⭐ 1/5
⭐ 1/5 — Terrible customer service and a 20% cancellation fee on an order that never even shipped.
I strongly recommend avoiding Adept Powersports.
I placed an order because the website indicated a timeframe of approximately 2–3 days. After placing the order, I found out that they were not even planning to SHIP the part until four days later. With the weekend immediately following, the actual delivery would have taken considerably longer than I expected when placing the order.
Because I needed the part sooner, I contacted them BEFORE the order was shipped and asked to cancel it.
They charged me a 20% cancellation/restocking fee anyway — even though the part had never been shipped to me.
What made the experience even worse was the customer service. Instead of professionally explaining the situation or trying to resolve it, their responses were rude, condescending, and unnecessarily confrontational.
So I lost 20% of my money simply for canceling an unshipped order after discovering that the actual shipping timeline did not meet my expectations based on the information shown when I ordered.
Before buying anything from this company, I strongly recommend reading their Google, Trustpilot, and BBB reviews. I wish I had done that before ordering.
This was my first and definitely my last purchase from Adept Powersports. There are plenty of other OEM parts sellers. I would rather pay more somewhere else than deal with this kind of cancellation policy and customer service again.
Wrong shaft
Ordered a motorcycle shaft, got a different kind. Charged
My account next day, no parts for ten days canceled my order.
He said he 20% restocking fee, told him it had never been out of stock cause he had never sent it. I complained so he then said would make all my emails go to a spam and not read.
He then sent the shaft and promptly block my email.
I can’t sent the part back cause I’ve been block, contrary to his policy.
Read old post, not from their web site but when in business before.
Had I seen those instead of the others, would not have ordered.
However, there is a tremendously bright side to this and it is that every tub will eventually sit on its own bottom.
I will simply post this email below and…
I will simply post this email below and let the company speak for itself. Below is a complete cut & paste of the e-mail reply I received from Adept Powersports "customer service" . Their website had shown me incorrect inventory & shipping day numbers (apparently), but then they wanted to charge me a "restocking fee" when I simply asked to cancel my order. I ordered @10:12am CST on a Friday, and requested the order be cancelled @ 10:01am Monday, once the online order status made clear the actual facts:
"We don't mind losing a customer who orders $11 worth of items, then wastes $20 of our time to cancel it
Maybe instead of spending time writing up a paragraph, you should just read the policy we sent to you (the link in the previous email), as it answers all your questions.
The reason the time you see on the website is 2-3 business days and the order is longer is because all 3 were not available in a local (to us) warehouse (only 1 was), so we had to source these parts for you from 2 different Kawasaki warehouses. So not only did you waste our time, your order for $11 on which we may make $1 profit, and Kawasaki another $0.50 has now cause a chain reaction of everyone losing money and time. Imagine, Kawasaki now has to make 2 shipments, which costs them way over $0.50 or a $1 from 2 different warehouses to us. Of course you don't think of it like that, because you think you are special and deserve to be treated some special way, while everyon jumps through hoops to satisfy you.
So we'll refund your entire order - you are right, it's not worth the $2 we will recover to deal with this mess (now we have to ship it back to Kawasaki becasuse this is not an item we normally would stock), but ONLY if you promise to never order from us again. That's the deal."
My intelligence was insulted
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Adept Powersports’ customer service. I reached out for assistance after receiving parts that did not fit my motorcycle, simply trying to understand whether I had made an error or if there was a discrepancy in the parts. Simple.
Instead of receiving constructive help, the responses were defensive, dismissive, and at times openly rude. Rather than working collaboratively to resolve the issue, I was repeatedly talked down to and told, in essence, that the mistake was mine without any effort to guide me through a solution in a professional manner.
The situation escalated unnecessarily when I expressed concern about the tone of communication. I was then informed that my email had been blocked and that I was no longer allowed to order from their website. This was surprising and unprofessional, especially given that I was simply attempting to resolve a straightforward parts question.
To be clear, I had no issue returning the parts if they were incorrect. My concern was the lack of basic customer service and the manner in which communication was handled. Customers should be able to ask questions and receive respectful, solution-oriented support.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. I would advise others to proceed with caution, particularly if you anticipate needing any post-purchase support.
The issue wasn’t the canceled my order
The issue wasn’t the canceled my order. It was how they handled it.
