Terrible support for repairs on Council flats
We have had a leak in our flat due to a leak in the boiler in the Council property above ours. We reported this 3 weeks ago to their branch Tower Hamlets Homes, the leak has still not been fixed and no one is there to help.
Mould and an asthmatic 2 year old aren't urgent.
I have an ongoing issue which is no closer to getting sorted out than it was when it was first reported.
My property is riddled with damp and mould.
I have a 2 year old with severe asthma and have to have my child sleep at my parents house as I can’t risk her health anymore.
I have spent hundreds on trying to make the place a home..you hang wallpaper and it literally FALLS off the walls as it’s wet. I’ve bought dehumidifiers for every room. I am now paying for our clothing and possessions to be in storage as everything is getting damaged and ruined by mould… I raised this again 6 days ago and was told Mears would come and do a ‘mould wash’ after chasing it up yet again today I was told “it’s only been 6 days” when in actual fact this has been a problem for years!!!
I had also reported an issue with my water pressure and taps and had a plumber come out to change the taps which has now resorted in my hot water(the hot water that I pay for)leaking..but this isn’t an emergency and I can wait another 3 weeks for an operative to come out and assess the issue..?!
It’s a simple,basic necessity to have a warm,clean home for myself and my child and both THC and Mears are preventing us from having that.

Horrendous level of service and performance.
I had a water leak to a gas boiler in the kitchen since 2016 I reported it and they only fixed it in 2021. I have tried for many years. I had to obtain a solicitor and take potential legal action just to get THH to take the water leak seriously.
They procrastinate, send incorrect staff to repair.
Staff on repairs line are very abusive, particularly female staff when I telephoned to report it was still leaking, the customer service repairs line told "You sound like my mother your always phoning and nagging" . Despite six (6) years of water leaks. They do not apologise and they treat clients in thier homes with utter contempt. There are laws under housing landlord and tenant act and they ignore all laws. Repair statutory duties they ignore them. Water was flooding down the wall of the communal corridor and they threatened me not to raise the matter .
THH are a arms length housing management provider and very profit driven .
There was no lighting at rear or in communal dark areas. When you place laundry outside to dry by time you collect it in the evening its pitch black . With dangerous stairs THH installed.
They do not care about disabled residents or the statutory law on disabled or equality.
THH think they are above all housing law.
They left me with no heating boiler broken down and no radiators when it was snowing one year for 4 months.
They refused to repair it.
Made numerous excuses. I had to contact my local elected councillor, before they even replied.
My medical doctor had to write letters.
Unbelievable contempt for residents
Appalling staff. Disgraceful. They have complete contempt to me as a resident.
Its profit driven . In conjunction with Mears group for thier repairs.
Mears left me with no heating for 4 months THH did nothing to assist.
They never turn up for repairs appointments.
Do not rent from these THH and if your a resident there is a consultation by Tower Hamlets council asking if residents want the council to take the service back in house

With the water leaking and electricity lights in communal areas I was very concerned the building would get set alight, like Grenfell. Similarly these arms length housing like Grenfell are just placing thier profits over residents.

Debra Burns housing manager and Nazmin from bookings team are disgusting. The way they treat you on the phones and lie to cover for each other is horrible. I nearly got burgled and Nazmin had such a sarcastic tone and approach towards me and the call resulted in it being terminated without a valid reason. Further more Debra Burns is another horrible character that has damaged my mental health, asking her for advice or help. She humiliated me by putting me on loud speaker to her colleagues made a joke out of me.
Ugly and tired people.
Awful. They cancelled the fireworks AGAIN this year because they don’t respect native British culture. YOU SUCK SO MUCH.

