Been using Urban for years to reference check my tenants and have found their service excellent.

Daniel is very good but the rest of the team including the property management and finance teams are incompetent. I am using Urban for the first time and opted for my usual fully managed service, as I do with other lettings agents, but ended up doing most of the handover myself! Something that I've never had to do in 25 years of being a landlord.

When I reported this to Urban, all I had was excuses (GDPR) and false promises. So I escalated it to Preeti, the so called director of finance who promised compensation of a paltry £42.00 over 6 weeks ago. Such is the incompetence that even that hasn't been paid.

I'm not one for hammering people and companies online, as I like to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves. However, I feel that I have been more than reasonable in giving them a month to fix their issues before keeping to my advanced warning of posting my experiences online.

So my recommendation based on my experience as a responsible landlord is stay away!

It does exactly what it says on the tin .. easy to set up and administer at a reasonable cost ... highly recommended

I use URBAN for my sole rental flat, easy to use, good communication from Daniel and they do what they say they are going to do. I have used them 4 times now and each time they have found a good tenant with excellent references, no missed rent and no damage.

Being a regular user of urban.co.uk I would highly recommend them, I would like to pay a special mention to Daniel King, he is always exceedingly helpful, knowledgeable and very willing to assist.

I am a landlord who read a bunch of great reviews on Urban however my listing experience has been far than simple. I went online listed my property and it sat in a prelive position for at least 2 days I called them and their call center rang out the first 3 times I eventually got through to someone asking for a status update. They told me the person who manages it isn’t available for 10 mins I said I’ll wait they said he can’t keep the line open or hold as he needs to stay open for enquiries. He promised he would call me back that day. Numerous emails to them go unanswered. I don’t trust them at all and want my money back.

After contacting them they promised my money back and said it was refunded, however a charge of £99 still appears on my account and they haven't responded back.

We were slightly reluctant to use an online agent having had no experience of such - or direct/personal recommendations for Urban. My only complaint is that we did find the website/account details hard to navigate - but the telephone service was second to none. Particular reference must be made to Daniel King, who always responded in a timely and professional manner to all our queries.
It was/is such a weight off my mind to know all the paperwork/referencing etc was professionally taken care of.
I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The effective customer care service delivery by the staff was super. The support rendered by the staff in helping to download my pictures on the advert was remarkable coupled with the speed of same day of putting up the advert within hours is tremendous.
The friendliness and politeness of the staff that attended to me anytime I contacted the office is worthy of emulation by all organisations that attend to the public.

We have used Urban for a few years. Always very happy with the service we have received and we consider the service good value for £99. They are available to contact in evenings and at weekends. The last property which we advertised at the end of January had 26 responses in 3 weeks.

Good people, good service, can't ask for more

I used there deposit scheme and it was fast and efficient.
