I had a very disappointing experience with Wizz Accounting.

Despite proactively reaching out multiple times before key deadlines—both through their website and directly to the accountant assigned to me—I did not receive any meaningful response or clear guidance. I clearly explained that my company had financial activity (including expenses and invoices), yet I was not advised of any VAT obligations or filing requirements.

The responses I did receive focused only on accounts and corporation tax, with no mention of VAT compliance or deadlines. In several instances, I received no reply at all when seeking clarification.

As a result, I later received a VAT Notice of Assessment from HMRC for a return that was not submitted on time.

What is most concerning is not just the missed filing, but the lack of communication and accountability. As a client, I relied on professional advice to ensure compliance, especially after providing relevant financial information and actively asking for direction. At no point was I informed that any VAT action was required or that I needed to engage a separate provider.

This situation could have been easily avoided with proper communication and basic advisory support.

I am now in the process of resolving this directly with HMRC.

I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to clearly confirm, in writing, exactly what is and is not included—particularly around VAT responsibilities—to avoid similar issues.

Utterly useless company. I was using their VAT registration form which only allows you to select countries beginning with A as your place of business which is no good if you are based in the U.K. like the majority of their customers. Nobody bothers to answer the chat on the website and I've called eight times now over the last three days and I have yet to receive a callback from Stephen Wallace who apparently "manages" the VAT registration process. Avoid at all costs.

After being assured multiple times that my end-of-year accounts would be completed on time, I made every effort to promptly provide all necessary documents, including completing the security checks. I spoke with Steven Woodhouse, who guaranteed that everything would be handled, and that I should not worry.

However, despite these assurances, I have now been issued a fine, and the accounts remain incomplete. When I followed up with the accountant, I was told they were too busy to complete the work—despite the previous promises. It is not my fault that the work was delayed, and I was never informed of any issues until it was too late.

Thank you for your complete lack of professionalism and the rudeness I experienced on the phone.
