I received melted discolored chocolate pistachios from Japan and they only refunded me for 2 of the 7 packages with a coupon for future purchase that I will never use. Poor quality and customer service
Fake BA Pola day cream
Purchased a BA Pola day selector. Received a fake one. Since I have been using this product for 4 years, i know how the smell and consistency of the cream is. The customer service insisted on it's authentic and how it's very a trusted merchant. All I know is that what I receive ain't a real one. Not even close. After going back and forth, the agent said that I can return it if it's unopened and unsed. How would I be able to tell if it's a fake product if I didn't open it?! What a bunch of BS

Demands photo of credit card
Placed an order in the USA, using a USA credit card that is many years old (not a new card), for shipping to a USA address, and the shipping address matches the credit card address. In other words, nothing sketchy about the purchase. But they sent an email saying I must send them a photo of my credit card. Ummm... NO! I've made similar purchases at hundreds of other companies over the many years I've been at this address using this same credit card and never had any problem or ever been asked for a photo of the card. If anything is sketchy here it is this company and their demand for a photo of my card. Yeah, like I'm going to fall for giving some stranger the ability to then use that photo to make fraudulent charges with my card. Not! Be very wary of this company!!!
Company is a scam
I purchased from this company and within hours my credit card was hacked and high dollar purchases were made at various companies in the Los Angeles area which is coincidentally where this company is based out of. They have theives working for this company. Do not purchase here unless you want your bank account to be scammed for hundreds of dollars!
Yami will not take care if the package…
Yami will not take care if the package is not delivered. Be aware! They will simply ask you to contact their carrier. Why is it my job to do that? I have already paid the delivery fee since the package's value is over $500.00. Do not buy anything here if its value is over $50; they will not prioritize your concerns.
The time it takes to receive their assistance is excessively long, as they have not yet resolved our problem.
Referral Error
I am writing to lodge a complaint against Yamibuy for failing to issue me a promised $20 referral coupon. Over the past 5 years, I've made numerous purchases, contributing thousands of dollars to their business. Recently, I referred my roommate, who not only placed multiple orders but also bought a $500 gift card. Despite this, Yamibuy has refused to provide the referral reward, citing our shared shipping address as the reason. Upon reviewing Yamibuy's referral program details, I found no mention of restrictions related to shared addresses. Furthermore, Yamibuy inaccurately claimed my roommate and I used the same phone number. In truth, he provided his number for his account, only using mine for shipping purposes. Requests: 1. Issue the $20 referral coupon rightfully owed to me. 2. Update Yamibuy's website to clearly state all referral program conditions, ensuring future transparency. This situation showcases a significant lack of clarity and fairness in Yamibuy's practices and the management really needs to think about this.
great for staples
I've been ordering from Yami once a year since June, 2021. I haven't bought anything fresh--just dried/preserved foods, sauces and other shelf-stable staples. If you bundle the order and get free shipping, prices are comparable to large Chinese groceries--i.e., low. During the pandemic they had trouble keeping things in stock (no surprise) but selection now is good. Shipping is fast and breakable items are well wrapped. Nothing I've gotten has been expired as reported by other reviews.
Surprisingly Good with Fast Shipping
I bought mostly snack/beverage items with some beauty products, but I'll be giving a review of the food products. Shipping was 1-day (free after a certain $ amount), and the prices make purchasing worth it even if you have Asian stores in your area.
I was concerned about the expiration dates on the beverages, but they do seem to be production dates. The shelf life matches the expiration date the website gives, so you can probably trust the date the site gives.
I didn't have any experience with customer service, nor did I face any ID verification checks. If you're still concerned about expiration dates, I'd stick to buying mostly items you know have a long shelf life. If your first order goes well, you can try other types of products.
Edit: My second order (june 2024) arrived with no problems. I bought snacks, drinks, and an affordable sunscreen spray. My third order (jan 2025) also arrived with no issues.

This is the second time I have ordered from Yamibuy, and it was an excellent experience. It was clear in their information that some items are not direct shipped from their store, so some orders can take longer. My order shipped day after I ordered it, and arrived the same week. This company is excellent, and including shipping is still cheaper than my local Asian super markets.

I am NOT happy with how customer service handle my complaint with them expired products. I bought a dozen of tea drinks with an expiration date of October 2023 printed on the bottle. Customer service try to explain that was the production date NOT expiration date. I find it hard to believe that I had purchased other tea drinks in the same order from the same manufacturer had August 2024 dates printed on the bottle. I try to tell them those dates on the bottle are expiration dates NOT production dates, I would not have a product with a future date of August 2024 as the production
date. It only make sense that those dates on the tea drink bottles are expiration dates. I went back and forth with 2 emails and the customer service still insists that she is right.
That is the reason I wrote this review and "buyers beware" Yami will sell expired beverage products and try to convince you that it's not.
Moldy food and horrible customer service! Yami doesn't care about food safety!
I would give the company 0 star if I could. I purchased some "flower cakes" a few days ago, knowing that the expiration date is August 4, 2024. My son and I ate 2/3 of cakes yesterday before I saw the mold inside. I immediately posted a review on the product listing, attached a photo of the moldy cake and asked people not to buy it. I then emailed the customer service.
I've been having stomach cramps since last night!
The customer service replied today and here is the response: sorry for the inconvenience. We issued a refund for the product. I cannot believe they downplayed the issue so shamelessly! It's a lot more than an "inconvenience". It is a food safety issue and a food poisoning case!
I then checked the product listing and it's still being sold. I also realized that I can only see my review when I log into their app or website. My friends and other people cannot see it. I cannot believe Yami hid my review and is still selling the product!
I will never purchase from Yamibuy again! Please stay away from it!
What a corrupted company
What a corrupted company, they allow third party selling totally spoiled mooncake products (with large area of mold on the surface) to their customer. They one hundred percent already knew the spoiled state of the products for many days, probably after receiving a lot of complaints from many people buying them due to the big sale, yet they still allow them continue to be listed on the website with a 75% off sale on going for a long time. This is a totally corrupted immoral company, with blatant business fraud, for a bloody last penny it could completely disregard public health. This type of food should be destroyed immediately and the company should ban the third party selling the products immediately after a first legit complaint, according to government food safety law and regulation. Yet for the last bloody dirty penny, the disgusting company still allows them selling on their website, with the 75% off as a trap.
What an immoral dishonest company!

Like others have said, yami is outstanding. The dates posted are production dates and not expiration dates. The website is super easy to use, great pricing and has super fast shipping. I will be ordering for the foreseeable future. Also idk with all of the cc stuff on here. Try Apple Pay. It’s 2024 in 3 weeks.

New customer, I signed up for Yami mainly for Japanese drug store beauty items. I ordered on Black Friday evening 11/24, and all 6 items arrived on 11/26 Sunday evening! Very happy with their online chat, even though it's a small purchase US$60 (for 6 items) , I received a welcome discount code email 5 mins after I placed my order, so I did a live chat trying to ask if I still qualify to use the 10% off, customer service J Tina replied :
"J Tina (11/24/2023, 6:31:07 PM): As an exception, we can issue a $6.08 refund for the price difference. After your order is shipped out, it will be back to the original payment method in 3-5 business days. " Excellent customer service, fast and efficient, I already received the refund on 11/26 morning, and all the goods on 11/26 evening :)
I usually order my J Beauty or K Beauty items from YesStyle in Hong Kong, but it takes up to 22 days for the shipment which is a bit long for the wait.
Very happy with the experience in Yami, thank you and will order more items soon!!
