Very down.! Last week I phoned Trago Newton abbot and was told it was pensioners discount day today and I could buy over the phone and get my discount and collect when I come on the Tavistock bus tomorrow, changing the item if necessary.
Today I phoned to buy and collect tomorrow to be told that pensioners discount day was the last Thursday of the month and I wouldn’t be able to have any discount.
This doesn’t seem fair as I can only get here by taking the bus which is the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month. What can you do?

My dad ordered a Cotswolds set paid in cash up front they said it would be delivered for Christmas so they got rid of their old set and were happy to sit on deck chairs for a week or so but they've recently had to go in and kick off for their money back because they took three days to put the order through to the Cotswolds company therefore missed the Christmas deadline and was told they had to wait til after the end of January! My dad is due a knee replacement and could not spend a whole month on a bloody deckchair best bit was he had actually used his funeral fund to pay for the sofa as a treat to my mum 🥺 terrible service and I do not recommend in the slightest

Worst carpets customer service dept in the UK. One person working the desk whilst another unhelpful employee hangs around the counter trying to look busy...very rude to customers. Useless...go somewhere else.

Gone right down hill

Every thing was closed even the model railway which my boy wanted to see that why we went there but says it only open at weekends even though the signs say open each day .In the store harly any thing had prices on them . Not worth the visit

The guy in the gun shop is very unhelpful.

Should lose his job in my opinion, Should be doing something else.

We bought two sofas from the furniture department and the treatment we received was second to none. Everyone was uber helpful and the whole retail experience was a real pleasure. Special mention goes to the young lady Nicky and her two colleagues who sorted everything out without any problem and was so friendly. In short, I would not hesitate but to recommend Trago furniture department to anyone.

Went to Trago and got told to leave because we had our elderly small dog in her pet stroller. Will never be returning. Terrible attitude. Looked very run down would not recommend

Whatever you do, don’t buy anything in the bathroom dept. ( N Abbot). Our delivery included a cracked toilet pan, no tap holes in the bath, chipped vanity with screws missing and wrong size bath panel ( no more in stock). Will never buy anything major from Trago again.
We had considered buying our kitchen from them- thank goodness we didn’t.

Visited the Liskeard store while on holiday in Cornwall and couldn't believe the amount of stock under one roof...Amazing place.....shame you don't do online sales ?

Great value store that sells anything from Hampsters to shotguns, potted plants to padlocks all at great prices. The layout is a little unusual but the staff friendly and helpful - in the sporting goods section there’s a great member of staff named Sylvia (5 star)

Wanted to buy a table lamp but was told they couldn't light it for although it was out on display with other lit lamps as they didn't have a bulb in it. I asked if they had one in the store,but was told they couldn't do that either. So they lost a sale. Very disappointed with sales staff. You would think being a lighting department they would have bulbs to go with the lamps they are selling.

I took my dad (who was in a wheelchair to Trago Mills Liskeard carpet department today. We both found the experience horrifying as I had to push him down a really steep ramp. The ramp is so steep you have no way of stopping going down it, & we ended up banging in to the rolls of carpet at the bottom, what's worse it's twice as hard pushing a wheelchair back up because of the steepness. I think there should be a lift or the ramp needs to be less steep. It's an accident waiting to happen. I won't be using their carpet department again with my dad.

Visited Newton Abbot Trago carpet department today. Staff were unfriendly and rude.

There seems to be a major problem with the pricing of products. I visited today (19/12/22) and every item I was going to purchase either had no point of sale price sticker or was incorrectely priced.
Wasted 1/2 hour of my life in this awful place.
Will not visit again

Went to trago in Liskeard today and never have I seen such rude missrable people. I made a comment to the lady on the check out and got looked at like I was insulting her. She was the most rude and missrable person ever. Think I will shop elsewhere. Not a very good Christmas spirit.

Not sure where to start, I think just by saying what an absolute shower of systemic ignorance this LOT are. I will cut it short, bought a good few items up to £500 worth, so not too trivial. One of them was a display item, so told to come back tomorrow to pick it up ( I live 15 miles away, so a 30 mile round trip ) that was ok.

Came back the next day at 5:10, their pick up intercom was disconnected, so phoned the collection number NO ANSWER. Went back to customer services to ask, while we were there, in the actual shop, I wanted to pick up some more items, so was told, no problems, go pick them up then come back here, the warehouse does not close until 6:30. Done that, and went back to them to say we were ready and she called the collection area to say we were on our way. Collection point door was open and ready for us yet NO ITEM ? They didn't have a clue ! They tried WORMING their way out of it now saying they were CLOSED ? Although, yes, they had JUST opened the door for me to collect ? Basically, the item had not been brought off the shop floor and frankly they could NOT BE BOTHERED TO GO AND GET IT.

