We were on a week training brick laying course.
You leearn a lot about the basics of bricklaying.
Very good teachers especially simon and martin.

I recently completed my City & Guilds 2365-02, 2365-03, 2357-44 and AM2 at Able Skills Construction Training, and I honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

From day one, the support and guidance from the tutors was outstanding. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed. Whether you’re completely new to the trade or building on existing experience, they have the structure and expertise to take you from zero to hero and fully prepare you for a career as a qualified electrician.

The training centre itself is well-established and very well equipped, with realistic workshop environments that properly prepare you for both on-site work and assessments like the AM2. The balance between practical hands-on learning and underpinning theory was spot on, which gave me the confidence going into each exam and assessment.

What really stands out is the professional but supportive atmosphere. The team are approachable, always willing to answer questions, and push you to achieve your best without making you feel overwhelmed.

If you’re considering training to become an electrician in Dartford or anywhere in Kent, Able Skills is an excellent choice. Five stars all the way. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Introduction to Plastering was fantastic for beginners looking to understand the tools, techniques and process in taking steps towards becoming a competent tradesperson. In the capable hands of Joe and Neil who have a wealth of industry experience, the team at Able Skills provided a fun, safe and practical environment to allow for a comprehensive week of plastering and rendering that puts you through your paces. If you are happy to roll up your sleeves and learn from some of the best in industry, then this course is highly recommend!

I did the ‘introduction to carpentry’ week long course in October and recently started as a carpenters apprentice. Not only was Dave super lovely, he managed to teach me enough for me to feel more prepared for my new job. I learnt how to handle different tools, tips and tricks and just have an opportunity to get stuck in. He was really supportive, especially when I got a bit flappy over not (surprisingly) being able to do everything perfectly straight away, made me feel totally at ease and was really patient. The course did exactly what it said on the tin, I was suuuper excited about the fact I made a door with all the trimmings(!) so yeah, 10/10 highly recommend. Lovely supportive teachers in a really welcoming environment. The tiling lads were good craic too.

I attended able skills to complete a intruduction to tiling course,and was amazed with the training, and the Centre, every person I spoke to was back completing more training,speaks volumes,great athmoshere and buzz around the training centre,I will defo be back to complete the advanced course,I have already tiled my outdoor step 👌👍

I would highly recommend Able skills to anyone looking to upskill based on price and flexibility.

This is my 3rd course with able skills, the instructors there are amazing and know there stuff, I done a plastering course with them 10yrs ago and now own a very successful plastering company, I’ve just completed a brick laying course and a rendering course to add to my portfolio, I highly recommend able skills and have got some good contacts from there as well.

Very Good School learning was stunning instructor was very helpful along the way take time to explain and teaches us in every way possible would recommend this to any one who’s having interest in attending Able Skills

Did it one week painting and decorating course fantastic insight how to become a patterdecorator having dyslexic and ADHD? I was a bit worried about doing the course but nice instructor was great very patient

Excellent training at Able Skills. Trevor, Steve, and Clive are top-class tutors – knowledgeable, supportive, and clearly very experienced. The course was well structured, practical, and straight to the point. Highly recommended for anyone serious about getting properly qualified.

Training very good , training facility very good as well

The instructors on the introductory Brickwork course - Simon and Martin - were very knowledgeable, incredibly patient and also fun to learn from.
Enjoyed learning with other people from all different areas of trades. Facilities were great. And most importantly, we learnt a lot - building walls, chimneys and even a cavity wall in just a week. I'll be back.

Able Skills are outstanding. The course was delivered professionally, Rob Burgess explained everything clearly, and the support throughout was first class. I’ve just passed my 2391 theory with 93%, thanks to their excellent training. Highly recommended to anyone in the electrical industry.

I’ve just completed my NVQ Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery course at Able Skills, and I can honestly say it’s been an outstanding experience.

Paul, Kev and Dave are not only fantastic, fully engaging teachers, but true masters of their trade. Their passion for carpentry really shows in the way they teach, and their hands-on knowledge is second to none. The depth of experience between them gives you real confidence that you’re learning the right techniques, the right way.

There’s no way I would have completed this course without their support, patience, and wealth of expertise. If you have the opportunity — and the means — to fund this course, do it. Don’t waste your time going to college. The practical knowledge and real-world experience you gain here is invaluable.

If I could offer one piece of constructive feedback for Able Skills (not the lads) — which may be more relevant to the weekend course — it would be to have all three tutors present at the same time rather than staggered. Having them in together would better balance the student-to-tutor ratio and allow even greater access to their combined knowledge throughout the sessions.

I’m extremely grateful for everything they’ve taught me and would highly recommend Able Skills to anyone serious about building a career in carpentry and joinery.
