ALLBIDS works well. It’s sort like an online garage sale. You never know what you’ll find. The process works well and the staff in Fyshwick are so pleasant, professional and helpful
Second vehicle I have purchased, the bidding process is easy to understand and payment process was also seamless. Staff are always helpful
I was a long term customer of AllBids/CarBids. I bought 18 cars over an 8 year period, until now. I have been banned. Why?
I bid and won a vehicle with a slipping transmission, the description was cryptic and mentioned nothing about the transmission slipping. I questioned Eric about his cryptic description of the test drive and when pressed he admitted the transmission was slipping. I asked him why he didn't just say that in the listing to which he said "I'm not a mechanic". He does however say when a clutch slips or a battery is flat or there is suspension noise. Not being a mechanic is a convenient way of misrepresenting a vehicle. I refused to pay for the vehicle so I've been banned.
They did however fully refund my deposit, that in itself is almost an admission of fault because Fair Trading or the ACCC would have seen it the same way. They take a dim view on car auction houses misrepresenting major mechanical faults.
They also omitted mentioning a major clutch fault on a vehicle I bought last year, a $3,600 cost that I sucked up. A fault that could be clearly recognised by anyone with some car knowledge.
I feel it's important that transmission/gearbox/clutch issues should be mentioned clearly and adequately because us buyers can't test drive the cars, so we rely on accurate descriptions.
Carbids used to be very good at their descriptions until recently. I used to sing their praises, not any more.

Service is great when making payment.
However, I think some bidders are going a bit too high on some items.
All good. No surprises. Transaction due times, pick up before times all reasonable. No complaints!!!!!
After making a complain I recived a phone call from the manager PETER he wnows the amount of time an conversations about several mistakes in the report he ask me to send a invoice for the amount of cost a supply and copy a new key $1300 they offer me 300 0 400$ I dont beleive that is near enough, not only in the information said the car performs ok difficult when is in limp mode a broken windscreen ok that could be in transit but is a lot of extra money In the report didnt exist be aware they are NOT interested in maintain a good customer support is how mucha money they can make one bad report with total evidences thanks a not longer interested to recive any new from them.
Consigned a significant model car collection with Allbids. The items were held for months without any communication and some six months later there are still items remaining to be sold. These timelines may be standard, however with no communication whatsoever, it's impossible to know.
One item was randomly sold outside of model car specific sales and miscategorised. Despite following up and pointing out the mistake, I received no response and the item sold for 30% of its value. My follow up communication has not been answered.
I have requested my options to collect the remainder of my items but have received no response.
For those that have sold, while higher value items performed ok, many items sold for very low values. I would recommend anyone in a similar position use a specialised auction house with a significant model car audience available or ebay.
The staff member I dealt with was extremely rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. He yelled at me, showed a terrible attitude, and acted in a selfish, ill-mannered way. This behaviour is unacceptable and shows an urgent need for proper customer-service training and possibly a change of staff. Customers deserve far better. Recruit someone who knows about cars not an idiot

I used ALLBIDS CANBERRA to buy a 2nd hand ute at Auction. My first time using them and their online auction system. For a DIY business model, I found their systems, and service efficient and clean. I inspected the vehicle, and staff explained the bidding system in five minutes. It is simple and fair. The after purchase processing didn't work online, however I went into their office and within 30 minutes the payment was processed and I drove out. I knew what my top bid would be, and I just sat through the process, being careful and patient. You must do your homework on the purchase, and the market. All the information you need is provided. I trusted my own research more than relying on a salesperson. If you can do that, then this is worth considering. I got a car that will do the job, saved thousands, and would use Allbids Canberra again.
The purchase went smooth, staff sre always friendly
Gave them a $10,000 table to sell on auction. No promotion, no advertising no following up. Sold for $10… At this point glad the tables gone, horrendous effort put in however. Would never recommend this site for anyone..
Adam is very knowledgeable in sorting out what will and won't sell when clearing out a deceased estate. Allbids couldn't have been more helpful including regular updated reporting on sales results.
Took my car in for sale in Canberra after discussing with them via email (with photo's). Car was clean and tidy when dropped off - however when the photo's on their auction site were published - after prep - the car looked a million dollars. Easily agreed a reserve with Carbids (most auction houses incentivise you to have NO Reserve -and charge you lower commission if you take the big risk of no reserve). Allbids is different - they do NOT charge the vendor a commission so my total cost for a $31,000 sale was $275 (preparation fee). The auction went well, achieving 20% above reserve, and payment was prompt. Ben was a delight to deal with, and I could not recommend them more highly. Their approach to try and give each car a 'narrative' I think is a key to successfully selling. I intend to give them another car to sell next week.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ALLBIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 16 year old daughter that was so excited about her first car and has nothing now and lost $120 of her hard earned money (Permit and petrol) that we are trying to get reimbursed by AllBids.
We bought a car, stated in description: "It runs and drives well". Drive form Allbids to Costco petrol station, 15 min?!? EPC light and engine light turned on. After testing there was a misfire showing up. 100% false advertising. Called 2 mechanics, fix cost $3000 - $5000.
The lack of professionalism and customer service demonstrated by AllBids is very concerning and disappointing. After emailing Ben and other AllBids members and trying to call and leave messages to get a phone call back, I have received NO responds at all. AllBids and Ben you should be ashamed of yourself.
Also the attitude and no customer service skills of the receptionist was an experience I hope I will never receive again.
