Ancestry provides an easy system to build a family tree in a way that you could never do in recent times. It's fast and comprehensive, and you can do so much from your desk without having to go out to research. I've heard people complain about the accuracy of some data, but that's not been my experience. Obviously Ancestry doesn't beat going out and actually researching, but it is a great tool to compile what you know. It is expensive, though, so maybe not for everyone.

Mes ancêtres côté paternel sont venus de France au Canada entre 1640 et 1650. Le site Ancestry remonte leurs ancêtres à diverses régions de France.
Mais, l'application DNA indique que mes ancêtres viennent du Québec, Canada.
Autrement dit, je n'apprends rien!
On croirait que la base de données pour le Québec et Canada ne communique pas avec la base de données pour l'Europe, la France.
Du côté maternel, mon arrière grand-mère vient d'Irlande vers 1840. Alors par elle, le test DNA présente beaucoup de détails sur les origines, et provinces d’Angleterre ou des îles britanniques.
Mais, je n'ai pas l'équivalent en détails pour les sources de DNA du côté paternel.
EN RÉSUMÉ, LE TEST DNA ME DIT QUE MES ORIGINES CANADIENNES ACTUELLES VIENNENT DU CANADA.

Nos mises à jour régionales sont conçues pour affiner continuellement nos communautés génétiques en mettant en avant des groupes de population distincts et des schémas de migration historiques – comme les premiers établissements français au Québec.
Comme ces régions reflètent les regroupements d’ADN partagés sur plusieurs générations, les mises à jour peuvent parfois souligner ces communautés historiques spécifiques aux côtés d’un patrimoine régional plus large, tel que la France.
Si vous souhaitez en savoir davantage sur la période à laquelle votre famille est arrivée au Canada, la recherche généalogique traditionnelle est la meilleure voie, en utilisant des documents tels que les recensements ou les listes de passagers, pour n’en citer que quelques exemples.
