The buyer of my product paid immediately into the trade me Ping system. I transferred it out immediately. Six days later the payment had been “lost”. The online help is useless. So I have ju... Se mere

CRAP - as soon as they opened up to overseas.....
Literally as soon as they opened up to the world - namely China, Hong Kong, USA, Uk, Australia - my sales of second hand goods took a dive. Why would someone buy my (quality) used goods for say $20 when they could get it brand new (not quality) for less than that. TradeMe is nothing more than a money-hungry middleman. If you choose location NZ only it makes no difference - all those other countries do drop ship from mostly Auckland it seems, and are actually all from overseas anyway. TradeMe - you suck, you are a greedy business, which unfortunately because there is no competition to take you down, we have to use your platform to sell our NZ goods - shame on you! If I could give you ZERO stars, I would.
SITE REFUSES TO ALLOW INTERNATIONAL…
SITE REFUSES TO ALLOW INTERNATIONAL REGISTRY OF LEGIT LAW-ABIDING BUYERS WHO ONLY PLAN TO BUY THEIR ITEMS AND HAVE THEM SHIPPED INTERNATIONALLY!
SITE REFUSES TO ADD A WANT IT NOW FEATURE OF THEIR OWN SUCH AS THE FORMER EBAY SITE'S ONE
Why change something that works?
Why has the website become so complicated such as adding an unnecessary step to delete a listing from your watch list. You have no idea how frustrating and slow this website has become! Whoever is doing web design and support is making it very clunky to use.
shocking platform to use
shocking platform to use, so out of touch in all that they do. They get all decisions wrong and fix 12-18 months later. Disable your acc for stupidity. Shocking platform. Customer service is non existant and when they do respond, they have a chip on their shoulder, there is no common sense with this platform. I hate it.
Won’t use trade me any more charging…
Won’t use trade me any more charging service fees to the buying and seller is a scam. They will lose customers
Terrible
Terrible, trade me had done everything it can to screw over sellers, they’ve gotten rid of the success fee system and forced ping as payment now, this sounds great if you’re buyer, however if you’re seller this opens up a world to problems for people trying to mess with you.
I’ve gotten my first nightmare of a l customer that’s teeing off because their parcel was one day later than expected, received numerous condensing and abusive/ passive aggressive emails which own shown to trade me, and they turn around and say “it doesn’t seem that they meant to be offensive” when I’ve reviewed this with other trades / people personally known.
The amount of admin, abuse and risk you have to take on board to use this far outweighs the reward of using it.
It’s too risky to use this platform now, and Brannon for customer service sucks, can’t even do his job right.
We sold a phone on trade me that was…
We sold a phone on trade me that was clearly going at the time even posted photos of it going got sold to a guy who clearly deals in electronic goods and now our phones not going thanks to him and trade me has refund his money whipped it out of our account. Don't sell electronics on trade me as even if they are going trade me will give the buyer back there money and then you have no goods to onsell and now they aren't working.
User's bad experience
Very disappointing experience. I accidentally placed a bid and contacted the seller immediately to explain and resolve the situation politely. The seller initially ignored my emails and later responded in a rude and unhelpful manner. Although Trade Me cancelled the auction and refunded the success fee, I did not feel supported during the process. Despite the matter being resolved, the seller still left negative feedback. Overall, a frustrating experience with Trade Me and a lack of support for buyers.
It was also very difficult to get hold of Trade Me to discuss this issue. The lack of timely and accessible support only made the situation more frustrating and disappointing.
It is very disappointing that both the seller and Trade Me have handled this matter so poorly. I expected much better support and accountability from this platform.
This experience has seriously affected my trust in Trade Me. At this point, I do not trust Trade Me and I am not looking forward to conducting any further trades on your platform.
Incorrect Property Market valuations and rental assessments
I have had the worst experience with Trade Me forcing their valuation and rental assessments onto my listing. These people have not much knowledge about property figures. My contact partner from Trade Me forced his extremely questionable figures several times onto my listing. Trade Me did not tell the truth in their counter submission to the court they stated that they changed the data only once. In the hearing I could prove them wrong so I would call this a blunt lie. The counter submission was not signed, so this can come only from a coward. It came out of the hearing that this is a matter for the Commerce Commission and that is my next step. I have never encountered that much rudeness and incompetence in my life as I have with the members of the staff working under Senior Account Manager Sharday Hanna from Trade Me Property. Here is one example among many others. Trade Me swapped by accident the data for two properties. This seems to be a harmless mistake, but it is not when they were told politely about this and only answered with nastiness and stuck to their mistake. In another case the vendor asked for $799.000. Trade Me' valuation was around $2 million. Can it get more stupid than that?
If I receive an apology I will be happy to publish it.
Lawless wild West
When things go well TM is useful. But when things go wrong there is 0 accountability or customer service from TM. The overseas vendors are not held responsible under NZ law so the site is becoming the lawless Wild West.
BEWAŔE Greedy Trademe
Trademe you're greedy.