To make it worse, they then just ignorantly told me to come back tomorrow ? A 30 mile round trip AGAIN ! Just through their LAZY, PATHETIC attitude towards their customers and that was from THREE people including a senior member of staff. SYSTEMATIC STUPIDITY.

Once I have this item, I will NEVER, NEVER go back there and make sure EVERYONE locally knows not to bother. The sooner this shower go out of business the better.

Quick Update :-
I have since found ALL the items I bought from Trago are CHEAPER on AMAZON, now I really think they should be put out of business, just for their ignorance and arrogance when dealing with THEIR customers.

The fire-chief said that the burning down of Trago Mills is a great example of achievement when it comes to standards of health and safety. Let's take a closer look inside this store:

If you make a purchase somewhere, cut at least ten percent from the cost and you arrive here. And not all of the stock when evaluating can be discounted due to being old or dead, burned or cheaply manufactured - proven, by the products which are more expensive and not competitively priced.

“What looks like pine is not always pine.” A softwood, to be correct - the planks which are. Unlabelled as the stock has been, some might mistake lengths nearby, also unplaned and of the same colour, as the wood next to it and not realise that they are in fact of the balsa variety.

Garden-netting which, meant to stop weeds from growing through loose stones between slabs, goes much further in functionality and actually stops concreted slabs from setting properly to the ground below. Ask the managers, and they will alert you to the fact that it must be one’s own mixture – if following instructions provided with the above-mentioned cement as bought from Trago Mills along with the netting.

They have a superb carpet section. I jumped at the opportunity to buy some grey mats from there, the tassled look evidently drafted in their original designs – the concept for aesthetics most clever, the mats were missing the running seam around the edge which is normally present in order to make sure that the threads don’t run.

Their shoulder-bags are simply unexpected. I bought one for a long journey and prior to return was ever so surprised to find that all of the items I had placed into the bag had ended up on the pavement – the managers said that bag-zips exploding was not of consequence because all of the products are different.

As a consumer, I am thankful to Trago Mills that they have taught me a lesson about false advertising. I did not know that price-tags positioned on a shelf immediately below an item were not referring to said-item just above but linked rather to products elsewhere and nowhere near. After having been educated on the matter, it seemed odd that they would follow-up further in response to my complaint on the subject - in relation to a tin of varnish - by sending a picture displaying a new tag in a position very near to the item. Were they making fun of my lack of expertise.

Some of their torches really jump out at you, springs pinging across the room when the battery compartment is opened.

I needed a tin of paint lighter than the living room walls as it was meant for the ceiling, the present colour surrounding, a Magnolia tone of Trago Mills branding (nice enough), and so visited the store to find a suitable colour with use of a Crown colour-guide available to pick up from the shelves and which displayed the shades of some of the Crown paint-tins they had for sale. Enthusiastic about getting on with the work, when at home I dabbed some onto areas of wall which had needed retouching only to find that the new paint was darker in tone than the walls. The managers, when emailed about this, did not think that there was anything wrong with the transaction, even though the Crown paint labelled ‘Snow Drop’ (a more accurate suggestion for the title, ‘Damp’) had been matched with the Crown Magnolia, the guide showing ‘Snowdrop’ as lighter in tone. One factor behind this complication being that Trago Mills branded Magnolia is not the same colour as Crown Magnolia. I actually prefer the Trago Mills version which, when thinking on it, is really something along the lines of ‘Cream’, or thereabouts; yet, shade being nice or otherwise, I was still left ten-pounds short and once again delayed in my work.

I had bought a mainline D.I.Y brand's product known as 'No More Nails'. Screws and rawlplugs the usual solution to interior wall-fixing requirements, I should have been without reaction when performance rendered was on a par with that of cellotape or blu-tack.

Bags of cement with holes in them and consequential loose cement-dust cunningly hidden on the surface so that when you haul them off the shelf, it goes all over your new clothes.

There are more experiences to note. And I might indeed add to this review.

Conclusion: there are products of good enough value to make shopping at the outlet a worthwhile trip and this makes the store a useful first-base but one at which the customer has to be prepared to lose money as well as save, the undercutting of other retailers evidently the sole aim of Trago Mills in omission of ensured quality-standards.
