Lovely branch. I have been using Derby Wickes for years, they always help out when asked.

I was discriminated at wickes Derby and treated so badly at wickes Derby store.

I went into store at around 18:44pm date 10th April 2025. I approach the till and requested a refund for the tap and waste I bought on clearance on Sunday 6th April 2025. I returned it as it couldn't fit my tap at home.

There were two older ladies and a young woman who shouted and treated me so badly infront of my children and ask me to "get out of the store" and refused to refund me claiming because it's on clearance they don't want to refund me.

I asked them to show on where it is written that they can't refund me and they said they don't need to show me and will not listen to me.

They three women went ahead and said the refund is at managers discretion and she can choose who to refund and who not to refund. My response was this is discrimination against me.

I am so disappointed and very shaken about the situation. My kids who are only 7 and 8 where very scared about the whole situation while they all shouted at me.

For the past few months while doing my house renovation I have spend almost £5000 on wickes and this is the treatment I get. This can be confirmed with my email address.

NOTE WE ARE NOW 12 WEEKS INTO THE COMPLAINT, 11 EMAILS, MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS AND HOURS WASTED WITH NO RESPONSE OR CORRESPONDENCE FROM WICKES.

If you are thinking of using Wickes for your bathroom I would urge you to look elsewhere. The design consultant was great however aftercare and customer service is shocking. Our shower stopped working 4 days after completion. Customer service team are terrible - no one calls back when promised. Only spoke to our assigned contact once or twice as he is never there! Now on day 4 of no shower and no closer to any resolution. First option given was to fix it ourselves!! Turns out our installer was sacked after our job and they cannot get him to return to remedy the issue. Currently calling 4 times a day chasing updates as no one calls back. Each time raising we only have one bathroom and are without facilities. Billy from customer service told me we are fine as "we have a sink" and went on to tell me to wash my children in a sink. Remedial work will apparently take 30 days just to be assigned and today on a thursdau told nothing more they can do until Monday. Absolutely appauled at the 'service' from Wickes. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

I’m delighted with my Wickes kitchen that has recently been installed. From our first appointment, Tamsin was friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgable about the products. The whole process was seamless and stress-free from initial plans, ordering, redesigning and delivery-nothing was too much trouble. Thank you!

My worktops were initially left off the order for some reason. Once they were ordered i was advised they would be couriered to arrive monday 7th as the installer is already on site. I have been informed they are being delivered on 12th but the installer will be finished by then and wont be able to complete the install. The money i have spent and the service has not been the best experience.
It has been a complete mess as i am without a completed kitchen

Had trouble finding something in store even though it said was available to click and collect. BEV at the DERBY store was so helpful! Nothing was too much trouble! Absolute fantastic customer service! Thank you BEV!

We went to Wickes, initially, to purchase new kitchen cupboard doors. It became quickly apparent that this was going to be a fools errand and decided to renew the kitchen, the gas cooker needed to be upgraded to induction as we have solar panels fitted also. Steve Smith was helpful, knowledgeable and reassuring. His whole approach was to ensure we got exactly what we needed within the budget agreed.
the home survey was painless and Steve had some great ideas for maximising storage. The plan and CAD 3D drawings were shown to us two days later and we are in love with the design!!. The kitchen and fitting came within our budget and looks incredible. Now it is a case of waiting and counting the days until we can cook on our new hob!!! Thankyou Wickes, Thanks Steve.

Fantastic customer service. I am heavily pregnant and moving house, i was welcomed by a member of staff Marlon who answered all my questions and advised me on the best products to buy aswell as helping me to purchase them and get the heavy things to my car. Thank you!

I have used Wickes in the past from a fitted kitchen to the new bathroom upstairs.
I have a small cloakroom so went to Wickes I was booked in for November 25th 2024. The fitter came did a survey I explained I needed it done at the end of November due to annual leave.
Two weeks before the fitter was to start I get a text saying he can't do the job basically he took on another job mostly with more money.
So I called customer service relations I explained this is unacceptable being told two weeks before it'd not happening.
They said they will try to find another fitter, I also spoke to the salesperson who did the design.
That same day they found me another fitter. I met vik that same week he gave me his price but demanded the money upfront I really didn't want to buy I had no choice.
Now on the day it was his brother in law that was going to be doing the work as vik had 3 other jobs on the go.
Now the young lad was ok but he didn't do a full day turned up at 9.30 left at 3 to pick his kid up.
The first week I had an issue with the passage way flooring which wasted 4 days getting it sorted.
He started to take the Mick each day I was lucky if he turned up at 9.30 . I was getting fed up of his excuse of oh can't stay long got the council coming to fix my boiler. Other times it's I can only stay an hour this was by now in my 3rd week. His girlfriend didn't work which annoyed me when he had to keep going off to sort his personal things out. I kept saying I wanted it finished by Christmas. The week before Christmas on the Wednesday he didn't show vik came to do some pipework eventually he got hold of his brother in law. I was told he had quit I found this disrespectful he hadn't contacted me. I spoke to customer relations they were useless I told them how the job was started in November it still wasn't finished, just to point out I was having the walls, floor tiled a new toilet, vanity unit plus heated towel rail fitted . Nothing fancy so I told them can they find me a tiler I wanted to put in a complaint,I've spoken to that many people on the customer relations all as useless as each other.
So I'm still waiting for it to be complete it's stressing me out ,the sink isn't fitted to the wall yet , the wall tiles need grouting. Plus I've a small porch they will be tilling that it's nearly two months since this began I wouldn't recommend vik or Wickes to anyone he's taken my money. Vik comes does a little work then goes he turns up at 9.45 leaves at 1. The other fitters I have had in the past have been brilliant they all did a full day's work this guy vik doesn't know the meaning

After receiving a very bad experience from the B&Q in derby, I went to Wickes and I was not disappointed at all! I met a member of staff called Kam at the London Rd branch who was absolutely amazing in terms of her customer service and how she helped me identify the paint I needed. She spent a good amount of time answering all my questions and even showing me what each shade of paint would actually look like. By far the best customer service I've ever received. If you ever go there ask for Kam and she'll help you till your completely satisfied.

We researched our new kitchen for some time and narrowed down to B&Q or Wickes. We preferred the quality of the Wickes kitchen but what really made the decision was the professionalism of Dmitri the Wickes designer. B&Q have an online design suit accessible by customer and designer but it’s slow and glitchy and the B&Q designer struggled to use it. Also when we asked about different surfaces etc Dmitri showed us the choices whereas the B&Q designer told us which aisle they were in.

Install was arranged promptly within 8 weeks and Lucid were assigned the install phase. Dominic and Olly were again very professional and adapted to small changes in the design.

Overall we are very happy with Wickes (Dmitri) and Lucid and would not hesitate to recommend.
