Workshop Heaven staff were extremely helpful when I had an issue with the plane I purchased. I received fast replies to my emails and the replacement parts were sent extremely quickly. Great customer service is vital for any company, Workshop Heaven absolutely excels in this area. Great tools, great value, great company!

Following my disappointment with a hand-brace I had bought, Workshop Heaven said they were sorry I was not happy with the product and invited me to return it for a full refund. They sent me a pre-paid label and have now refunded me in full. It is good to be able to trust merchants to live up to their excellent reputation for quality and service

Ordered the Quangsheng No. 4-1/2 Bedrock Pattern Smoothing Plane. It's had some good reviews so thought I'd give it a chance.
It arrived with the blade set proud of the sole, luckily no damage to the blade. A small point but could indicate lack of supplier care/knowledge. There was also lots of nasty indentations along one of the bottom edges, like it had been knocked or hit with a hard metal tool like a hammer. These can mostly be removed to make the plane useable but will always be visible.
The sides are acceptably square and the sole is flat. I've had much more expensive planes that have required more fettling than this one, so I'm happy about that.
It's heavy for its size, I weighed it at 2657 grammes. For comparison my Clifton no.6 weighs 3770 grammes. I prefer heavier planes so this suits me.

Overall it seems like a well made bit of kit. Without the other issues it would have gotten 5 stars but I'm a bit annoyed at having to put work into a tool that probably left the factory needing almost none, hence 3 stars.
It's early days but this plane looks like it will work well and last a lifetime. Pity about the obvious mishandling along the way. Someone either didn't check the tool prior to sending it to me, or they sent it regardless of the damage.
