Der Zustand der Ware war genau wie beschrieben und der Versand erfolgte schnell - alles top!
I am really happy with my print which I bought one month ago. It was shipped very fast and the communication after the purchase was also pretty good and professional. Would buy again at Auctionata.
The Cars offered at the Classic Car Auctions are very well pictured and mostly sound interesting by their conditions or History. The pictures only show the bright sides of the Car and never the weak spots. The descriptions are made either by Car Dealers who quite often try to sell their old stock here or by the current owner. Stories are just taken as right and basically are never double-checked. Be it Vin numbers or Provenance. Rust issues or previous acccidents are either not found or just not worth to find there way into descriptions. The Experts are no Experts and rarely have a clou what is a good car, nor what original, matching numbers, first paint, etc means. Auctionata´s estimated prices do not show realistic market prices. They are more to create fictively market values too fool the buyers.
I love this website. They had a no-reserve sale and I got a great deal on a German post-Impressionist painting! Very easy communication and shipping was ecellent!
After winning a bid for a watch on auctionata, I decided to pull up some reviews on this company (usually I do this BEFORE I work with a company online but for some reason this time I didn't). As you can imagine, after reading all the bad reviews, I was extremely nervous about how the rest of the transaction would pan out - would I receive my watch on time, would I receive my watch at all, would it be in the condition stated etc etc.
The communication with Auctionata was always timely, I received responses within 24 hours of emailing. This was across all departments - main contact, logistics and finance.
Finance - they gave me several options to make my payment and accommodate me as my purchase was over my card limit. Not only that but they even allowed me a grace period past the 10 days stated in their terms for making payment after the auction ends. Thank you for that!
Logistics - I was not aware beforehand that a certificate of origin was required to ship the watch to me. They told me it would take two weeks to get. It ended up taking only 5 days and before I could send another follow up email the watch was delivered to me.
The watch - described as in MINT condition - and it truly was. I have seen several ratings on their auction items rated as questionable 1's and 2's but their pictures are quite clear as to the real condition.
After reading the bad reviews I felt they should receive credit for when they do a good job as well and I can truly say that I am a happy client and will definitely do business with them again.
For those complaining about the fees etc etc, please, those conditions are quite clear if you take the trouble to read it.
Thank you Auctionata!!
I am the seller at Auctionata - I have already sold my old French clock in their auction and sent to their online store my three 19J paintings. First unpleasant surprise came when their auctioned my clock - it was sold ca 20% below the market value. The reason was that apart from the fee from the seller Auctionata charges a fee from the buyer, so the buyers include this fee in their bids so the seller gets the price minus their double fees. Auctionata does not communicate clearly this mechanism to sellers.
Second more frightening surprise came to me, when they sold one of my painting at the price of its frame. Initially they provided me with very low estimate (25% of the price I had paid 5 years ago) saying that when the painting arrives at their office, they would double check the value. Based on this, I signed contract. It took them 2 months to put the paining in the online store and I forgot about the issue with valuation. As a result their sold my painting very quickly and when I filed complaint, they simply answered that I signed the contract with such price and the contract stated that their experts might revalue the item when they examine it but were not obliged to do so. So basically due to their lack of expertise and professionalism I lost a lot of money.
I am a collector and dealer of Asian antiques. I was a floor bidder at one of Auctionata's recent auctions. I bid on one lot but was overbid by an internet bidder. Ten minutes later a member of Auctionata's staff came to me and asked if I am ready to buy the lot I was bidding on, since the winning bidder has withdrawn his bid. I could not figure out how the winning bidder managed to withdraw his bid within 10 minutes and why Auctionata would accept that, since bidding is supposed to be binding. I got a bad feeling and said I am not willing to buy the lot. The member of staff then offered me a discount of roughly 10% of the hammer price, excluding premium. I though became all the more suspicious the more keen Auctionata was on selling the lot to me. So I rejected the "offer".
For days I have been trying to explain what happened. And one day it occurred to me that maybe it was not a real bidder, but Auctionata itself that was bidding against me, in order to push up the hammer price. It might be just my "conspiracy theory", but I cannot figure out any other explanation as to why the winning bidder could be free to withdraw his lot.
While the convenience of live internet auction is undeniable and the auctionata technology works well, i have encountered enough problems to provide this negative review.
1. Auctionata claims to have "experts" testing and describing their watches. I don't know where they find these "experts" but I can definitively state that these people do not have a clue about watch evaluation.
My watch had one of the pushers bent and this was not a shipping problem. It was bent in the picture as well. However all Auctionata staff assured me that it's a picture problem and not a problem with the watch. Well they were wrong. The item was described as trouble free but not only was the pusher bent but the flyback function did not work as well. Again contrary to the description.
On top of that it was shipped in the wrong box (not original as described). Auctionata would not ship me the right box until i would ship the old one (at my cost).
I had to go through many emails, videos, pictures, letters from my watchmaker to prove to these people that the watch had problems. While i did get a partial refund, it still cost me more to fix it and the headaches and wasted time are definitely not worth it.
2. Auctionata fees are enormous. 20% buyer premium, plus shipping and insurance fees that are absolutely outrageous. Check and double check if you intend to bid.
3. Ipad Auctionata version DOES NOT ask you to confirm your bidding action. One wrong touch of the screen and congratulations, you have unintentionally purchased something you had no intention of bidding on.
I bought a old military watch late last year, 2015. it was not as described, Not all parts were original. Auctionata gave me Eur 50 back as compensation which I accepted at the time. Later I decided not to keep the watch asking Auctionata for their fees to re auction asking g them to take into consideration the history of the purchase. They did not. They offered no reserve, near 24% comms fee, + these additional terms -
If the watch is not sold in the auction, you can choose to:
1. have it back for a withdrawal fee of 4.76% of the estimate
2. auctioning on the next auction (you would need to contact us after the auction and let us know should you decide to go for this option)
3. have it available in our online shop for 10 days. The selling price on the shop would be the starting price + 40% (in your case 560 €).
If the watch is not sold after the 10-day aftersale period you have two options: either continuing offering the watch on our online shop or taking it back for the withdrawal fee of 4.76% of the estimate price + 2.38% of the estimate for monthly storage fees. If the watch is still not sold via the shop until the date specified in the contract (31.08.2015), the price will be gradually reduced. We would only then be entitled to accept all offers within 15 % of the estimate price. We would instead consult you should offers range below 15% of the estimated price. Please note that you can decide to withdraw the watch at any time after the first auction.
I learned my lesson with Auctionata. Do not trust their condition reports OR for Auctionata to do the right thing when they have got it wrong.
Rgds