Victoria Saltson - appealing duplicitous behaviour
Kabir Miah - the most proactive way of dealing with a complaint for hate crime by not just residents but the staff responsible for resolving the case is to do no investigation close the case then add additional false complaints and exaggerate the numbers.
Gullam Hussain - the person in charge of the neighbourhood team signing a document to close an investigation which hasn't been worked on and it is apparently acceptable to ignore the evidence and to be unaware of the ASB proof that the neighbourhood team leader has a copy of to then claim that the ASB team has no record of such a report when what they're actually saying that it's been deleted from the system and thrown out with the rubbish which is why you should never throw away any paperwork that you recieve from the council incase they are dumber than dumb and delete it from the system and how then can you bring criminal charges to bear on those that love to Hate
Antoinette Davey you who is responsible for stage 2 who is so proactive that she didn't even respond to my question about why she wasn't going to be talking to me and despite repeating the points about the evidence in black and white on emails from certain individuals and despite the obvious fact that shouldn't she have read the decision on stage 1 but which wasn't an investigation into anything. Then the person who yet again makes some empty apologies and equally vacant promises returns from her investigation and she's another employee who isn't at all concerned about the abuse of public money and public services being used in an obvious fraudulent manner and yet again I have to read the same message about there being no evidence of any reports made by myself to the ASB when the investigation she is undertaking and bear in mind that the current mantra is "every complaint and report of hate and harassment is taken seriously and thoroughly investigated" the other favourite mantra is "I am not privy to what has transpired over the last eight years" I think we all can agree that the missing statement which is unsaid but but even the silence knows that Victoria Saltson could not be more disinterested in the history and the evidential facts that having accepted the obvious untrue statements from certain individuals and in the same conversation we had an open honest arrogant admittance to deliberately preventing food and medication for my elderly dog and incurring additional costs. Should we have individuals working in the public sector that we all pay for and they are unable to recognise a contradiction of those who are claiming to be of such a good natured neighbour who has no problems anyone especially the resident who lives above them and who he has just admitted to deliberate interference and the utter arrogant behaviour has not made Victoria Saltson stop and question the obvious contradiction. And then I dig out the ASB official letter from an investigation that clearly contradicts the earlier claim of total virginal innocence. The answer to all these selective choices is we now have to contend with prejudicial and judgemental employees who are too damn lazy and too busy with trying to find a way to alter the narrative and make the victim into the perpetrator and then openly accuse me of antagonising the haters therefore its totally my fault but it's totally acceptable for the haters to go on spreading the hate with no repercussions. Have they forgotten about the pledge and what it stands for.
NPFH (No Place For Hate) from my own personal perspective it's nothing more than a few capitalised letters with a big helping of cleverly worded marketing to boost the approval ratings and I have yet to see even a whisker of those special powers that this council won't hesitate to use. Well I have a suggestion for the powers how about the council takes those powers and uses them to remove the indivuals adding their own blend of hate to an already difficult situation. And if I have to listen to someone else claiming there is no evidence anywhere despite the fact its in their inbox I will simply prittstick the evidence all over Tower Hamlets Councils building
This "independent ombudsman" whoever he/she maybe had best be independent and able to differentiate the obvious truth from the stupidly "I am not Privy" to the aberrant selective "I can find no evidence of homophobia" despite evidence to the contrary.

I have been trying to apply for student…
I have been trying to apply for student council tax exemption for the past 3 months now. Even after submitting an official complaint no one has reached out to me within 15 working days. At this point I’m not even sure if there is anything else I could try doing to receive my exemption.

The only good thing this council does is giving parking fines . It recruited a group of people who are working all the time even on the weekends to give as many parking fines as possible. It is not worth owning a car in this crap town

We have been having a problem with our lift for more than six months. Every time the lift get stuck I call the council, and they would say-'we will send someone in the next 2 to 4 hours to fix the problem'. They have been fixing the problem with lift for more than six months and the lift is still not reliable and get stuck sometimes. There are elderly people and people with babies and kids in fourth floor and third floor including me. I need a pram to take my child downstairs and when the lift is stuck I had postpone things and stay at home. Why is the TOWER HAMLETS COUNCIL acting like this. Very unprofessional in their approach. Why are they collecting council tax if they cannot do things properly. The standards are very poor and lower than what you expect from a developed country. Iam fed up calling the council and waiting for more than half an hour for someone to respond every time this happens.

I was threatened and publicly defamed by Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers. This incident happened in April, I've since met with the council numerous times, written a statement and provided them with both my CCTV and witnesses videos, so far no action has been taken.
I own and run a small cafe in Spitalfields. In April last year, I was confronted in my shop by two Tower Hamlets enforcement officers on a vendetta over a complaint I’d previously made about one of them. In the presence of dozens of customers I was told my ‘life would be more difficult if I didn’t apologise and be nicer’ to them, I was called a disappointment and falsely accused of having violent tendencies. My customers who were unable to enter my shop because of these two enforcement officers were fed false narratives that I was unstable. I was confronted over an anonymous complaint I’d made and disrupted while serving customers for over 40 minutes on the first weekend out of lockdown last year.

I recently submitted a parking permit request for purchasing visitor vouchers and the process is complete non-sense.
I am the account holder of the council tax and hence they have all my detail in their records. However, they ask for proof of address (they only accepted a limited number of docs as POA).
Once submitted the proof of address they made a fuss because the flat number was appearing twice in their records - for starters my correct address, including flat unit, did not come up when looked up by postcode so I had to edit it myself which explains the inconsistency.
I amended this and yet they came back again rejecting my application saying that my name needed to match exactly against the utility bill so I have now removed mi middle name!! which is totally unacceptable.
I tried to download my council tax bill from their website, as this would have saved me a lot of time, and it's all blank except for the amount.
I am tired of so much bureaucracy, and the worst part is that they do not take the time to explain on how to fix things or what they are expecting to see.
Tower Hamlets is the worst council I have ever lived in London, not only because is extremely dirty but also because they do not take any actions to help rough sleepers or even to stop all the people doing drugs on the streets of Tower Hamlets - which I have already complained about as it is becoming an unfriendly place to live in. Yet they charge a very high council tax.
There is a person who has been sleeping in a tent right by Bethnal Green tube station for at least a week now and nobody has done anything.
I am extremely unhappy with this borough.

Got parking ticket! parking suspension on the road I park but due to covid isolation i didn't see this sign as I was waiting for my covid results and following UK law by staying at home. My car was moved without my knowledge to another zone. And I was given a parking ticket due to their mistake. I complained but was told that its my problem and need to pay. Even after showing proof of my isolation. Disgraceful.