Ping should be free as when you advertise an item it automatically entrenched itself in the advert. I tried to remove it but kept returning. My items proceeds were going to charity, but greedy Trademe charged a success fee and ping fee robbing the charity of 11%. You should be ashamed of yourself
Incredibly poor setup of the website
Incredibly poor setup of the website. I am logging in from another computer and I am unable to login. My one computer is at home, I am on my 2nd one, and am signed in on my phone. I am needing all of these for a variety of reasons, and wonder if that is why I cannot sign in. WTH - it is "my " account or maybe not. If there was an alternative website i would so support it. This is not accetable service. It sucks that I am needing to use it. Not impressed. Or - can I see that I have put my password in corectly - no, ......its not an option. So easy to set that up. Who is running this poor show???
Absolutely awful experience
Absolutely awful experience. They are happy to take your listing fees and offer no help when their system does weird things with listings. I asked why their Traderunner app kept listing products at random prices and QTY's, creating potential legal issues. I said this is happening on all items on the whole account, and the idiot who emailed me 3 days later (not acceptable when it was weekdays) messaged me back kept saying what is the SKU of the product you are being issues with. Did not read my email and then never replied. Never using Trademe again shocking lack of care of service, too many fees and no ability to fix issues that can have legal repercussions that their system created. Also website keeps bugging out while editing.
Just don't bother
In the early days, Sam Morgan created a fantastic site that catered to all Kiwi's in a fair, honest way. It was such a shame he sold it as it's gone downhill ever since. The TradeMe of today is awash with scammers and tat you could buy from Temu for 1/4 of the price. The customer service is pitiful, and what you used to make in profit is now swallowed up by all manner of fees. It's not worth bothering with, if you have second hand goods to sell just have a garage sale at home instead.

Recently purchased some headphones on Trademe. Whole process was smoothe!
Adverts on my TM listings .…
I have just put some articles on TM for sale , when I relooked at my listings, I was taken aback when I seen adverts for which I did not agree or wanted, I have never seen this before, TM take good money off you to sell and buy and then Ping which is all alot of money, they should not be advertising on my listing's, they get enough money, I am really considering closing down my account.
Trademe and it's site used to be so…
Trademe and it's site used to be so much better than it is now. The website navigation options have diminished and for at least a year + are still missing navigation options that it used to have. I literally have to back page in order to find button options. Ever since Trademe sold to an Australian company the site has slowly but steadily spiraled down to a pathetic user experience. They're either losing money and cannot afford to maintain the site options, or have deliberately run it down - for whatever reason? I could not guess.
For instance, you used to be able relist numerous auctions at once simply by clicking a box next to each desired auction.
You also used to be able to relist and simultaneously adjust the auction reserve or buy now price only with just 2 quick and simple steps - instead of scrolling through each separate auction option page like it is now.
At any stage, and in whichever screen you were in - you used to have a global "Items I'm selling" menu where you could quickly jump to a variety of actions. The same for "Items I've won" menu action options.
Are the tech people at Trademe even humans? Have they outsourced to another place which is completely out of touch with how good Trademe USED TO BE? Is the expectation of Trademe employees ignorant of how good Trademe USED TO BE?
Do the employee site programmers have zero care factor? Well, they'll be out of a job soon anyway.
I'm clearly a 'Pissed off user', as you can see.
Bottom line. Trademe sold itself and the new owners that only cared about returning profits for shareholders. The price went up for all fees of course. Users started getting ripped off. They left. Now there's not much left in terms of user-experience as they've pushed users away and the current owners have no money to provide a decent platform. That's my theory.
Market place for dross
What was once a wonderful market place for kiwis to trade new and secondhand items, it has become a maelstrom of crappy commercialism. The sheer volume coupled with a search engine that doesn't seem to understand the alphabet let alone actual words, makes it a nightmare to use. What a waste...
TM has changed for the worse
TM has changed for the worse. Different things that used to be available & so important I feel like enlarging the item's photo amongst other things have been removed. So disappointing. When searching TM I feel bombarded with items from China & overseas (screeds & screeds of the same item) instead of NZ sold items, new & second hand. Often there are glitches with the search engine which will right itself but some time later. They charge tax on post/courier, % fee to use PING etc. (for the Seller) I feel they are trying to squeeze every cent out. If there has been a problem with a Seller or Bidder, you can ring in for Customer Support & pay through the nose. You can email but it's a much longer process. It looks/feels so different now but sadly not for the better!
Extremely poor User Experience, No real Customer Support, another drop-shipping clone now.
They should definitely consider selling it back to someone who knows what they are doing. We are running online sales on Amazon and eBay but I completely withdrew from trading on Trademe after the UK takeover around Covid times. No meaningful form of contact, high fees, and no real Customer Service. It used to be great, that's how we made many sales, then we closed down the online shop and finally reduced all the individual listings. It's just dead now. With this attitude Trademe soon will fold in New Zealand. Never thought that Facebook marketplace would have higher turnover than Trademe.
