Order item on 3 July 25 estimated delivery date 5 August 25. Received email on 5 August 25 from Amazon.ie stating they can't source item and was charged cancellation fee. They said cancellation fee will be refunded in 3 to 5 business days
Emailed Amazon.ie on a number of occasions, there was no reply and am still waiting to be reimbursed.
Vastly inferior to Amazon UK
Completely pointless, great on paper but awful in implementation. Smaller selection and more expensive than Amazon UK.
The whole point of the .ie was to circumvent import tax post brexit. Made two orders this week both, took payment and had an eta or same week delivery. One got lost and the second is delayed by 7 days and I can't cancel, only select return, despite it not being actually dispatched.
Customer support is just a matter of transferring you until you eventually end the chat.
So far since moving from UK to IE, I've had problems with 6 out of 8 orders and went back to using Amazon Germany as it's the least problematic. This is due to UK and ie sharing same support team...
Typically Irish, can't have anything nice due to laziness...

I am beyond frustrated with amazons so called customer service. I have been trying for weeks to access my account due to 2 step verify failing because I don’t have access to my old phone . After many failed attempts to talk to a real person on the phone I was fobbed off and told that they would transfer me UP to the relevant department who could help me change my number and that I’d receive an email to rectify this within 24-48 hours. Email arrived with apologies that there had been no need to transfer me to other departments and that supplied was a direct line to 2 step verification team to fix my problem. The number only brought me back to the same line of waiting as before to be told / even though he could read word for word what was said in email that he’d have to transfer me UP to someone else who would help.
Another email arrived telling me my 2 step verification had been disabled and that now I should have full access to my account. Well guess what folks… it’s the same sign in 2 step verification process as usual and I’m still locked out. Oh and added bonus… I can’t directly reply to any of the emails Amazon ‘customer service’ have sent me.
Absolutely appalling service so I’m now just going to delete and cancel everything. Also the contact number for Ireland on their website is not a real number so each time I’ve had to ring their tolled uk number with at least 30 mins each call.
Unreliable
Unreliable. Most common issue I've encountered is delivery dates. Very inconsistent - half my orders have not arrived on the delivery estimate dates, despite the trackers showing "out for delivery". I'm paying prime membership and this is just unacceptable. I'll be going back to my UK account
Amazon.ie….is this an Irish joke?
Been an Amazon customer for a long time and while I mainly used the UK site, I’ve ordered from the German, French and Spanish sites too, all without issue. After some thought, I decided to join the Irish site to save money on my prime subscription but that was a mistake, a big mistake. The variety of products on the Irish site is pathetically poor, to the point of being a joke. Delivery times can be slower than when I used to order from the UK site and for the first time ever, I’ve had orders cancelled by sellers as items are “out of stock”, which never happened on any of the other Amazon sites. Amazon.ie is an absolute joke, and I’ll probably switch back to the UK site soon.

After a 1 star review a few months ago that I left i have to admit my last delivery was 5 stars, from time i ordered to it being delivered was 3.5 days, not 4 weeks like the last time so I have to give credit where credits due this time

Not a patch on the German or UK iterations of Amazon. Poorer choice and extended lead times. Used it for three months. Used UK since its inception. Needs to change or will die.

Paid prime again thinking id get my item delivered. But I was wrong. Again. Never using Amazon again. Just got an e bike so I will go to real stores and spend money on deliveries from real stores with really people that actually work and don't lie.

The (.ie) version is more expensive and takes almost 3x longer to get products delivered. Use the other options instead.
REFUNDS!!
I have been chasing for a refund for a month now! Twice I have been on to customer service chat option and had the matter escalated to an extremely rude representative to just cut me off without answering my question.
I know that they have received the item back and have confirmation of this.
Can someone explain to me why we pay immediately for items but refunds take at least 5-7 days to appear in a bank account? That is once you have gone through the stress of contacting and dealing with customer service! It doesn't make sense......................
I got the same person twice in customer service who denied that it wasn't them I spoke to the 1st time - he/she had told me the first time round that he had dealt with the refund and it would be in my bank account within 3-5 working days. Someone is lying somewhere!
This sort of issue needs to be highlighted with someone and if I have not received my refund within the 5-7 business days from the 25th July I willbe seeking legal action!
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
Ordered runners...got an email to say dispatched...then an email to say package probably lost...no way of contacting @amazon.ie...online tracking and refund system just goes round in circles with no outcome.. extremely aggitating and annoying. EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE..almost like getting 2 fingers from Bezo...Really wanted the runners for travelling this week

If it were possible to give less than one star they would have it, I ordered 4 items first week July each item arrived separately and very late today it the 24th July and still waiting for last item. Amazon Ireland can not possibly succeed if this is how their business is going to run. I have used Amazon several times previously and always received items within a few days this is bad for Amazon name.

I have been dealing Amazon for over 20 years as a prime member and have had a few hiccups along the way…I think their service is great and really fast…returns are easy (but need a QR code )
Amazon overcharge by 300%
Never had this type of trouble before. Tried to order three ladies polo shirts. When I went to the basket, I was asked if I wanted to trial PRIME. I said no. But when I went back to basket, the order had gone from under €30 euros, to over €300. When I spoke to a probable human (doubtful) they asked me to send a screen shot of the problem but after sending the e-mail, the same supposed customer service person started repeating questions they had already asked me and asked me to send the e-mail again. So I stopped the chat as at this point I wondered if I was being scammed.
Amazon lied to me 3 times regarding the delivery of my item
An item I ordered through Amazon was not delivered on the day that it was supposed to, 11 July 2025. Upon contacting their customer care I was told that they are very sorry and that it would be delivered by the 18 July 2025 by Jenet. Nothing had been changed on the app and so I contacted them again on the 16th to confirm that it was still going to be delivered on the 18th. Again this was confirmed by the chat consultant, Farhan. To make extra sure I confirmed the delivery of the item this morning, 18 July 2025. Delivery was again confirmed and that it would be here without fail! I still have not received the product and after a pointless argument with someone at the call centre I have been informed that the item will only be delivered at the end of August! Myself and my wife have had to stay home the whole day waiting for the delivery as it needed to be signed for on both “delivery days”. The service has been absolutely terrible and there has been nothing except for insincere apologies. Furthermore, I can’t even escalate this to someone else as I cannot find an email or phone number for anyone at Amazon Ireland.
Amazon has gotten worse
Have been a longstanding customer of Amazon Prime but things changed. Products arriving damaged or not at all. Recently bought a tent on primeday sale - never arrived, still no refund and as upcoming camping trip, I actually had to buy it again at higher price even though still no refund from first one and this one still not here either!!! I will be closing my account as they seem to be getting lax with the loss of competition. Very disappointing..

It is way slower than the UK domain that used to ship to Ireland. I thought the whole point is that it would be faster.
Avoid Amazon Ireland
3 orders were delivered late including a self cleaning litter tray that leaks and they can’t send a replacement only offered return then refund then I could order new one so would have been left with the tray for weeks. Paid €340 for the tray! Also ordered a robot vacuum which arrived late and with the wrong plug!
