My experience with KDP PUBLISHERS (AMZ Publishing Profs) was not only unsatisfactory but also highly frustrating. Despite the initial promises and an invoice with a specific price, they failed to fulfill their commitment after 6 months, claiming they undercharged me.
Multiple edits were needed despite providing detailed files, and I had to deal with 5 project managers. Communication deteriorated over time, with emails and calls being ignored for weeks. False reassurances were given, accompanied by screenshots, while my project remained unfulfilled. In the end, I only received a published paperback and Kindle version of my book, despite requesting a hardcover, a published board book, an author’s page, and printed copies of my manuscript.
The promised board book was initially possible with an additional purchase of an ISBN and barcode, but later they retracted that offer. Throughout the process, they assured me that I would receive printed copies after publication. However, when they informed me they couldn't publish my books as initially agreed, I requested the printed copies alone. Shockingly, they informed me that I would only be entitled to receive 5 copies out of the 50 I had requested. as of today, I still have not received the 5 printed copies that were promised to me.
It was initially stated that the printing process would take approximately 2 weeks. However, after waiting for a week, I decided to call for an update on the arrival of the books. To my dismay, I was informed that it would now take an additional 3 weeks, and I would only receive an update after that time period.
This discrepancy is unacceptable. This constant delay and lack of transparency regarding the status of my order only further exemplify the unprofessionalism and incompetence of KDP PUBLISHERS (AMZ Publishing Profs). Their failure to deliver on their promises and their continuous disregard for customer satisfaction is truly disheartening. When I asked for a refund, they ignored my request and had the audacity to offer additional services.
I strongly caution others against entrusting their publishing needs to KDP PUBLISHERS (AMZ Publishing Profs) or engaging with this company as they have proven themselves to be unreliable and untrustworthy in delivering the promised services.
If by chance the company’s name changes AGAIN, here are a few suggestions:
1. Make sure the publishing company offers a signed contract and invoice prior to your payment.
2. Never give personal information that makes you feel uncomfortable (I.e. passwords, social security numbers, etc.). Reputable companies won’t need that information.
3. Research and choose a reputable, well-established publishing company with quality, authentic reviews.
4. If the company doesn’t meet your expectations, get out early, and request a refund.
5. If you don’t have the money to afford that well-known company, WAIT until you do. Otherwise, you could end up paying with your time and additional resources in the end.
