After being a customer for so long, I am so disappointed with how they treat older customers. I also hate companies who renew your membership without any warning as it’s unethical. I see this has happened to many people and unfortunately this is common. As a big company, you’d expect more from them. Don’t waste your money, it’s not that great anyways!

I had a recent experience with the otherwise fantastic Alo Moves company that left a really bad taste in my mouth. Almost two years after not renewing an annual membership I had with them, my Canadian bank account was mysteriously debited over $300 by the yoga brand. After a bit of research, I confirmed that yes, my membership had indeed been cancelled, found a toll-free number and called their help desk. I was told by a lovely but ultimately disappointing CSR, Gerald, that there was nothing he/Alo could do but rather I had to take this up with my bank (and no, he would not allow me to speak to his supervisor…). Having been down this frustrating road before with other online vendors, I iwrote an honest review sharing my experience on both Trust Pilot as well as Apple’s App store - which was rife with similar 1 star reviews sharing the same experience. (Buyer beware!) I then followed the review process up with an email to Alo sharing my story.

Well I’m happy to report that a mere 25 hours later, Alo’s wrong has been ALMOST righted (they credited me $289 of the $310 they took from me…) so I am doing the right thing and changing my negative review to reflect not just the improvement but also their speedy response and efforts. While the end result is not 100% in my favour, it is 95% so in the spirit of Alo, I’m going to let it go and take the Zen road.

Alo/Brianna, you’ve done the right thing and I’m grateful. People DO have the power!

Attention Warning! Je viens d'être prélevé de plus de 220 euros à mon tour alors que j'ai résilié ma souscription. il ne renvoie pas de message avant la date anniversaire et utilise comme paiement la carte bleu renseignée à l'inscription. En outre la somme prélevée (abonnement de 199US$+ 39US$ VAT Taxes) n'a rien à voir avec celle mentionnée sur le site dans la FAQ "The price for an annual subscription is $129.99 USD." Tarif et pratiques complètement mensongers. Ils peuvent en gros prélever n'importe quelle somme c'est complètement illégale et le service client ne répond pas aux messages.

Ne téléchargez pas leur app !! Ce sont des voleurs !! Ils viennent de se servir avec ma propre carte pour payer près de 450€ !!! Cela fait des années que j’en ai annulé mon abonnement! Et personne ne vous répond lorsque vous les contactez !!

Don't download their app!! They are thieves !! They just used my own card to pay almost €450!!! It’s been years since I canceled my subscription! And no one answers you when you contact them!!

I cancelled my subscription more than a year ago. Suddenly, on Black Friday this year, I get a notification that I was charged for another year's subscription. This is ridiculous. It's not like a subscription renewal. It's a brand new subscription after a whole year of inaction! I emailed customer support and, of course, no answer. I literally cannot afford what they charged me. Unbelievable.

AVOID ALO MOVES! DO NOT SIGN UP TO A SUBSCRIPTION. Scam artists, fraudulently taking money from my account for 2 months in a row, despite being provided with the require notice to cancel my free trial 3 months ago. Each time I raised the issue with them, I have received zero response. I will now be contacting my bank to report fraudulent activity and be seeking legal advice.

Honestly the worst sizing item I have ever bought. Massive!!!! The Large is xxxxxxxL in European standards… Over priced crap. And worst thing… international purchases cannot be returned. I just threw mine in the rubbish bin. Never again.

Can’t delete my account, when a website gives you zero options to delete your account you know something isn’t quite right..

I love some instructors and classes.

But, the app crashes frequently it’s insane as hell.

After my first year subscription discounted, they renewed automatically whilst the setting never indicated when/how much.. I promise I asked their customer service 5 times but I got no answer on when it’s renewal date and how much. In the first year they didnt charge vat but in the second year they charged including tax without a notice.
The general customer service and communication was too poor.

Even navigating how to cancel is not simple.

It’s just an app ready to take your money without returning any notice or communication.

Bye alo, i’ll move to glo!

What other customers say it’s inaccurate. They refunded my purchase after I mistakenly forgot to cancel the yearly subscription.

I've been with Alo Moves before they bought out Cody. My annual subscription was $99 without warning it went up to $199 by automatic renewal. I prefer the older teachers the newer ones are really annoying advertising Alo products mid class. Time to find another app.

I signed up for the 2 week free trial and then they automatically removed $149 for the annual membership without a WORD of waning. I just received a recipet. I didn't use it that much - I think this is super sneaky. I'm really upset.

Same as other people, they have charged me but I do not have a membership. They never got back to me, i dont know how to stop them taking money.

I can't reach customer service. I tried 3 times already. I canceled my subscription but they still invoiced me. The only thing from their side is total silence ... very frustrating. Phone lines don't even go to a ring.

Horrible, horrible experience. Customer support simply won’t respond over email or phone. They just charge you for the entire year with no message or communication about the subscription - but will be sure to bombard you with all kinds of promotional content. I recently bought some clothes as well and the quality is POOR compared to Lulu or even sweaty betty (while being 1.2-1.5x the price). Clearly they’re just a bunch of scammers with no care for their customers but only the influencers that promote their crap on instagram. Never purchasing anything from them - neither their digital services nor their pathetic, overpriced clothes. AVOID!

Cancellation of the digital subscription is extremely poor and the subsequent customer service is practically non responsive!! Due to circumstances I never used the last year’s annual subscription and this year, before I delete the app, I ensured that I cancel my annual subscription. A charge appeared in December and I have been trying to get hold of the support team for almost 1m - no response whatsoever!! I loved the retail brand, and found the online service ok, but I didn’t expect this extremely poor customer service handling… DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!

I've cancelled but they keep trying to charge me. No response from support despite multiple requests. Just bad practice.

I have zero respect for companies who do not give customers a heads up before an annual subscription renews.
I literally see ads daily for 50% off annual membership, but I, a loyal customer of nearly two years am charged full price without any notice 3 days before Christmas. It's just shady business practice, send an email 2 weeks before it's due so people can prepare. And offer existing customers the same deal.

I personally love this app. A wide variety of workouts to suit every level, intensity and time frame. The instructors are generally very good and the quality of workouts great. The meditation and all the well-being elements are also great. I do find it a bit expensive. But also recognize it’s a lot cheaper than a gym and there’s hundreds of new videos every month.
I do think that they need to improve the filtering options (hands free, or wrist friendly workout, or postpartum recovery etc) but I expect that will come in time as they continue to improve the app.

I’m so disappointed with Alo Moves. I have been charged incorrectly for my annual subscription and no-one has responded to my emails or messages.
They’re a big money making machine who don’t care about their dedicated subscribers.
