets expect payment day of invoice sent and will chase with aggressive overdue emails within 7 days. The attitude of Azets in my opinion is, “blame the client”. Very poor service!! - Adam Harrison.

Other than quarterly VAT, the rest of the service I received was poor. I was constantly having to chase them for simple advice and to get my annual accounts finalised, they “forgot” to file my self assessment returns for one year leading to fines from HMRC and whilst they paid the fines and interest, my own time in running my business was severely impacted. They also didn’t advise me to pay back my directors loan within the 9 months and then told me two days before payment was due to HMRC that I owed £12k in tax ! Attitude and organisation has steadily deteriorated since I joined them 10 years ago. Made me feel that they were not interested in anyone with a small business. They attempted to charge me double the price for my final year with nothing substantive to evidence why and no prior notification of fees involved which I have refused to pay. The final disengagement letter then gave a lower amount so I paid that one- even that was wrong. My complaint took them over 9 months to even remotely be handled to any standard and even then I have evidence of constantly chasing for responses. Needless to say I’ve left Azets and my new accountants had to chase them several times. Azets also said they had to wait 30 days if they didn’t get a signed disengagement letter from the client. I sent it back to them within 24 hours so my new accountants had to share a copy with them and then they finally released information. A catalogue of errors which has impacted on my own personal finances as well as a complete distraction from running my business. I would not recommend Azets

Overgrown uncommunicative

Laura has helped us with payroll for the past 2-3 years and is a great sounding board for all things payroll. She does tasks diligently and keeps us up to date on upcoming changes or anything that requires our attention.

I started out with a small local accountant and ended up with an empire called AZETS (Stupid name). Their aim is to maxamise profit for as little work as possible plus as little care as possible for their clients. What I did'nt expect was to be robbed . They took advantage of the change to small traders by HMRC to align to April for sole traders. Effectively charging for a year to cover 5 months. Well done AZETS Durham, you got me. I 'm back after 37 years with a local accountant and much happier. The reply is what you expect standard crap.

The local company that I originally instructed were bought out by Azets. Subsequently, I have felt like a very small fish in a very large pond. Advice that I was previously given has now been deemed as incorrect and is likely to cost me between £52,000 and £100,000 for which they are accepting no liability. This is now been an ongoing situation for Some 15 months. The communication over this period has been appalling. It has caused me enormous amount of stress which they do not seem to care about. I am still in an ongoing situation and cannot get email responses quickly, and by that I mean at least several days for an urgent email!

Vasim and his team have been outstanding over the years. Vasim himself has provided top-notch advisory services, both for our company and personal matters, while his team efficiently handles our company filings, tax submissions, and payroll. Their responsiveness and support have been invaluable.

That said, I recognize that every client’s experience will depend on the specific partner they work with (hence some of the poor reviews I can see), however this review is a reflection of the exceptional service we've received from Vasim and his team.

We have had an excellent, professional service provided by Simon Brown (Partner) and the team at Azets. We have worked with Azets for audit services in a remote-based environment which their systems support. The audit process itself was very smooth and the team were accessible by calls to discuss any items requiring review.

After 13 years with the company, I am astounded by their lack of ethics, care and inability to listen. There is nothing personal about this service any longer. They used to be a good firm with integrity. If you are small business, please avoid, as they could not care less. Their communication is unclear at best and deceiving the most.

After sending many, many emails to your company trying to work out a solution, this reply on Trustpilot, again confirms how little you care. It's a stock answer. Very disappointing.

My account with Azets must be one of their smallest but getting a quick response is less and less likely.
Compare that with the phrasing of the first email I opened in 2025, it was from Azets
'According to our records the invoice below remain outstanding on your account'
Actually this was Azets first presentation of the invoice.
In 2025 we need to be more friendly with each other AND we need to use the glorious language that we share, to generate a positive and genial ambience. A miserable first email of 2025.
