This was our second Avalon cruise. From the moment we set foot on the boat the staff treated us as if we were the most important people on the boat. We noticed that they treated everyone this way as well. The staff were so attentive and cheerful. The food was great and the daily side trips were also great. Our fellow passengers were really nice and we made friends with many of them.

Our cruise of the Douro River in October 2024 with Avalon Waterways was a very relaxing, enjoyable trip. The ship is new and was always clean. We would recommend Avalon for several reasons: the crew was very friendly and courteous; the food was delicious and there was a nice variety each day to choose from. We enjoyed the local entertainment too as well as the excursions that were available.

Our river cruise was excellent. It was easy to board. The ship was very nicely laid out and easy to get around. Our room was comfortable and we loved the floor-to-ceiling window and the sliding door.
The staff was excellent. The food was very tasty.
The excursions were fun and interesting.
My favorite parts were interactions with the other passengers and crew and the excursions, in particular going into Cologne.
We were spoiled in a good ways and look forward to to going on another Avalon cruise.

Avalon provides great destinations, quality ships and accommodations, excellent staff and service and good value for your $’s. This was our fifth cruise with them and we’re signed up for a sixth. The Rhine Christmas Market Cruise was on my wife’s bucket list and we enjoyed every minute of it!

The company took very good care of us despite the high waters and lack of cruising time. I have taken other river cruise lines and would definitely return only to Avalon.
The food was excellent, the tours were excellent.

Our Avalon River Cruise from Paris to Normandy was absolutely phenomenal! The scenery was breathtaking, with every port offering unique historical sites and charming towns. The onboard food was consistently delicious, and the excursions were expertly guided, providing fascinating insights into each location. The crew were incredibly attentive and made us feel truly welcome - we already planning our next river cruise with them

Our Cruise Director is what made this trip so great. He was friendly confident funny and very trustworthy!

My recent Avalon trip, my second, was wonderful. There are a lot of reasons.
My lifetime airline travel passed one million miles in the Fall of 2023. I say that to describe my AAmount of travel. Before my wife's memory troubles we did so many cruises (river and ocean) it would be hard to describe how many we did. This Avalon cruise (Basel to AMS) was one of the best. The other guests on this trip were wonderful. Interesting, friendly, informed etc. Great memories for me. The food was outstanding. The crew amazing. A short story: On my phone, at one point, I saw Remagen on the Rhine. I asked the front desk when we would pass it? She (I wish I remembered her (and others) name said let me check. She called the bridge. "They'll call your room 20 minutes before we get there" she said. It was 3 or 4 days later (!) when my phone rang in my room. "Remagen in 20 minutes".
Wow! (We gone up the Moselle for a couple days). Where do you get that kind of service?
My father-in-law, as his daughter said, "Got his purple heart at the Remagen Bridge". I texted her and my sons while we passed the bridge.
Great trip. Thanks Avalon. I'm 82 but I hope maybe next year to do another.

Everything was excellent. Crew amazing, food was exceptional and the vessel luxurious.

We loved our bucket list Christmas cruise down the Danube River. Rooms were beautiful & welcoming. Very quiet. The chosen excursions were so informative giving us knowledge about their country. The Budapest Christmas market was the BEST by far!
Dining on the boat was awesome & always given options.
The staff was exceptional!. Highly recommend AVALON

Beyond expectations! Our Egyptologist was fantastic. Felt safe everywhere. People were very friendly. Amazing culture and treasures…so much to take in on just a 10 day vacation. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

This was our fourth cruise with Avalon. We love the Avalon "product"...the superb food, service, stateroom accommodations, cleanliness, cheerful staff and excellent excursions. We've looked at the other river cruise companies and always end up selecting Avalon. You get what you pay for! RUN don't walk to schedule a river cruise with them.

The staffs attention to detail was above and beyond any expectations . ex Upon leaving our port on the shuttle to our airport which was quite a distance away which we new that it would be we were completely surprised when a Avalon representative was there to guide us thru the maze .

Was just ok

Have sailed before with you guys and this wasn't up to par
Boat was sick
Crew was exhausted, but tried very hard, felt bad for them
Cruise director was mediocre at best,
Probably worst part food was just average and some days poor
Some ports were almost no time at all, eay to short
And only had entertainment 2x nights

2nd cruise on Avalon, did not disappoint, staff, cabins, food, hospitality wonderful

Staff, food, were amazing! From the moment you drive to the boat, you know you're at home.

Nice accommodation's. I really don’t fine 5 star reviews so this rating is first class

Perfect trip

Avalon demonstrated the highest level of hospitality and operational management. With attention paid to the smallest details and of course to the most important ones like the itinerary. The crew under Tonny was effective and endlessly kind. We had a great time and will return back.
