I insured my first puppy with petinsure.ie last year great people to deal with and i got the policy that was suitable for milo and me i just got another dog daisey and i got her insured with petinsure.ie there very friendly staff did a policy for me for daisey i do reccomend petinsure.ie for your pets and for your peace and mind

Our puppy needs an operation on his leg, the vets face said it all when they asked who our pet insurance was with , the vet did warn us.
How true the vet was stay away from this company they have more excuses to get out of paying a out on a policy.

When our Bruno was in pain we brought him to the vet, who referred him to a specialist. Bruno was c t scanned and an operation was performed. We contacted petinsure who contacted the specialist and three weeks later everything is settled. They were professional but showed a real interest in Bruno’s recovery and long term care.not your typical insurance company.I would recommend petinsure to all my friends not only for their quick handling of the claim but their concern for our boy,their friendly approachable professional manner. Bruno is doing great now, when he was sick the last thing you need is to be worried about is money. Petinsure took all the worry away and allowed us time to look after Bruno. Petinsure are what most insurance companies should be.

We’ve been with PetInsure since 2013…
We’ve been with PetInsure since 2013 with one dog and then 2015 with two and sadly have had to make a few claims.
The claim was done through our vet (Cara Vet) and they’ve both made it pretty simple. It’s safe to say we literally did nothing other than confirm and sign.
The vet wasn’t sure if they’d cover a few particular parts of the claim but they did and they’ve been quick to pay out to the vet on a claim which is also very important.
As with a review below, we were also surprised that when they’re over a particular age, the claim is a maximum of 65% but it sounded familiar and it was 2013 when we joined so it’s easily forgotten when your dog is just a puppy.
We’ve made a recent claim after a tumour had been removed and I searched for PetInsure on here as I felt they’ve been great and wanted to rate them in some form or another.

So I thought I'd make this information…
So I thought I'd make this information available to you as without your cover goodness knows what would of been instore.
So ill start from the beginning thats always a good place to start.
So Harvey Joined out Family in November 2021 a healthy happy hyper puppy.
After a few months I discovered Harvey just wasn't right hardly eating and pacing the floors. I had gone on holiday to disneyland and left Harvey with my sister. During our stay Harvey deteroiated and My sister couldn't figure out why or what was wrong. She told me she would take him to the vet to see was there anything up or was it just because he had been placed in a different environment to Normal.
The Vet visit didn't go as planned the Vet ran some tests at 6 month old Harvey was weighing in at a tiny 1.1kg so he was concerned Harvey started to pace the floors and head press whilst with the vet he then did some blood tests. To Discover Harvey was suffering from a suspected Portosystemic.
WHAT IN GODS NAME IS THAT WE ASK.
Well Basically it's a valve that is bypassing the liver and sending toxins into Harvey's blood stream instead of being filtered out causing neurological problems.
Harvey was kept over night while waiting for UCD Veterinary Hospital to get back with a space for him.
The following day I returned home from Disneyland. Harvey was brought to UCD by myself. Where they ran some further Tests To confirm what it is we were dealing with.
2 days roll on and It's confirmed Harvey is suffering quiet badly from this condition.
Harvey is set up on antibiotics to control the toxin levels and allowed home . Surgery would be scheduled for 6 weeks time.
Harvey After a couple of days deteroiated again unable to pass urine desperately trying but couldn't. I called UCD and they said he gad to come back straight away. So Harvey and I made the 1hour 45min trip.
The took Harvey and Confirmed Harvey's liver had produced stones which blocked his Urine Flow. He had to have a catheter inserted to relieve him.
24 hours passed and Harvey again deteroiated. UCD said Harvey didn't have 6 weeks to live with this condition. So emergency surgery was scheduled For the following Day.
Harvey was an extremely high risk case as his condition and state and his weight were extremely poorly the surgeon called me to go through what the dreded possibilities were but it was either take the risk and hope or put Harvey to sleep.
So we decided to go ahead with the risk as scary and emotional as it was..
Surgery day I don't think I have a nail left waiting and waiting for the call. So 5.30 comes and the call comes in that Harvey surprisingly made it through his surgery. Well to say I cried like a child is an understatement.
Harvey stayed at UCD for the best part of a week and I was allowed to collect him the following week. Harvey came home literally Stapled back together from his throat right down had been cut open. I attached the pictures for you. He was sent home on a 6 welk course of Antibiotics to my sister who could offer him one to one care as I have 2 small children I was nervous. So my sister tool him under her wing.
Fast Forward...... 2 weeks on Harvey is weighing in at 2.3 kg Wow he's got a fine belly on him and staples were removed which were very painful for him.
Fast Forward week 6 .... I have also attached photos he is now 3.5 kg full of life able to do 360 flips around the bed and loves to Rob socks and highlighters and store them in his bed. He also doesn't like early mornings but when he's ready to go you'll know about it..
I want to thank everyone at Pet insure this was an easy process for me and I was bombarded with extra documents theres no messing around with this company.. Our Harvey went from very sleepy to hardly eating quiet fast and now he's this bright full of life little spoilt personality we all love. Without Pet insure this wouldn't of been possible for us or Harvey and we are Forever in your Debt.

Bit of a mix up but resolved
The online service was very good...I signed up my pet and I received an email saying my pet was insured and my documents were attached..
A couple of days later though I received a follow up call from a lovely man asking was I ready to sign up....told him I thought I was insured etc and once he checked my quote he informed me I was insured...
That was a little frustrating for me but I'm happy my pet is covered

Claim paid with no issue… But….
Claim paid with no issues.
However I’m not sure how relevant my one year old dogs medical history is before paying out. In the terms it states you must have annual checkups / boosters and vaccines etc. I got them all done. However my dog needed to have an emergency appointment for eating chocolate. Prior to paying out claim they asked for all this information and proof. My question is why are his boosters and vaccinations relevant to this claim? (I’d understand if with a different type of claim negligence here causes an issue but this was irrelevant to my claim)….Seems like a way of trying to escape from payouts if people don’t read the small print to me…..
