Appalling product and shocking customer service
We bought luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring from United Carpets in March 2022 for £2,150, supplied and fitted by them. Within just two years it started turning bright green.
We reported this in December 2024 and spent almost a year chasing a response. When they finally replied in October 2025, our claim was dismissed. They blamed “UV light” despite the problem starting in winter, and despite the fact that everything else in the same sunlight – our blinds, kitchen worktops, table and mats – remains perfect.
The product is poor quality, the excuses are ridiculous, and the aftersales support is non-existent. For the price and promises made, this is totally unacceptable.
United Carpets refuse to take responsibility or stand by their products. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Staff all excellent, my only question would be the fitted free statement! Confusing to say the least, paying on the day of fitting ??
Thank you for the friendly service at all stages, only suggestion would be to take full payment at purchase at least then customer wouldn’t feel like the statement is misleading.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback and for shopping with United Carpets.
With regards to the Free Fitting message. We work with fitters solely as an introducer and do not supply any fitting services. The independent fitters who we introduce to our customers at the customers request, supply their services entirely Independently. We do however, discount the purchase price of your goods in store by the amount that the fitter has estimated he/she would charge for the job that you have described to us. This discount then allows you the customer to fund paying the independent fitter directly on the day of your installation.
This process is explained on in store signage throughout our stores, on all of our invoices and by the respective salespeople at the point of purchase. Apologies for any uncertainty that you may have experienced on this occasion.
Thank you again for your feedback, we are pleased to see that you were so happy with the service from the staff in store.

Fantastic customer service from both Ash and Chris. Ash helped us with the details of our home visit quote as we decided to go with a managers special in store. While in store we brought along our lively toddler and baby and Chris was down to earth and even let our daughter wrap some carpet. We felt very welcome, ash answered our questions,insightful and helpful. Overall, would recommend and we saved money from our initial quote. Definitely will use them for our landing and stairs. Brilliant experience
Matt was very knowledgeable and showed us several options of vinyl and let us take some samples home. He was polite and friendly and professional. The fitter Blake came when booked, he was a very clean worker, polite and could not have been any better we would use him again and recommend him to anyone. Although the whole process took longer than expected due to a floor level issue and was more costly we were really happy with the outcome. Would not hesitate to recommend him and the company in the future

We visited for some advice on the best…
We visited for some advice on the best way to cover a shower room floor which is small and not the most even of surfaces, we were directed to some lino with felt backing, which we agreed would solve our problem. When the fitter arrived I pointed out to him the difficulties he had to overcome, when he had finished he invited me to inspect it, WOW! I never imagined he could have done such a great job. Well done everyone involved, will definitely use them again to renew our hall stair and landing.

All the staff are really helpful from arranging the measuring to going in and choosing which colour i wanted and the difference in the ranges of laminate, even so far as welcoming my little old dog who I couldn't leave at home because she isn't familiar with the new house yet, they all made a fuss of her which was nice, but overall I have used united before albeit not in boston but I must just say that the boston lads could teach the crewe lads a lot about professionalism and courtesy and it was a pleasure to deal with them

I have used United carpets in Boston many times. My sister always uses them too.
Very friendly, and they go out of their way to help (even when I measure the room wrong) Never had any issues with the fitting. Friendly fitters.

We still have not received our…
We still have not received our carpet.originally we were told 4-6 weeks, then when my husband visited the store to find out what was happening he was advised 6-8 weeks. Phone call on the 4th of August saying it had been cut and was waiting to be braided for the stairway. Still no carpet and no further contact. Very disappointed.
