Ultra bounce makes camera useless

Second time buying from this company. First time the lead time on the case was slow but the case itself was very good and sturdy.

Decided this time to go for even sturdier case - the ultra bounce for iPhone 16pro. However the new camera enclosure makes the case almost useless. Dust collects behind the plastic screen requiring an almost daily clean of the case interior and phone to hopefully ensure images are not blurry. Also camera cover is made of plastic it seems which if scratched (and for a durable case you expect durability) will also mean images are lower quality than they should be.

Really disappointed after a better than expected experience from the first purchase.

After lengthy back and forth with Casetify where I offered them working solutions to the issue their solution was:

Return the item (at my own cost) and pick a new one

All well and good but if I were to do that I would first have to send the item to France from Ireland and then wait for the cover to be manufactured a process that normally takes 2-3 weeks. This would leave me without phone protection for 3-4 weeks or a further cost of a different cover to tide me over. In my humble opinion that’s not good enough. Replacement should not always hinge on a return especially when the company are obviously at fault.

What annoys me is that for an extremely expensive case one would think the R&D dept would have picked up on something so basic and now because of their error I’m being penalised again.

After spending time trying to come up with a better solution (I do believe the case part itself is good) I provided the following ideas to Casetify:

A) Remove the camera enclosure part of the case. That’s where the dust collects. It does reduce the camera protection but only to the same level as the Bounce version of their cases.

B) Drill out the lens parts of the camera enclosure part (this is what I did myself) so that dust cannot collect behind a scratchable screen. If they took it a step further they could include the foam part separating the flash from the lens around each of the lens improving the impact protection.

These are both solutions Casetify can and should look at implementing for this part of their Ultra Bounce case.

I should note that when I complained about the cost of return I was offered store credit. Woop-dee-doo! Store credit on c. €15 buys me exactly nothing and buys them a possible future customer…🧐

Last point. If you buy a clear case be prepared to crud and crap for accumulate behind it making your phone look dirty. It’s just an observation but one I think everyone, Casetify included, could learn from.

Poor Delivery Time - Insurance Declined Damage

Paid for delivery of item from Germany to Ireland with increased insurance and 5-6 day turn around.

Item took 9 days to arrive in Ireland and a further 3 days to arrive at my home. 12 days total!

Box looked ok. Driver left. Opened box and item was damaged clearly having fallen from a height. Immediately called courier. They redirected me to mailboxde

Mailboxde put in claim to GLS but courier service dismissed claim because apparently box (full of bubble wrap) wasn’t wrapped enough.

How much wrapping is needed? Why bother insuring for damage at all- company are only going to deny responsibility and take your money.

Very disappointing service.

I am sending you a random video from YouTube where some influencer shows how to pack a shipment. This method of packaging and the amount of padding is sufficient in our opinion. I agree with the carrier and the inadequacy of the inner packaging for your shipment.

I looked at what was damaged in your shipment and we contacted the sender to see if we could help you replace this damaged part. We also sent the packaging video to the sender, who is responsible for sufficient packaging.

I can't say who made the mistake, but we will try to help you, although the carrier rejected the damage due to insufficient packaging.

I had a bad day

I had a bad day, nothing went right on the job and it culminated when I broke a drawer on a fridge I was installing. In a hurry to order a replacement I ordered a top drawer from Buy-Spares.ie only to almost immediately realise I in fact needed a bottom drawer. It was a Friday evening and I immediately went to the website to contact them to cancel the order - no number or email was apparent.

Then I came to Trustpilot only to read so many poor reviews about customer service and also the fact it’s a .ie domain but actually a UK company so be prepared for customs charges!!

Could my day get any worse?? Now I’m down two drawers and have customs charges facing me.

Well I used the online form on the site to cancel the order. Got an email the following week to confirm the order had dispatched but that they would a) refund the full order (delivery incl) and b) I didn’t have to refund the item. Not only that but the item arrived two days later with no customs charges.

TL:DR. Didn’t pay customs charges to Ireland and also got full refund without having to return the item.

Great customer service

I purchased 3 cameras from Reolink the past couple of years. Two solar panel run and one hard wired. I was most concerned by the solar panels as i live in Ireland - traditionally not very sunny! That said they are still showing batteries at 100% almost 18months later!

Recently I had a problem with one camera not registering to the app. I tried many things before contacting Reolink. They asked me to run through a few different fixes but once it was clear it was not working as intended they offered a full replacement of the unit. I put my defective unit in the post and they sent me a new (or possibly refurbed?) unit. Its back in place displaying my front yard again.

At all times it was easy to communicate with the company and the returns process was easy to complete my only gripe was the return to Poland from Ireland was at my own expense (€16) but thats the joys of buying things online from abroad!

Long lead time. Artwork looks cheap

Took nearly 6 weeks from ordering to receiving the case. The case itself looks sturdy but the artwork looks cheap compared to the image shown online of what I was buying.