They admitted they canceled my order because of an internal miscommunication and never notified me. I only found out after following up weeks later.
When I asked if there was anything they could do since the delay had affected me, they replied by saying they “prefer” I shop elsewhere and even wrote, “We aren’t your buddy or your wife.”
I’ve never experienced customer service like that from an online retailer.
There are plenty of businesses that sell Honda OEM parts. I’d recommend choosing one that values professionalism.
Fragile Customers Service Rep
Ordered a Yamaha part and asked if there was any way to expedite shipping because my birthday was coming up and I was hoping to get some riding in. Instead of simply saying expedited shipping wasn't available, Adept Powersports canceled my order and turned a basic customer service question into an argument.
I won’t lie and say I didn’t get pissed because they made the decision to cancel the order for no reason. Instead of saying no we don’t offer that.
I completely understand when shipping can't be sped up. That's not the issue. The issue is how they chose to handle a paying customer asking a straightforward question.
Rather than responding professionally, they sent unprofessional emails and made personal remarks after canceling the order. I've been told "no" by plenty of businesses before. This is the first one that managed to turn a simple shipping inquiry into a confrontation.
If this is how they treat customers before an order is even completed, I'd be concerned about how they handle actual problems. Save yourself the headache and spend your money elsewhere.
Customer service is very poor
Customer service is very poor, would not recommend buying anything from them, they are slow in shipping, and for a 12 dollar item, for return pay shipping and 20% stocking fee for a item as big as a nickel, they need to go out if business since not business mindedl
Unprofessional Customer Service
Ordered an OEM part online on 04/18. I didn't notice the 4-6 day shipping delay. I sent them a message that said if it didn't ship on 04/22 then cancel my order. I got a rude email response, so I filed a dispute on PayPal. I got a couple more rude emails from them, but PayPal has refunded my money. My mistake not noticing the shipping lead time, but no reason to get rude about the situation.
If I could leave 0 starts I would
If I could leave 0 starts I would. I accidently ordered the wrong part. After hours of trying to call I started an email string, The person on the other end never identified themselves but this was the rudest most condescending conversation I have ever had with a company. I would rather pay more than deal with these people. BAD BAD And just BAD
The parts could not be delivered…
The parts could not be delivered on-time, so I canceled the order. Though I never received the parts, I am being charged a 20% "restocking fee". That's $100 on a $500 order.
Slow shipping Ruud customer service won’t answer phones 20% restocking fees
Ordered triumph farts that the website indicated were in stock and ready to ship. Shipping kept getting delayed, obviously parked for non-in stock. Tried to call multiple times they do not answer the phone.. emailed and requested my order be canceled due to the delay delays. They canceled my order immediately, but charged to 20% restocking fee for “special order parts“ When I question the restocking fee for in stock parts I received a very rude response. There are many other options out there I would stay away from this company.
Unnecessarily rude
Man, I don't know who is running the "customer service" department but the need to get help. So rude for no reason. When I replied that I actually made a mistake, I get an even RUDER reply.
Even if they have every part I need, I'll never go back.
ZERO STARS would be too many
Zero stars should be allowed for the most immature, rudest, arrogant, useless, potato, whom has zero business dealing with customers needs for parts. Makes my appreciation for Partzilla so much stronger.
I ordered a speedometer for my Yamaha…
I ordered a speedometer for my Yamaha tw200 for $202.76 this is 45 dollars cheaper than going to the dealers BUT I saw all the bad reviews and started to panic. I called the customer service number and the woman was kind of plane not friendly but she canceled my order fast then I sent an email and they responded within a few hours I do see the charge on my card and a original payment method credited back. I was impressed. the problem is 2 things I need more done on my motorcycle then just a speedometer and I don't have to funds to continue at this time the other is all the negative reviews scared me as well
Definitely the worst customer service…
Definitely the worst customer service ever talking down on you, cussing and just out right rude. Parts change shipping dates after order then they charge a ridiculous “restocking fee” when you cancel because they are drop shipping and don’t actually have the parts to begin with yet sell stuff like they have inventory. What ever you do do not deal with these ppl.
Poor customer experience
I ordered a part and found out after ordering that it was going to take the company 5 days to process my order in house. I replied to the company's email because I couldn't get ahold of anyone on their call line and got back the following.
"Our website clearly showed availability before you placed the order, right on the website, publicly. Sorry you didn't realize or read that both on the product page and then again on the shopping cart summary page before you clicked "Place Order"
It's "Ships within 3 to 4 business days" right there.
If you would like to cancel this order now, please note: there is a 20% restocking / cancellation fee on all special order OEM parts"
I hope this business fails due to the BS that they are pulling. This is no way to treat a customer and I will never be back.
Snarky and childish
Just asked if they had a part in stock and got a snarky response. It was like a child runs their customer service.
Do yourself a favor and do not buy from…
Do yourself a favor and do not buy from these people. Beyond that Adept Powersports will never answer the phone if you have a problem or issue (I tried at least a dozen or more times), they berate and are very rude to their customers. So glad I found out what these guys true colors are before spending any real money with them.
Don't take my word for it. Judge for yourself as to how these guys treat customers. I have reproduced below an exact verbatim replication of the entire email chain between Adept Powersports and myself over approximately $10 in parts. Unbelievable!!

I tried to get someone from your company on the phone for the last 2 days, even left a message, but nobody answered nor returned my call. The clips you show in the jetski schematic are the wrong clip. They're too small. I need a prepaid return shipping label so I can send them back to you. I already paid shipping to have the wrong parts sent to me, so I definitely do not want to have to pay shipping to send the parts back to you. Part number is 90305-HW1-730 for $2.26 each time 4 clips plus tax.

Hi, the Honda - NUT, CLIP, (5MM), Part # 90305-HW1-730 is a 5mm clip - it's not wrong, it's a small clip. Our website is NOT wrong, we've been selling Honda Aquatrax parts for a very long time and as you well know those watercraft are no longer produced and those part diagrams from Honda have not changed in 20 years, and neither have the parts listed on them. If you ordered the wrong part, you are welcome to return them. We understand you don't want to pay shipping to return wrong parts you ordered, but we sent you exactly what you ordered, and the schematic is absolutely not wrong
We also do not want to pay for your return shipping - as we had nothing to do with your choice to order those parts, so guess we are at an impasse. We have done nothing wrong, and shipped you what you ordered and like everywhere else, when you decide to return something, it's at your expense, not the store that sent you what you ordered.
If you want some help finding the correct part, you need to start with telling us what exact year and model your Honda is, and then what you are looking for and we can point you to the correct schematic.
This is what the clip should look like. If that is NOT what you received, let us know.

Well they don’t fit the bolts you sent me that went with them. Glad I am finding out what it’s like to buy from you before I buy anything else from your company if this is the way you treat your customers. I won’t make the same mistake twice. Your schematic is wrong, and the clips do not fit the bolts that you sold to me that were supposed to go with them. They are two completely different sizes. I need to escalate to your manager. How do I do that?

Maybe they are not supposed to go with the "bolts we sent you"?
The Honda - BOLT, SPECIAL, (6X25), Part # 90085-HW1-730 does NOT go with the Honda - NUT, CLIP, (5MM), Part # 90305-HW1-730, it goes with NUT, CLIP, (6MM) Part #: 90302-HW1-730, which is clearly shown on the schematics on our website.
You can't be for real - website clearly shows everything, you refuse to look at it or tell us what year and model Honda you have and what "schematic" you are looking at. Because you know you are 100% wrong and think you are going to threaten us into getting your way... not here.
So here is what's going to happen. There will be no talking to the "manager" - I am as most senior person you are ever going to talk to here. You are now blocked from ordering on our website and your email address is blocked as Spam so you stop sending these mentally ill emails accusing us of insane things.
You have an RMA number and an email with return instructions - you have 30 days to return the clips if you do not want them at your expense.
Best of luck.
Horrible to deal with
Horrible to deal with, they should be called Inept power sports. Wrong parts wrong pricing overall rude and lame. We are filing a better business beaury complain as I write this and a credit card charge back to get my money back.
Terrible customer service…
I reached out to the customer service yesterday 5/20/2025 looking for a part for my outboard motor asking questions. The representative with no name was very rude saying I was wasting their time. I told them I will take my business elsewhere with that poor attitude and response. He replied back blocking my email spam. This jerk is a total Prick! Do not buy from this business.
